  1. The contract for Rodon isn't even nearly as big of a deal as his health in 22.
  2. Ray wins. Sox place 4 pitchers in the top 11, including Lynn 3rd. 2 of the four were acquired this year in Lynn and Hendriks.
  3. You guys are soooo boring with your facts and everything.
  4. Que TimAndersonsBigFish Twitter insider profile.
  5. It is the only scenario that makes sense to not offer him. If they wanted him back, they make the offer to start with, hoping he takes it. If they didn't want him back and thought he wouldn't take the QO, they would have offered it for the draft pick.
  6. TA obviously playing insider and revealing that we will be getting the big fish.
  7. Stroman isn't coming here with our current manager.
  8. Verlander has had a long career of pretty good health, even including his recent surgery. Dude is pushing 3000 innings in essentially 15 years of baseball at the MLB level. That is pretty nuts.
  9. Max is the only one that makes sense at the front of the rotation. Klu makes sense towards the back. Jake makes sense for maybe Charlotte.
  10. You just said they can't evaluate MLB talent, yet you keep finding reasons to disqualify it when there are super clear examples pointed out to you. For some reason you also seem to think that evaluating your own talent isn't evaluating MLB talent, which is also not true.
  11. Seems funny to forget that the previous year he was 5th in the Cy Young voting, but OK. Its also funny that you use James McCann as a detraction when the team plucked him from obscurity on a MiLB deal, got his best years out of him for extremely cheap, and walked away before he got a huge contract and absolutely cratered last year for the Mets. No MLB player evaluations going on there.
  12. So correctly evaluating Adam Eaton, Jose Quintana, and Chris Sale for trades didn't help the rebuild at all? Especially when the sold at absolute peak value on Q and Eaton for sure, and probably sold peak value on Sale (pre-surgery and gigantic extension). That isn't MLB talent evaluation? Um, sure.
  13. They also benefited from the rebuild because they were able to find enough MLB talent to turn into a shortcut on the rebuild. Your point a canyon of a hole in the middle of it.
  14. So the front office hired the scouts who evaluated the talent, and took the advice of those guys to deal for them. They also hired the staff who did develop them. But the front office somehow doesn't deserve credit here? Bizarre.
  15. Verlander seems like a vintage KW move. We at least know now matter what happens, it will be a short term thing.
  16. How many front offices out there develop talent? I am going to go with zero.
  17. Exactly. Before they finished this rebuild, you could question this. But this front office gets A LOT more rope after making back to back playoffs, and being a leader for a third.
  18. Giolito is going to be north of $200 million assuming his historic level of health and ability.
