  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) No problemo Oh, You can't change my "group" to say wing nuts? I still want to be "Flyover poster."
  2. QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Us bleeding hearts welcome it with open arms. Even from wing nuts "Wing nuts", I like it! Mods, admins - change my group to it!
  3. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) Some people get it. There could be zero gay members here, zero Jewish members here, zero black members here, yada yada... and those of us who care about such things would STILL strive to maintain a civil and respectful decorum around here when it comes to ethnic/social/religious group affiliations. Which doesn't mean all of that and much more can't be discussed here. It is discussed and debated and argued. But the debates are actually meaningful if people use the littlest bit of restraint and rise above the attacks and the slurs. Very well put, Jim. Now, if any of you want to disrespect Democrats - go right ahead!
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) How many million Canadians are here illegally taxing our resources? He speaks! Where ya been all day?
  5. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Yes, there was more. Plus the unofficial guide is Don't complain. Don't commit a crime. Don't report a crime. Don't take a sick day. Avoid government officials. Don't visit a Doctor or Hospital. Don't interect with Gringos. Keep to yourself. Bribe anyone and everyone. Gringos? Here we go again. Where's Yasny?
  6. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) The point of the booklet was, don't do it, but if you make the difficult decision to do it, here are the dangers and here are some tips to survive. I saw one of the booklets on TV and it also had stuff about how not to get caught once in the US. That sounds like more than survival to me.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) What I would like to see is for our nation's best interest the DEMs and GOPs drop the partisan b.s. and private agendas. While I like I good debate and think it's counterproductive to agree on absolutely everything, I couldn't agree more, Tex.
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) I know what you meant. I'm saying, if some or most of was intentionally fabricated by the parents, that would probably suck worse. Yes it would. To have your parents sell out your dignity and self respect for a payday... :headshake :puke
  9. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) I wasn't condemning a damn thing. I just couldn't read it. Just the fact that kids have gone through this type of thing makes this tough to read. I have no idea about any of the evidence the DA has. Relax. I wasn't referring to you, Queen. I was talking about comments like this:
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) The kids can't win. I don't know which would be worse for the kids involved, to find out that all of the allegations are true, or to find out it's all BS. It's almost scarier to think that a parent could/might have put the kids up to a huge lie. Which does more psychological damage?? I'm not saying it's a huge lie, and I really don't believe it is. I'm just saying if you read the entire Smoking Gun story, you'll see that there's a lot of holes and strange things within their story.
  11. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Uh, who gives a rat's ass what any person posting on another board(or this board, for that matter) says about Frank Thomas? Does saying he's good make him good? Saying he's bad make him bad? I guess if this is the type of thing people look to hear, then I'll say this -- I think Johan Santana is the second-best left handed starter in baseball. You're welcome, Twins fan looking for validation. I think it just goes to show what the feeling is "out there" about him getting in. And may be, a hint of what the voters in the media think outside of Chicago. But, alas, probably means nothing.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 03:42 AM) For those of you who didn't visit the Twins site, there was one post I thought was very interesting by fearthewhitesoxb**** (great handle!). I was going to post the same thing. You beat me to it, Yas!
  13. I would some of you that can't / won't read this, either stop with the condemnations or read the facts. There are a lot of holes in the accusations. FYI, I do believe he's guilty, but I'm just trying to say that you should educate yourselves about the facts of the case. Just my $0.02
  14. While I'm not a big fan of BK food (I used to work there), I love their fries. Quit hatin' on their fries! Great stories, though, everyone!
  15. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Goddammit, this kind of thing pisses me off. This is like Esteban Loaiza winning comeback player of the year in 2003 for the Sox. WTF IS HE COMING BACK FROM?! Brees was solid his first year of starting, and was bad last year...and this year he just is awesome. He's not coming back from anything, he's breaking out and becoming a star. I can't offer a better replacement for the award...just saying that is bugs the hell out of me that he would get that for not coming back from anything. Frank Thomas got the award in 2000, and that was deservedly so...he had 2 bad years prior to that, and then has an MVP season for the Sox, leading them to the postseason. I just had the same conversation here at work. I've never been to Hawaii, so I can't "go back", can I?

    Ready for snow?

    QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) I live like 20 minutes from Lafayette in a town called Fowler...... I go to Benton Central. Fowler Rocks!
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 7, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) Pilots have said it is about the same as if someone flashed their brights at you in a car. Their worry, at least the two that I heard interviewed was that the laser was part of an aiming device and a missle was coming next. That is what pissed them off, and it would me also. What I object to is the Patriot Act was to fight terrorism. This clearly wasn't an act of terrorism, just a Dad showing off to his daughter. F Agreed.
  18. I read / heard somewhere that a majority of the district in Ohio are "contolled" by Dems, therefore, the election offials in a majority of districts are...well...Dem. It would have taken a major conspiracy between Dem and Gop to pull off what the Boxers of the world claim. This isn't just about one guy. He's powerless when you get right down to the nitty gritty. It's more about an antiquated system of voting.
  19. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) No, a cot. :sleep Actually, the kid is fighting a viral thing that has her kind of miserable right now. We spent the morning on New Years' Eve in the ER bacause she was having unexplained chest pains that appear now to be related to the infection. Happily, she is on the mend. That's good. Hopefully the recovery continues.
  20. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) Dang, mine isn't. And she'll be 7 next week! You need a hug?
  21. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) From your pictogram I can conclude that: a ) your baby girl is crying all night and making you bang your head against the wall, and... b ) you are so tired the next day you just fall asleep at the computer, and... c ) you are now delerious. How'd I do? Actually, she's sleeping pretty well, thank you.
  22. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) No I could not. And I guess that's why we rant on, isn't it? :banghead :sleep
  23. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) What's John Elway going to use to brush his enormous teeth? Oh no, you didn't!
  24. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) I wonder if he was playing chicken and threatening to not claim the prize? I wonder if she could have forced him to claim it? Good question!
