  1. ill watch... and no i cant recall more than one design cut in the grass at a time......well not since the last time we hosted the all star game.... My understanding is that Roger Bossard never varies his design cut like other teams do. So anything is different from the normal striping. true, he does not vary the cut in the grass.....im sure hes having a b**** fit right about now... .. hes very protective of his field and particular about how it looks........ I'm sure he knew that MLB would provide a design for him, so he has prepped himself for it. I do know that he is very good. Just kinda vanilla compared to some of the newer groundskeepers these days. Farmer and Rooney said it was the first time ever that he has done something different.
  2. Really there are only two choices IMO, Koch or Konerko.
  3. And once again remember with Borchard remember this is only his SECOND FULL YEAR OF HIS LIFE playing baseball. He has a lot to learn, and it isn't going to happen over night.
  4. Maybe that is what we need to start telling the players. It seems like the only time they show up is against good teams...
  5. Trust me if you keep reading the kids posts your brain will rot.
  6. They had a grey blue tint to them with dark blue lettering.
  7. Diaz is 3-7 now? Doesn't sound like he is in line for a trip up here. But once again Joe Borch with two hits. Hopefully this is a good sign! We'll need this kid next year!
  8. at 92, isn't it down from where he normals throw at, 94-96 I have always heard he was right about 90 give or take a couple of mph. That is why his K numbers are so impressive. he is a pitcher not a thrower.
  9. Well right off the bat my impressions... I can see why he throws a lot of pitches. He doesn't come anywhere near the middle of the plate. He works the corners and up and down really well, but he also nibbles a lot.
  10. Kris Honel I would guess... anyone else know for sure. Now Cotts with two straight K's, two down.
  11. My advice is to find a cheap rate whereever you can and take public transportation. You can get anywhere in Chicago on a train or bus for $1.50 a person.
  12. and he steals 3rd off of Cotts and Joe Mauer.
  13. couldn't have said it any better.
  14. Bradley pops out to SS, Shane Spencer up with two down.
  15. followed by a single off of the wall by Gerut. First and third no one out. Good hustle by Maggs to keep Gerut on first.
  16. Tom Gordon on to try to close this out.
  17. He could have done the ole tag that lots of catchers try to use. And everyone is impressed that he didn't drop the ball after taking a hit like that.
  18. Sox go 1-2-3 in the 9th its now hold em and go to the all star break !
  19. The only guy that I would like to see on our team do the HR derby is Frank. His swing is much more conducive to the derby. Most of the guys that do that are HR hitters with HR swings. Maggs is a gap to gap hitter who happens to be strong enough to hit some HR's.
  20. So now everyone wondering why Olivo stayed in the game think that Sandy wouldn't be headed to the DL after that hit?
  21. I for one would NOT want Maggs in the HR derby. He doesn't have a natural HR swing and I don't want his swing ruined for the 2nd half the way Konerko was last year. Let Boone do it.
