Oh, I forgot about Lebron on Tim Duncan.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:58 AM) Not VC over Alonzo or Weis? I LOVE the dunk on Weis because he went up and over, but it was an international game against France. The dunk on Zo was awesome, but VC kinda went in sideways and pushed him out of the way. Still incredible.
-
I'd say Blake's dunk is up there, though I like his Mozgov dunk better. I'd take Pippen over Ewing and Kemp over Lister though as far as dunking on somebody.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 12:59 AM) For all the Clipper hate (or Del Negro hate), they're about to be 12-6 and that's with the best "point" guard in the NBA missing half a dozen games. They're still a work in progress, but that's a team I would reckon no western conference foe would want any part of in the first round. Mo Williams isn't going to hit 52% of his 3's all year. Not that that's the main reason, but they've been shooting hot. Still a ways to go.

And was this never posted?!?!?!? Dirk is awesome!!!

Slowmo doesn't even do it justice:

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Ukrainian women know how to protest. The Occupy movement could learn a lesson or two about getting world wide attention. Best. Protest. EVER.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) The media trying to create stories instead of just reporting them. Ya, that doesn't make any sense for Boston, no matter how much you think Thomas' political tirade created "division in the locker room", even despite his age.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 08:02 PM) I'd disagree, but that's not important as it will literally never happen. You'd trade Rose for Howard? The Bulls would be considerably worse if they did that.
-
Apparently there were some Tim Thomas/Viktor Stalberg rumors that were squashed today.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 04:41 PM) Definitely. I'm just saying that while being named a Euroleague MVP is very good and nice, it doesn't necessarily mean he'll transfer that same ability to the NBA game. Maybe he'll be great, sure, but if you have to include him in a Dwight Howard deal, you'd be borderline psychotic to refuse to include Nikola Mirotic because of something he might do three years down the line. Not that you necessarily believe they shouldn't trade Mirotic in a potential Howard deal, but still. I'm not new to international basketball, I know that not every player comes and pans out. And I never insinuated that he'd have the same ability at all. I simply saw his name pop up and figured I'd give people an update, since there was so much talk about him around the time of the draft. And ya, if he is needed to get a deal for Howard done, go to f***ing town. He's got the potential of an Andrea Bargnani in the future, but there are no guarantees. I'd have absolutely no qualms about dealing him.
-
QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 04:02 PM) Nikola Pekovic was a stud in Europe too. It's a completely different game. Also if you have a chance to trade for Dwight Howard, you do it. To say otherwise is just being silly. Pekovic is an entirely different kind of player.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) They still have to work out contracts and all that s*** don't they? Ya. He's on a 5 year deal but I don't know how many years he has left.

Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread

Emery pretty impressive so far in this press conference. But I do have 1 problem...he said he's most proud of the 2005 NFL Draft with the Falcons. He drafted Roddy White, Jonathan Babineaux and Michael Boley. The bad: he drafted Frank Omiyale. -
FWIW, Mirotic has stepped up a lot this season. People think he's a lot closer to the NBA than he was at the time of the draft. He's now starting at PF for Real Madrid and won Euroleague MVP last month.

QUOTE (G&T @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) Chicago has a ton a Bells. The beauty of Bells and Founders is that they are awesome, and a lot of people ignore them in favor of 3 Floyds. I love all 3!
-
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) From your part of the country I have recently gotten hooked on Bell's. I had a lot of Bells back when I was in GR, but I graduated. Back in Chicago now.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:12 PM) Fat Tire and all the New Belgium Brewing stuff has yet to make its way to Florida. And Woodford Reserve is delicious indeed. I wondered though when I saw the VIP for sale online. . . Is that just the normal Woodford Reserve but in a personalized bottle and gift box or is it a different bourbon blend altogether? From what I understand, it's just that you get a personalized bottle and awesome wooden gift box. But it may be aged a little longer.

ESPN really makes me not want to potentially work for ESPN in the future.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 01:26 PM) Now I really want to get into tennis but 3 things are going against me, 1. I suck at Tennis 2. I have nobody to play with 3. I hate winter I hate that the french/wimbledon are so far away. I started "playing" about 2 years ago, but with similar problems. No one to play with really, and no one to kinda teach me to get better. It's not as easy as they make it look. I'm the king of sending a forehand over the fence like I just swung to hit a home run.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 12:39 PM) It's like the World Cup where idiots all over are rooting for other countries. Yup, you live here. Are you f***ing kidding me?
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 28, 2012 -> 06:06 AM) Lol nobody cares about all 3 sports for the most part especially the 2nd two. That's fine. We care. That's why I put it in the catch-all. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:39 AM) I know we've gotten into it before, but which of the following statements would you make if the USA beat Serbia in any particular sport? a.) We lost b.) We won If the US beat Serbia, "we lost". We went 2/3 in the finals. Djokovic beat Nadal, the water polo team got gold against Montenegro but the handball team got silver against Denmark.
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) I actually think Federer is the one guy that at their best he could beat Djoko. He beat him at the French Open I think last year and should have beat him at the US Open. I wish tennis was more open it really seems like only 4 guys have a shot at every event and even of those 4 it seems every final is going to be Nadal/Djoko at this rate. Eh, I have my reservations about counting that French Open semi too much. Is was the highest pressure match of Djokovic's career with the unbeaten streak on the line as well as the #1 ranking, and obviously the fact that he'd have to face the most dominant clay court player ever in the final. That first set was extremely close and when Fed pulled through with the tiebreaker, Nole completely lost composure in the 2nd set. He has his opportunities to come back and made it a match for a while, but that was the best I've ever seen Federer serve in my life. Oh, and I'm totally with you, Federer is the only one of the top 4 that I don't like. In fact, I hate Federer. A lot.
-
QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:20 AM) I actually like Nole, I just didn't care much for last year because it was domination lol. The only one in the top4 I don't care for is Federer, but I do enjoy Federer/Nadal matches for that very reason. But yeah, today I think Djokovich played better except the 5th set which Nadal I guess nerves or whatever messed it up. In the semi's though I think Murray played a better match especially the 3rd set where like I've said I felt if anything he should have won that a lot easier. He just ran out of steam and Djokovich seemed to hit a 2nd wind. As for not playing his best, I don't think anyone played their best honestly which is usual for the Australian Open... still some sick tennis though. It kind of boggles my mind that this is the same Novak Djokovic I watched 2 years ago. He used to get so rattled so easily. He would let the smallest things bother him, and now, here he is, outlasting and outwilling Rafael freakin Nadal, a 10 time grand slam champion, in a 5 set final. His transformation since the 2010 US Open is remarkable. And the fact that winning the Davis Cup did so much for his confidence says a lot about how much he cares. The talent was always there, but the mentality wasn't. I watched him win his 1st grand slam in 2008 and I thought he'd take off from there. He did, just not when expected. It's hard to say, but he could very well be on his way to a Roger Federer-esque run. They both really hit their primes around the same age and right now, Djokovic has the edge over all the top competitors.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) After seeing Indy's collapse this year, I'd say in most cases he is right. You're telling me you put Peyton on the Browns or the Rams and they're SB contenders? I don't even think the Colts this year WITH HIM would be that good. That defense was just awful.
