  1. The other interesting part of that story was Farmio eluding the fact that Pete Rose would not vote shares for anyone who wasn't with the team all year, so that it did not dilude his share. Funny how that kind of karma comes back around to bite you in the ass. And yes, good for Carl Everett. The guy has really grown on me in these few months and it is too bad that it sounds like he is not coming back here.
  2. I agree that the French people as a whole are not saying this, but the fact that this book is such a big seller does serve as a sort of indictment of the French people. I, personally, think the French are worse than useless. But I guess being the butt of many a joke is enough to give a nation an inferiority complex. Either that or a history of surrendoring to everything in sight!
  3. Actually off of the top of my head the top 1/5th tax bracket pays about 80% of taxes, and the bottom 1/5th pays none, IIRC.
  4. Hmm a Franchise record for HR's? What does that get us? OH yeah NOTHING!!!
  5. Or maybe Jerry finally realized that the guy hitting .323 should be hitting IN FRONT of the guy who hit 40 HR's?
  6. Besides its a f***ing Urinal, flush it so the water runs out, and then play ball.
  7. Losing 5 straight games against the Twins is something we could have controlled
  8. SHANNON STEWART???? HE wont even get a vote. It looks like Delgado is a lock, after the 4 home runs. But the thing is with the stupid "most valuable player on a winning team" era of voting he should get more consideration, than about anyone else.
  9. Because of travel reasons, I don't think they could make this an afternoon game. I believe it would HAVE to be a night game. And given the choice of games, I think I would watch the Bears until Farve gets them down by about 3 TD's and then go to bed...
  10. LMAO one of my loser co-worker cub fan is at that game. I hope he is getting soaked.
  11. Hmm...Very Interesting However I'm just not sure that JR would want a second go-around with Tony LaRussa although he would be a better option than Buddy Bell or alot of the other misfits around the league... The only reason that Tony left the first time was because of the worst GM in Sox history, Hawk Harrelson...
  12. The western world to convert to Islam and quit supporting Israel.
  13. http://entertainment.msn.com/news/article....spx?news=135487 Is it just me, or is it just a really bad year for the entertainment industry and Hollywood?
  14. I personally really like the idea of using this both for an off season sports board, and we could still have the contests over here. I would suggest even moving the NFL and NCAA contests over to this board, as they would be more appropriate here.
  15. Farmer does that all of the time also... I don't mind as an ex-pitcher can bring some good insight as to what the guy on the mound is thinking...
  16. D'oh, I don't even know why I said P-B-P I knew color, but I was thinking of him and Hawk teaming up in the booth while I was typing that.
  17. Queer Eye is negotiating for the 2nd season... http://www.msnbc.com/news/972196.asp?0dm=C15XL And according to the onion has inspired its first spin off, Black Eye for the White Guy
  18. Gee do you think that comes from the BCS putting them in too high of a bowl game every year because they are ND and bring big crowds? Yet another reason the BCS is a joke...
  19. If thats Botch, I'm not scared at all. The photographers are standing WAAAAAYYY too close for that to be him. If it was Botch, they'd be using a telephoto lens because they have no idea where that rock is going
  20. For that we will have to bring back these guys...
  21. The fact of the matter is some people aren't meant to be bosses. He had his calling and he decided to try managing and that wasn't his thing. IF he is going to manage again it either has to be a Yankees type group of all, all-stars, or a Montreal type group of kids that need no motivation.
  22. LMAO, I was just thinking about him along with a few other people
  23. Too bad these players passion for JM couldn't be translated into their on-field play. I don't think it is so much JM than it is the country club lifestyle JM allows to occur in the clubhouse win or lose. Exactly. Also, lets not forget these players were making these comments AFTER they knew JM was gone. MB is just worried someone might actually MANAGE him...........this guys turning out to be just like Frank.... We need a manager that isn't going to take losing to the Tigers 2 out of 3 times AT HOME and being swept by the Tigers on the road like it's a lost/swept series to the A's or Yankees. Yes and again, I respect Jm as a man. I admire that he can be so relaxed and easy going. However, that just isnt a good match for a major league manager, with a team of underachievers. Jerry would be a perfect bench coach. He is the ideal personality to be the calming voice on the bench while things are going on, to bring perspective and/or a different point of view to the manager.
  24. My thought is that it brings instant credability and respect to the managers office. But it will also bring that circus atmosphere that Tony uses to motivate his players, and try to throw off other teams.
