  1. They announced the rehab on the 19th, and his first game played was on the 21st. I would imagine you start counting with the latter date.
  2. Until you get back the rest of the starters, guys are going to be playing outside of the slots they really should be in.
  3. It is interesting that both the Sox and Rays styled deals around injured players that might be coming on a discount. I wonder if that was intentional strategy based on Cubs asking prices, or if there was hive mind going on there.
  4. These don't really go together. Were the Mets just dumb or intentionally ignorant then?
  5. The problem is some players have already agreed to sign for less than slot, which is why they get drafted. If they agree to one number, and then change their minds, they could blow up a teams entire draft class.
  6. In the playoffs, it almost has to be either Engel or Vaughn playing RF, assuming relative health among our OFs.
  7. We are going to have to open up a 40 man slot very soon anyway, so it wouldn't be a shock if Lamb's days were numbered anyway.
  8. Hamilton's "injury" has always been there. He never fully healed and came back early. That's why he wouldn't hit left handed anymore.
  9. I think it is pretty obvious that their predictive WAR model is largely underestimating the young players here. I also think the one number you really can't touch is how many guys have played through injuries because so many other main players have been hurt, and how that has hurt production.
  10. The only one I can think of is Hamilton, unless Grandal is worse than we know.
  11. The problem with Luis is he is on the 60 day IL, and not on the 40 man roster, so a 40 man spot has to be freed up. Even if its the Lambert active roster slot, someone on the 40 has to go.
  12. I still think it is either him or Goodwin that is getting DFA'd here when Robert is ready.
  13. I just can't care about just the teams record over a period of time right now in the regular season. They have two months to get and stay healthy. That's it, that's all that matters to me. Cure the injured, and come to the playoffs with the pitching staff ready. If that means we go 5-11 during this stretch, so be it. We have a nine game lead to utilize to our advantage, we had better use it wisely. It does us no good to get the playoffs and still be playing with large portion of the roster with nagging injuries and fatigue.
  14. Lamb the IF makes more sense than Lamb the OF roster management wise.
  15. If they got compensation, they had to offer at least 40% of slot.
  16. This rule does exist. It is a percentage of slot value.
  17. Being a stan of the guy cut by the Pirates is pretty funny, but I guess you went way out on a limb by waiting until he actually did something good, so that is the smart time to bandwagon him.
  18. Welcome to Soxtalk, I see you've met greg.
  19. If thats the case, the Sox are in spectacular shape.
  20. All of the scared of the Tribe gang can come out from under the covers now.
