QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I don't think you can 'convert' to atheism technically... "nonvert" maybe? Of course, our distributed informational pamphthlets (sp?) are very economical... just a bunch of blank pages. (I think I stole that from Paula Poundstone, but I think it's funny). That is funny.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Yasny, That is illogical. A god fearing man, will believe that so long as his actions are right in the eyes of god, it will not matter what the consequences are to the mortal world. A person who does not believe in god, will only worry about what the consequences are in the mortal realm, and not base policy on the immortal realm. Most poeple would never accept an atheist, but in reality you should want a person that only is worried about now, as opposed to what might happen after you die. SB Yep, I'm converting right now. Best arguement I've ever heard. :rolly

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) How bout this one from Billy Grahm at a National Prayer Service in which George W. Bush attended. courtesy cnn.com I still don't see a problem. I take it like this: He's saying "Thank You" for picking Presidents throughout history that are good decent men and not Hitlers. That's just my opinion on the quotes you've given me. I have no problem with these two men believing God has a hand in things like elections and freedom in general. I believe the same. Ronald Reagan believed the same.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 11:10 AM) He also wrote Le Freak, as a member of Chic. It's actually a reaction to not being let into Studio 54 one night. However the label didn't like the original chorus of "f*** Off." True story. Thank you VH1. Pop up video? I miss that show.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Apparently it's 1200 miles now. The police are talking to the family but they haven't said anything about what they've told them. I like your theory.. but, in case no one noticed.. she was abducted Wednesday night. If she's in a ditch in the desert.. I can't imagine she's in good shape. Tex, MOS.. have you guys heard anything about this on the news down there the past day & 1/2...? Yeah, at first they were saying last night and then they updated it to Wed night. I guess the silver lining would be it's not too cold if she is indeed injured in a ditch.

Shouldn't he be charged with public intoxication as well?
-
He shows up 800 miles away! What did he do with her? My theory: She had a gun ( Has anyone talked to the family?), she decided to not pull it out right away and waited until there were on the road, shot him and jumped out. But where is she now? In the desert? Was he not wounded too bad and was able to beat her up and leave her in a ditch. If I were them I'd have people driving every possible route between the two points.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jan 20, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Why in the heck would you want to snort anything off a toliet lid? Especially a public toliet lid? *Shudder* They're doing coke. I don't think they're probably worried about germs. Just a guess.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Of course there are racist people in the south, but we don't hold a monopoly on racism. Race relations are a problem everywhere, even in Palos Heights. I imagine being a black man is as difficult in Green Bay, Fargo, and Salt Lake City as it is in any southern town. Right on!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) How about the one where the single lady adopted the three little girls with AIDS, and then last year she herself was diagnosed with cancer. Man, that was the toughest one to watch, but in the end the mortgage was paid off for them. Amazing show. My only complaint is sometimes the crew seems to be playing the emotion card a bit for the camera. It feels forced emotion wise from Ty and gang. I know that they are all sincere, but I just wish the camera wouldn't hover when Preston or Paul break down every time. But in a sea of violence, sex, crime shows, and a glorification of debauchery, it's nice to see one show that has a heart and obviously cares about people. I swear, I frickin' ball my eyes out every week!

QUOTE(winodj @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 09:26 AM) I'm not bashing the President, I'm defending my freedom from stupid policy. I'm sure the President is a nice guy. His policies I disagree with. Because they are wrong for America. Wino, I absolutely respect that. You do an excellent job, unlike many, of expressing your disagreements and backing them with fact. Too many just bash to bash.

Actually, MIA/POW bracelets were way before any of the ones mentioned above. f*** ESPN!

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) PLus, most American airports can't handle the Airbus' wingspan. Who's going to pay for the upgrades to make the planes fit? Not the US airlines. Your tax dollars.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 18, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) The Bash Bush platform didn't work. You Democrats really need to try another approach. Maybe an actual platform will work in 2008 ... or are they afraid the American people will reject a democratic platform with a Mondale-esque emphasis? Yes, and rightly so considering that the Republicans control the Senate, House, a majority of Governorships, State Houses and State Senates. I'd be afraid too if I were them.
