If thats Botch, I'm not scared at all. The photographers are standing WAAAAAYYY too close for that to be him. If it was Botch, they'd be using a telephoto lens because they have no idea where that rock is going

For that we will have to bring back these guys...

The fact of the matter is some people aren't meant to be bosses. He had his calling and he decided to try managing and that wasn't his thing. IF he is going to manage again it either has to be a Yankees type group of all, all-stars, or a Montreal type group of kids that need no motivation.

LMAO, I was just thinking about him along with a few other people

Too bad these players passion for JM couldn't be translated into their on-field play. I don't think it is so much JM than it is the country club lifestyle JM allows to occur in the clubhouse win or lose. Exactly. Also, lets not forget these players were making these comments AFTER they knew JM was gone. MB is just worried someone might actually MANAGE him...........this guys turning out to be just like Frank.... We need a manager that isn't going to take losing to the Tigers 2 out of 3 times AT HOME and being swept by the Tigers on the road like it's a lost/swept series to the A's or Yankees. Yes and again, I respect Jm as a man. I admire that he can be so relaxed and easy going. However, that just isnt a good match for a major league manager, with a team of underachievers. Jerry would be a perfect bench coach. He is the ideal personality to be the calming voice on the bench while things are going on, to bring perspective and/or a different point of view to the manager.

My thought is that it brings instant credability and respect to the managers office. But it will also bring that circus atmosphere that Tony uses to motivate his players, and try to throw off other teams.

I think you are on to something here. And actually I wouldn't be shocked to see Wood and Prior melt down this weekend. They are both coming off of high pitch outings and are going on short rest. Heck look at Zambrano's last two outings. You think all of those 130 pitch outings are starting to catch up with these guys? All 3 of them are in the top 5 of the NL for most pitches per outing.

Good for Steve Stone. He is such a good play by play guy. The best one in Chicago, IMO.

Boys and girls..... this is what you're dealing with when you begin an exchange with Apu. And I have issue with that statement anyway. Are you telling me on September 10th, 2001 that you would have supported the shooting down of American civilians BEFORE a terrorist act had been committed? As sad as it is, I don't think the American public would have understood the downing of a civilian jet liner, until AFTER one of them had been used as a weapon. Up until this point, as we had was intelligence that said this was POSSIBLE. But then again we had intelligence that said Iraq had WMD, and we weren't supposed to trust that, but based on those same agencies intel, we were supposed to kill 300 innocent civilians, is that what you are saying Apu? And without knowing FOR SURE what the results would have been, you would have supported the Bush Admin, in this action? You can't look at that incident in Sept 12, 2001 eyes. Hindsight is not appropriate in a world changing occurance.

Former Sox still have something to play for.

What would the ex-Sox factor be? Finally waking up and starting to play after leaving the southside? -
He's in the Mets system, somebody just f***ed that up.

"What if God was one of us" Joan Osborne (stupid radio commercial for new TV show) "Two of Us" The Beatles "Across the Universe" The Beatles "Peanuts theme" (boss is learning how to play the piano)

15th time that has ever been done. Gives him 41Hr's and 141 RBI for hte season. And to top it off he is giving the ball to his 4th HR to his mom. to Carlos

Wow, after reading the papers today it sounds like Wally Backman has zero chance of being our manager next year, and most likely won't even be the AA manager next year.

Speaking of Soxfest, anyone know when they start taking reservations for that? I stayed at the hotel, but reserved too late to get the private autograph session, and I want to make sure I make it this year.

Glad to hear you survived...And hints for me

I purposely said that last year comment. I think they might be a little surprising this year, after seeing guys like Ruutu and Seabrook play they have a lot more talent and desire than last years soxesque bunch.

Very relateable to what I went through last year. And that was just to get to my school that was only 5 minutes away. Gash, if you have ever drove down the street and there was some idiot who didnt brush the snow off his car and its blowing right into your windshield, that was probably me. Only brushed off enough snow in front, rear windows so I can drive. I know it would always piss people off but i wasnt willing to wake up 10 minutes earlier to brush it off. I owe you some road rage

Its the Calder Cup right? And heck last year, I would have put my money on the Wolves head to head against the Hawks...

It will never happen. It makes no sense for ND to join another conference. The money is to good from their TV deal with NBC. That's true plus the fact that they'd have to play games on the road, Lose to Northwestern, and never get to a BCS bowl game, let alone get to keep the 10 - 13 million dollars for going to one of those games. We got a whiner, here, people. :finger WHINER?!?!?!?!?! NO I'd love to see ND pony up and play with the big boys. They'd be lucky to post a winning record in any REAL Conference. What? Notre Dame consistently plays one of the toughest schedules in the country. And the Big 10 has plenty of cupcakes in it... Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan State (how did we still come within a touchdown of winning that game?)... Penn State used to say the same BS, and hasn't won s*** since joining the big ten...

Great, "1st amendment issues" That means it will never happen now... My new policy isn't to hang up on telemarketers because then they just call someone else who might be interested in whatever they are selling. So now I just put them on hold, and leave them there...

Astros lead 4-1 after the top of the 8th. 3 more outs and Houston wins...
