Another decent option would be Juan Cruz. He's probably not going to make the A's bullpen and KW and Beane have dealt quite a bit with each other.

All the more reason for KW to sign a guy like Osuna. If there is an injury to our rotation, McCarthy will have to move into the rotation and our bullpen will be further weakened. USA versus Mexico just started. Maybe Osuna will pitch an inning or two.

It wouldn't make much sense to trade Patterson and then obtain his backup. It also doesn't make sense because they already have Marquis Grissom in camp to serve as a backup for every outfield spot. And we all know how much Dusty loves his new 90 year old buddy.

Walker has since changed his tune on that. First, he said that Dusty had told him he was the starter at second base during the offseason. Now, he has backed off of those comments. He also said that "sometimes organizations lie to you." After that, he said that he wasn't referring to the Cubs and apologized to Hendry and Dusty. The dude likes to run his mouth. This is no lie. His quotes seem to be in the Tribune every other week. Walker's bat is great but his crappy defense, inability to stay healthy, and big mouth are all reasons why the Cubs are trying to dump him.

Walker is an All-Star compared to Luis Matos.

This is starting to remind me of the Sirotka for Wells trade. Even though we are still looking for a second lefty, this trade was a steal for us.

I doubt it. There's not enough lefties for two extra lefty relievers to face and right-handed batters usually hammer sidearming lefties like Javier Lopez.

It's bad enough that we have to choose from one of these lefties. We definately don't need two LOOGY's in our bullpen along with Cotts. KW will get another righty to replace Hermanson.

I think Hermanson blew it by not having back surgery this offseason. If he's going to try to pitch with his back pain again like he did in the second half of last season, he's going to be of little use to our bullpen. He'll get rocked. I'm sure KW isn't depending on him.

George Offman of The Score was pissed off by Carroll's comments about how the Chicago sports reporters don't even bother to ask tough questions at training camp. Offman had a little s***-fit about them.

Yep, a throwing error. He had two more hits though to finish 8 for 24 (.333 AVG) with a HR and 4 RBI. Shaky glove but a nice bat off the bench.
