Eh, I'm not really going to miss Dolgin. I will miss Rooney a ton though. Farmer doing play-by-play is going to suck so bad.

Not that we're going to get Abreu for Rowand and Marte but what's wrong with that idea? You could swap Pods and Abreu at the DH and left field position. Both could stay healthier that way and Pods' legs would stay fresher. You get the offensive production from both players either way. And I'd rather have Abreu's arm in left field more often than Pods' weak arm.

If you have the payroll to afford him like the Yankees do, he's worth it. I would love to have him on the Sox but other areas of our team would suffer due to his $25 million salary.

Best post ever.

Eddie Guererro Passes Away

The screwed up thing is that Eddy Guerrero was actually pudgy during his early days in WCW. I'm sure the roids, drugs, and booze that he abused all played some kind of role in his death. -

Hey, that's pretty cool. B) -
The Cell was more of a homerun haven than Citizens Bank Park was this past season and yet Rowand hit only 13 homers. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfa...tor&season=2005
-
Wells has only a slight advantage over Rowand in power? Rowand has not shown that he can hit 25-30 homers every season like Wells has.

I'm getting sick of Skiles' lame starting lineup.
-
Did you miss him getting horrible jumps on balls in left field all season long?

Here's an interesting article on replacing Konerko if he does leave: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=1&cset=true The following excerpt is for all of you guys who think the payroll is just going to jump to the $90-$95 million range.

So because Jeremy Reed ended up being a bust with no power whatsoever, Brian Anderson will do the same? Reed was a highly touted prospect but there's probably a reason Kenny decided he was worth giving up for Freddy Garcia. Maybe Kenny saw more upside in Anderson than Reed. Just because Reed was a bust doesn't mean Anderson will be. Just as easily as you can say Anderson will perform like Reed, I could say Anderson will perform more like Jonny Gomes or Nick Swisher.

The whole Konerko situation is what makes me think Frank will be back next season.

Not going to happen. Some other team will offer him 4 years, $52 million.

Mariners on verge of signing Jojima http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/updates...p-4825137c.html "Move over Ichiro, you could soon have company. The Seattle Mariners are said to be on the verge of signing Japanese catcher Kenji Jojima. A source said Friday that the Mariners are close to signing Jojima to a two-year contract worth about $8 million with an option for a third season." http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yan...y-yankees-print "Seibu Lions righthander Daisuke Matsuzaka still hopes to pitch in the major leagues this season even after his Japanese League team rejected his request to leave earlier this week. And if Matsuzaka somehow can convince his current employers to reverse course, the Yankees are expected to hotly pursue the pitcher considered by many to be the best in the Japanese League."

http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews...ts/13147207.htm The exclusive period for the White Sox to re-sign their first baseman ended Friday without them making any official proposal despite media reports of a four-year, $52 package. "Totally incorrect," agent Craig Landis said Friday about the purported offer. "The White Sox have not made an offer of any kind." It would be very uncharacteristic of a Jerry Reinsdorf-controlled team to be the first franchise to start bidding. Traditionally, the Sox chairman has waited until other teams have set the parameters and then come in with his number. "We told them Paul would like to take some time to look around (at free agency)," Landis said by telephone. "We asked (the White Sox) if they would like to make an offer (before Friday), and they said they would rather not. ... My response was, `OK, that's your choice.'"

I'd rather keep Ozuna as our utility infielder for next to nothing than pay Graffanino a lot more money. Also, we have absolutely no need for Paul Byrd.
-
It's a waste of time talking about it. There's no way the Phillies would ever take Rowand for Abreu. It's like a bad Levine rumor that never comes to fruition.
-
Haha, someone lock this thread. Vernon Wells >>>>> Aaron Rowand
-
There's no way we would get Teixeira for Contreras. And even if the Rangers would make that trade, Reinsdorf isn't going to want Teixeira when his agent is Boras and he's going to want a 10 year contract for huge money soon.
-
They want Felix Pie but the Cubs won't give him up.
-
Patterson signed a 1 year deal for $2.8 million before last season.
-
Do people really believe our payroll is going to raise from $75 million to $95 - $100 million?
-
I just estimated that it would be around $100 million to keep Konerko and add Delgado. Thanks for doing all of the work for me.
