  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I havent watched that show since the original host died (Mel Allen? What was his name?) It just doesnt have the same flair it used to have, they dont have consistent hosts. I think that Bob Eucker should host it. Don't they have guest player-hosts from then on? Ernie Banks singing makes me sick.... :puke EDIT: Watching Cubs fans crying and talking about their curse =
  2. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) The only mention of the Sox in this TWIB is AJ's walkoff against LA. It's basically the Derek Lee version of TWIB....
  3. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Thanks for the link - somehow I completely missed that. No problem. Any time!
  4. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) What happened? (I don't remember that or hearing about it...) Cubs Fans Damage Minoso Statue
  5. That still pisses me off that the b****ass Cubs fans f***ed up Minnie's statue!
  6. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) This thing just reminds me how much I miss Ross. Hell yeah. Memories of Timo botching a catch at 1B still haunts me at night...
  7. I remember going to the last game before the ASG last season vs the Mariners and Shingo came in the 9th to get the save. They had just added the Gong and Shingo Time thing on the scoreboard. The crowd went absolutely crazy! Awesome memories...
  8. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) 2 outs, position yourself for the out not the runner on 3rd. Watch the replay...
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Wow this is actually pretty solid rain delay theater. Hell yeah. I'm getting mad goosebumps watching this s***!
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:35 PM) POLL: Soxtalk Loves Kevin Walker WOW! That is probably the stupidest we at Soxtal have ever been as a combined group! :headshake
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) thats what I remembered. just checking. Yeah, Im 99% sure that is what happened. Why would you play all the way back on the grass with the winning run on 3rd?
  12. Man....I like this Sox Pride thing they are showing now during the Rain Delay...lots of great Sox memories. "C'mon Timo! C'mon Timo! SAFE!"
  13. I really think Bogut and Williams will have great careers. For some reason, I think Felton will be a big ass bust. Granger was a great pick and Stoudemiore was a steal with the 31st pick.
  14. Randolph Morris, C, Kentucky....give this guy a chance and get rid off Reiner!
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:16 PM) Can someone look at this and tell me that Uribe started on the outfield grass? I have a hard time believing that Uribe would position himself on the outfield grass with the winning run on 3rd. My work server prevents me from looking at the replay, i am working on memory from last night. I'm pretty sure he didn't start off in the outfield grass. I recall Hawk saying how Ozzie brought the infield in and how Polanco could easily bloop one over the infielders. Uribe had to range back and to his right, plant, and make a strong throw and he did. Amazing play. Probably the best of the season so far.
  16. Well, I can't argue with those 2 picks. Both deserve it. Halladay for Cy Young is a toss-up but as long as they didn't choose Kenny Rogers, I'm happy lol.
  17. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) Farmio and Rooney were just saying that Sox players got pissed off at the Tigers for laughing when it looked like the Tigers were going to win the game in the 9th and then again in the 13th. The fact that we actually DID win the game is enough revenge for me. Reminds me of their reaction in game 1 too!
  18. QUOTE(VAfan @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Okay, I looked. I agree that Vizquel (and very few other SS) could not have made a throw from that far. But Uribe didn't have to range that far to get to the ball. The reason the throw was so far was because he started the play in the outfield grass. Vizquel would have been positioned in the infield dirt instead of the outfield grass (knowing his arm is not as strong), but would still have likely gotten to the ball, and from the dirt would have had a very good chance of making the throw in time to get Polanco. The marginal difference is not worth keeping Uribe if we could get SF to part with Vizquel. I disagree. IMO, the fact that Uribe DID range that far and DID make an awesome strong throw, AND he's not even 100% yet, makes me feel better about him than Vizquel. I think there is no comparison offensively. Uribe is better.
  19. Thats a lot to give up but I think it is worth it. Its a 5 for 2 deal but I think it would help this team out a lot. Vizquel's OBP would look good in the 9 spot and Schmidt is, well, Schmidt. I'd rather give up Sweeney than Anderson but it would put more pressure on Anderson to perform. It's a good deal but you can also argue Uribe is slowly turninbg it around and Uribe AT 100% is better offensively and defensively than Vizquel. Probably not defensively but it's close.
  20. I find it hard to imagine the DBacks will get any of our relievers now that Marte is down.
  21. Chris Snopek Craig Wilson Mark L. Johnson Mike Caruso Bobby Simmons
  22. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Can you make a picture of Walker getting punched in the face? I'd like to see something like that. I would as well! Ozzia Walker
