  1. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) Post this in the "never a future mod folder" Good one!
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) so did I. What's really cool is it may circle around and hit again and again. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) You're just not getting enough sleep. I read the whole thing (twice!) and thought it was pretty cool. I don't cvover polar ecology in class until the end of this semester, so I'm sure by then there will be lots of good imagery of the collision to use. Then my whole class might look like :sleep :sleep :sleep :sleep :sleep :sleep You geeks!

We used to. Corn, hot peppers, green peppers, eggplant, tomotoes, onions, you name it. We had a bunch of apple trees too, but I've since let them go and only have one left that will probably go for firewood next year. Does that count as "earth's bounty?"

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) I thought I could run the 440. Then a relay at Waukegan East proved otherwise. I was run down and whipped. I took a 15 yard lead and turned it into a 30 yard loss. As I was runrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrunrun I could hear woosh whoosh whoosh whooshwhooshwhooshwhoosh whoosh whoosh and he was gone I know that sound. When I was in 8th grade at our conference meet, I was the #1 seed and was leading going into the last 100. I finished 3rd. :puke

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) Coolest thing. A couple years after I graduated they converted to metric. AFAIK, I hold the school's 880 record 1:54, the 1 mile record 4:33, and part of the 4x880 Relay records for now until enternity. I also hold the old Cross Country course record. and unless they tear down that subdivision, it will be mine forever So I got dat goin' for me . . . Our cross country course was at a Monestary. I didn't break any records. I did hold the Junior High 400 record for 3 years.

I'm kind of on the fence about this, Tex. Honestly, if I ran a camp, I'd probably be like this guy. I say this having no experience in trying to get people to work at a camp. IMHO, I think you overreacted a little, but as I know, when it comes to your children, it's very easy to overreact.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Speaking from a lifetime of experience. Well, considering that up until April my hair was down to my ass, and numerous times it was eggplant purple, and has been so for the past 20 years, I would be a little upset. But honestly, I never understood people who looked the way I did (and in similar styles) and got upset when peope would look at us weird, or discriminate against us. Seriously, I made myself look the way I did, and I knew I stood out like a sore thumb, and with the choice to look my own way, I knew I had to accept certain reactions, consequences, and situations. I have been in fights for my looks, I have been ridiculed for my looks and I have been turned down jobs for my looks. I, unlike people of certain races and creeds, could always do something to change the way the world percieved me, just by buying new clothes and by getting a haircut. But I wanted to walk a certain path, and people in this world want a certain look for their company, and I always understood that, and never fought it. My hair is now REALLY short, due to God thinking I would look better with A LOT of flesh exposed on top of my head. But I still don't always dress conservative, basically look like I fell out of a 50's "rebel teen flick". But now I have a pretty good job, but still don't question people who look at me a little weird. It's all cool. Very, very well put. I must say that I'm one of those people that look at you weird. I don't look to say, "You freak!" But, more to say, "What kind of job do you expect to get with 6 peircings in your lip and a tattoo on your forehead that says "f*** You." Again, Kid, very well thought out mature post.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) The other thing that is ironic is one of the most respected volunteers wears a pony tail. I doubt he asked him to cut it. I had long hair in high school and college. In fact when I was running cross country if I didn't feel the cadence of my hair hitting my shoulder during the 880, I couldn't run. 880? You're showing your age there, Tex.
  10. If they paid him to do the ad, I don't have a problem with it. Much like Bose pays these radio personalities to do commercials. But, if they paid him to back the plan and write articles and to encourage others, it's bulls***!

QUOTE(Pale Hose Jon @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 06:00 PM) Thank god i am too old to be spanked Unless you request it.
  12. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) I wonder what an acceptable amount of error is in a national election? Zero is obviously an impossibility. Two much and elections are questionable. .05% 1%? I wonder if there are tolerances established. Some of the error is relatively minor. I'll bet we all have friends who have moved and not sent in a change of address and just went back and voted in their old precinct. Perhaps mail in absentee ballots were filled out by friends and relations, etc. I seriously doubt there is a possibility to rig an election on a national or state scale before the election. Unless your the Daleys.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Go to "My Controls" and one of the options is to manage your ignore list. You will not automatically see any posts by the people you add. It will show they posted and give you an option to read that post. You will see any of their posts that are quoted by others. I realize that now. Thanks. I'll never use it.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) I am glad I am not the only one who laughs at that commericial "CUT THAT MEAT, CUT THAT MEAT!!!" "You're on my fantasy team!"
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Congrats to Peyton, but who the hell voted for Mike Vick? Are you kidding me? While, I don't think Vick should be MVP I think a case could be made just by looking at Atlanta's record with him versus without him.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Take a look at the group, and make sure that you have all of the same abilities and stuff like that as you had before. If it all works, let me know, and then I will add anyone else who wants to be in the group. Looks good as far as I can see. I guess you guys are good for something.
