Packers 30 Bears 10. That reminds me to walk up to the casino and grab the packers -4 Put me down for some of that action Damn I couldn't live that close to the sportsbooks... Its up to -4 1/2 now lmao, could have been 14 1/2 and it wouldn't have mattered Now go Braves

What about Hargrove?
Hargrove was overrated. Even with all of the talent that the Indians had he only made one real good run. Plus when I saw him he seemed to make some bad strategy decesions...

All Time Team
Luke Appling? Bench, Gehrig, Joe Morgan, Honus Wagner, Mike Schmidt, Williams, Mays, Ruth. Walter Johnson, Lefty Grove, Cy Young, Warren Spahn, Bob Gibson. Eckersly and Wilhelm in the Pen. That was my White Sox bias coming out. I'm cool with that. For what it's worth, Bill James lists Eddie Collins as the second best 2nd baseman of all time, behind Morgan. After I posted my list, I remembered somebody named Barry Bonds, who really has to be on the list. I'd have to freeze out Ted. Freeze out Ted Couldn't let that one go without comment...

Frank Thomas
It won't be too long before we know what Franks move is. He has until 5 days after the world series ends to make up his mind.

2004 budget
The players raises are a part of the payroll. If that number is taken up by raises that doesn't bother me, as long as our payroll total increases to reflect the added burden passed onto the fans. And aren't the concessions based on contracts awarded to the concessionaires? So in other words if they have increased costs, they have to deal with it, just as if they have increased profits they get to keep those also? Parking has already become a fixed cost as you said in another thread that is now a fixed long term cost, because of a contract for that also. I wouldn't be surprised if security is also contracted out.

2004 SOX
I think Garland is never going to better than he is now he is not a #2 starter with his era and control problems , I would like to see him dealt in the offseason. Honestly, where do people come up with this crap? A 23 year old with loads of potential, who has improved, is never going to get better? Thats as weird of a statement as ive read in a long while............ Go to the source of the post, there you will have answers to the questions you ask...

Willie Randolph
If I remember right didn't we also give Tony LaRussa his first managerial job?
-
Grinders
I am guessing that LaTroy wants to go somewhere and close again. Or if he doesn't he is going to the Yankees who need pen help badly.

2004 budget
I think he meant last year. Increased prices and increased sales should equal increased payroll. Yeah that is exactly what I was talking about. We had a 20% increase in attendance, on top of the 20% increase in ticket prices, yet we only get a "marginal" increase in payroll. That is BS.

2004 season opener
Exactly why I don't mind openning on the road. Give Chitown sometime to warm up!

Rex's SL Top 20
Me too. When I saw him in the Spring against us, and in his short call ups he was awesome.

My Teacher ripped Bush
Politics isn't for a high school classroom, unless it is a current events type of class. I am going to start my rant now, so anyone who isn't interested skip this part. The most important part of a high school education should not be to graduate. That's right, that's what I said. The whole point of secondary education was supposed to teach you skills that will benefit you at the next level. For people who aren't going on to college it was supposed to teach you basics for how to handle a job. Things like how to be on time, how to pay attention and work for 8 hours, and maybe a basic trade or skill depending on what you studied. Or for the college bound it is supposed to teach people how to study and work on their own, plus basic knowledge in order to build on at the higher education level. Instead with the educational system turning into another unneeded government beaurcracy now the most important things are standardized test scores and graduation rates. These numbers are worthless IMO. All they do it narrow the scope of learning to a tighter field of knowledge, encourage cramming, stifle teacher creativity, and discourage anything but what is on the tests. With the emphasis on graduation rates this puts kids in the classroom that should not be there. Included in this group are kids who are disicpline problems, and people that will never graduate. All this does it take away valuable resources to the kids who are going to contribute meaningfully to society. Yes some people are not meant to graduate high school. I know it sounds harsh, but in every work force there is entry and basic employment, and people who don't have either the desire or the ability to be educated are the most likely people to fill these roles in society. Jay Williams interview
Its too bad this happened to him. I really think he was poised for a breakout season. But I wish him well in getting his life back to normal, let alone getting back to playing ball.

Bulls loaded with talent
You are right on one thing. Bill Cartright is going to have to be a magician to find these guys playing time and keep them happy. I really hope they find a way to get rid of Eddie Robinson as he seems like a cancer to me, and wouldn't mind seeing them find a better clutch shooter in exchange for Jalen.

Packers 30 Bears 10. That reminds me to walk up to the casino and grab the packers -4 Put me down for some of that action Damn I couldn't live that close to the sportsbooks... Its up to -4 1/2 now Did you still play it? Sounds like other people have the same idea we do. Yeah, i predicted 30-10 so that half point wont hurt. I did see another two bets im probably going to make later, as long as the packers cover. The Braves are only -133 to win the series adn only -120 for tomorrows game. The -133 for the series looks especially inviting......... Wow, the Cub fan have really pushed that down. It should be -175 at least...
