Cardinals sign Ricardo Rincon
Just a bunch of old gascan lefties: Wilson Alvarez Joey Eischen Alan Embree Buddy Groom Chris Hammond Felix Heredia Terry Mulholland By the way, nice avatar.

Jerry Owens
I don't see this being a big deal. Owens could just replace Podsednik in left field. We have Anderson, Young, and Sweeney for center field and right field.

Cardinals sign Ricardo Rincon
Dotel is now saying that he won't be ready to pitch until midseason. http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?...9580.xml&coll=1 There's no way Kenny signs a reliever that won't be able to pitch for half the season when we already have Hermanson who may miss time with his back.

UPDATE: Tejada never wanted trade
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/basebal...ack=1&cset=true Looks like no Tejada for the Cubs.

Red Sox, Braves trade
Frank suffered a partial stress fracture in a bone in his left ankle in an interleague game against the Marlins in Florida on June 17, 2004. He was playing first base and the injury occurred when he was fielding a grounder hit by Juan Pierre. The Sox didn't know how serious the injury was until weeks later. They put him on the DL on July 10, 2004 and he missed the rest of the season. Here's the game: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=240617128

TEJADA
Offensively, Tejada is a major upgrade over Uribe. Not defensively though. My thoughts exactly.

TEJADA
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5157958 Garcia, Uribe, one of our outfield prospects, and a pitching prospect? Way too much to pay for Tejada.

Agent: Artest wants to remain a Pacer
I would make that trade in a second, if it was possible. Artest was fine with us because the Bulls were making him take Ritalin or something. PG Duhon / Hinrich SG Artest SF Deng PF Sweetney C Chandler That lineup would be sweet.

Not too kind a story on Crazy Carl
I hated Everett's awful lack of production after the All Star break but he did help us in the postseason: Carl Everett's postseason stats: 40 AB's, .300 AVG, .333 OBP, 3 RBI's I also agree that Everett is a terrible fit for the Mariners. He swings for the fences too much so Safeco is a horrible place for him.

Bill Mueller signs with Dodgers
Yeah, it looks like CBS4 in Boston blew it. http://pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review...e/s_402919.html Wow, $4 million a year for 3 years for Mueller? I was expecting a 2 year deal for $6 or $7 million.

Central Division
Yes, he would have been worse. Is Rodrigo Lopez a better pitcher than Millwood because he went 15-12 with a 4.90 ERA last season? Nope, it just means that the Orioles scored more runs for Lopez than the Indians did for Millwood. Do you think that Shawn Estes is a great pitcher because he won 15 games in 2004 with a 5.84 ERA? I hope to God not. Wins are the absolute worst stat to judge pitchers by. I think the Indians would have preferred to score more runs for a guy with a 2.86 ERA. It isn't Millwood's fault that his record sucked last season. He did more than enough to win more than 9 games. It's his offense's fault for not scoring him any runs.
-
Central Division
Wins are overrated. Just look at Millwood's numbers from last season. 2.86 ERA 9-11 W-L A pitcher can't earn wins if his offense doesn't score any runs for him.

The latest report is that they are interested.

Available Lefty: Ricardo Rincon
Good call, TheHawkaroo.

Available Lefty: Ricardo Rincon
^^^ I think you're right. If we want a decent lefty, we will have to trade for one.

Available Lefty: Ricardo Rincon
Hey, Osuna was pretty solid for us in 2002. Just don't look at his 42.43 ERA with the Nationals last season. Is Chris Hammonds the only decent lefty option left?
-
25 Man Roster for 2006
Tucker would also be a decent option because he can play some center field just like DaVanon. But I like DaVanon more because he's a switch hitter and he's better from the right side.
-
25 Man Roster for 2006
The ideal outcome would be to obtain Jeff DaVanon and trade Willie and Borchard for a decent lefty reliever with some upside.
