QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 06:17 AM) The voice is serious and so matter of fact.. I was LMAO.. They've done a good job with the radio commercials. Even before Brooks I thought they had some clever ideas. Now, the TV spots are a different story. :puke

Didja know also that MB has a streak of 31 consecutive starts going at least 6 innings. Incredible! Mr. Incredible!

And he doesn't get hurt. :banghead (Me knocking on wood)

QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 06:10 AM) Maybe, but the guys around him all seemed to be wearing Cub gear. Either way, throwing a souvenir back is one stuuuuuuuuuuupid "tradition". Yeah, a guy wearing a Cubs jersey almost got hit by the ball so I figured it was just a Cub fan. I don't know if it's stupid. What is stupid is stealing the tradition from another team. Every team has their own traditions. They should stay that way. Come up with your own! Kinda like the Bulls entrance. Everybody does that now. BS! Steff, no, I haven't heard that, but I'll bet it's hilarious!

Didn't see this posted. If it was...sorry. Did you see that damned Cub fan throw back Everett's first homer last night? I wonder if that guy received a pummeling.?

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) no matter how much they take out in the beginning, you end up paying the correct amount at the end. Now granted, if you can budget for it and are disciplined enough, it makes perfect sense to keep more of your money along the way and earn interest on it but if not, just go with the flow or increase your withholdings. Last year as a single person, i was withholding 3 due to all of the deductions i knew i was going to have. (mortgage interest, property taxes, charity, etc) You're missing my point completely. Nevermind.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) Home field advantage...plus it makes it more fun for everyone else there. Bigger crowd=bigger excitement. OK, but why do we need multiple "Guess the attendence" threads?

I actually see it! Pretty cool! Yeah, what's the JKF? Just kidding, f***ers?

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 07:06 AM) So glad I only care about the wins and losses.. I would go absolutely batty if I worried about half the stupid crap complained about... Man, those blue seat have got to go. Then we'd sell the place out!

Nobody has brought this up yet, so I will. What started this was Frank saying he expects to play every day. On it's face, that sounds like he wants to make the lineup card. I think he just means that he'll be in such great shape that Ozzie won't have any choice than to play him everyday. The reporter followed up with: "What will Everett do?"

Why do we ever care about this?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) This might be more of the same from the Oz. This sounds like just getting him ready to go. A month before he comes back?

QUOTE(Allsox @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) Agreed, these boobs in the media should be asking Ozzie why he's still bothered by Frank Thomas being the undisputed icon of the White Sox.... That may be the root of the problem right there.

QUOTE(Kogs35 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:20 AM) ok i guess im giving him the benifit of the doubt and thinking the media started it oh well. lol It's difficult to stretch a quote of that length.

QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) just a suggestion.... HAVE MORE TAKEN OUT OF CHECK ALONG THE WAY!!! I don't understand. Soooo, they can have more of your money? My point is that because money is withheld from your paycheck, you don't realize how much you actually pay in taxes. Way back when, April 15th was actually tax payment day. They didn't take anything out when your received your paycheck. If they did that now, without withholding, I believe more people would be involved in the political process and less politicians would keep getting re-elected.

They were talking about this yesterday on the radio. Morons! :headshake

I'm physically sick to my stomach right now. An infant? Jesus.

Must be George Bush's fault. Good luck on the job search. Are they giving you a good severence?

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) If today were election day, 3/4's the pukes wouldn't be there. Nothing like making a huge fat ass check out to the IRS. :fyou You got that right! They should either change election day or stop withholding. People would be a lot more pissed off if they actually had to write that check like they used to.

I've never watched a single episode, but I heard about the whole "blow up" story this morning. Apparently, he got pissed off about the $20 cover charge because he was already staying at the casino hotel in a $1000 a night room. I think he had a legitimate complaint.

Scary! 1 + 18 + 1974 = 1993 1 + 9 + 9+ 3 = 22 2 + 2 = 4

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) Quite often, those type are slump busters. Is there really any truth to that? I've heard it a million times. They say the same thing about a home run. I wonder if there's any facts to back it up.
