  2. Probably not, but I think I'd rather have him sucking off the bench and making nothing than Timo sucking off the bench and making over a million dollars.
  3. Timo. Podsednik Anderson Dye Borchard Ozuna That's five outfielders.
  4. Kenny said he wasn't interested in Pierre. Pierre is now a Cub. Kenny could have beaten the Cubs' offer if he really wanted to. It seems to me that he is confident in Brian Anderson.
  5. Kenny wasn't lying. The Cubs landed Pierre: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2250647 http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/new...t=.jsp&c_id=chc
  6. I guess Kenny was really telling the truth.
  7. So it's either Pierre or Lugo and/or Huff.
  8. Thanks for the memories, Carl. You were a stud when we first acquired you in 2003. Rotoworld is right though. His numbers are going to be brutal at Safeco.
  9. His AA numbers were pretty good. He doesn't have much power but if he plays decent defense at 3B and 2B, he might not be that bad to take a flier on. I'd rather have a guy with potential like Howard on our roster than Timo Perez.
  10. Wow, excellent find. He's a lefty bat and he can play 3B and 2B. Damn good minor league numbers as well. He doesn't appear to have too much power, more like a Joe Randa-type hitter. But that would be just fine as a utility infielder off the bench. I hope we take a flier on this guy.
  11. It's bad if he repeats his 2005 numbers. Then I'd rather have Mike Myers and just use him solely against lefties. At least you know what you are getting from Myers against lefties. Eyre, Howry, and Farnsworth all had much better seasons than Marte last year. I didn't even see that Rotoworld quote, it was my own opinion. Do you think that Marte will be worth $2.25 million in 2006 and $3 million in 2007 and 2008 if he pitches like he did last season? I don't. Obviously, there's hope though. I hope we see 2003 Marte next season if Kenny decides not to trade him.
  12. If we don't trade Marte, I hope he makes me eat my words and goes back to his old numbers. Otherwise, $2.25 million in 2006 and $3 million in 2007 and 2008 is too much to pay for a bad reliever.

  14. I understand the flying under the radar stuff. I just don't see him giving up even more good prospects for Pierre after he already did for Thome. The Marlins want either Thomas Diamond or John Danks from the Rangers for Pierre. Stark mentions that the Marlins would want McCarthy or Young for Pierre. Do you guys see Kenny giving up either of those guys for likely one year of Pierre? I don't.
  15. The difference is that Brazelton actually put up decent numbers in 2004. Borchard has never put up any decent numbers unless you want to count his 12 AB's from last season. Brazelton is also two years younger than Borchard. A 25 year old starting pitcher with a lot of talent but control issues is worth more than a 27 year old strikeout-master outfielder.
  16. It does when you realize what the Marlins are asking for in prospects for Pierre. That's what probably turned Kenny off in a big way.
  17. I think that may be old news. The big Pierre thread has all the latest news on him. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ic=43267&st=600 Yesterday, Kenny Williams said he is not interested in Juan Pierre.

  19. Brazelton showed some talent in 2004. Borchard has never shown anything.
  20. Maybe because that trade rumor was majorly bogus. Dewon Brazelton (even with his control issues) >>>>> Joe Borchard
  21. Tons of rumors here: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/2005-12...ings-buzz_x.htm
