  1. He could give up his #12 or he could argue and give up his roster spot
  2. Almonte sounds like a AAAA guy. He had put up huge save numbers for 2 or 3 years in the minors as the "prospects" moved past him. This year he has been horrible. Ring was our #1 pick in 2002 and was considered as a guy who was on the fast track to Chi, and a future closer or primary LH man out of the pen. He had been tearing up the minors.

  4. Wow. I am surprised that we dealt Ring, but happy it wasn't Cotts. Two questions come to mind real quick. Does that mean we are still looking at trading Cotts for Weaver, and who gets sent down to make room for Roberto. Could D'Angelo be the odd man out?
  5. Meh, I just like this site. It is a great read for all kinds of urban legend. Most of the time when people send my those kind of emails, this is the first place I go to check out the legitimacy of it.
  6. cw, I was very very hopeful in 2000. But I knew our staff was staying together by means of baling wire and duct tape. We had about .500 ball the last 4 to 6 weeks of the season. That is not the way to head into the playoffs and expect to win it all. There are no Detroit or Tampa Bay games during the playoffs. And DEFINATELY no CUBS!
  7. I have never been quite sure why we signed Rios in the first place. He has never really seemed to be much of a pinch hitter, can run with Pauly in the race to first, and really doesn't play defense that well. I would have much rather us signed a guy like Tom Goodwin who can PH and give some speed off of the bench.
  8. Great to see ya Neal. Welcome aboard, and I am sure I speak for all of us when I say we look forward to hearing from you often. My first question would be have you heard your name being trade rumors with the Mets (for Alomar) or the Yankees (Jeff Weaver), and what is it like to be traded at such a young age?
  9. I would hardly say Robin underestimated his value. He got a 4 year $32 million deal when the Sox were offering about half of that.
  10. No way dude, it is mine, and I am using it to buy the White Sox! I will be the next person that all Sox fans hate
  11. It's all in the wrist action and keeping your eyes on the ball. Are you playing pinball. or what? I don't think he is playing pinball...

  13. Too bad he can't teach his attitude to some of the other cry babies on this team.
  14. That's one helluva post on the state of the Blackhawks. And sad
  15. I wonder who is on what side? From the sounds of it all that matters is what Eddie E thinks.
  16. Players on others clubs have told Padres personnel they would like to join the club in its new park. The group includes White Sox slugging outfielder Magglio Ordoñez, who can become a free agent after next season.
  17. Not me, I am leaving for Dallas!
  18. No someone posted the link on another site. I noticed the "Maggs to SD" title and it got my attention.
  19. Hunter is out and Matsui is in for the latest tallies.
  20. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/uniontr..._1s1padres.html WTF?
  21. Honestly out of all of the kids that have come through our system in the last few years he has the best "stuff" of all them, IMO. If he learns to pitch ahead he can be great.
  22. Keep in mind we are still talking about Kenny Williams...
  23. Maggs wins the PTC with a whopping 14 points last night. The amazing thing was that Carlos had 9 points, Val 8, and Crede 7. The winner was ElrockinMT.
