  1. QUOTE (MAX @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:16 PM) So how did Edwin look tonight? Fantastic.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:15 PM) Yeah, I hear you...but ideal insinuates something is actually possible... It still certainly is. It's mental with Beckham. We know he has the talent. He needs to go back to just swinging and not thinking about every little mechanical thing. He's putting a lot of pressure on himself. Luckily he's been able to stay loose in the clubhouse and is still defending well.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:13 PM) How can a ball go over your head late? Why was he playing so far in? Probably because it's Brian Bixler.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) Beckham is not going to fit in the second slot, as badly as we want him to. Hence, the ideal world.
  5. In an ideal world, the best lineup the Sox could put out, as currently constructed, is: Ramirez Beckham Quentin Konerko Dunn Rios Pierzynski Morel Pierre
  6. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:57 PM) Dale Tallon is secretly still on payroll. I think a Crawford/Salak goaltending tandem for the low price of $3 million is gonna be a steal. Salak might be the best part of the Skille deal down the road. But realistically, with how good Frolik was down the stretch, anything we get from Salak is a bonus. Skille was kind of awful.
  7. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) We now have the Panthers' top two prospects from 2006 in Frolik and Olesz. Kinda funny. We also have Salak. And they now have Skille and Campbell lol.
  8. Man. This team. We score the game tying run on a wild pitch then K and popout with the bases loaded and 1 out.
  9. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:29 PM) Wowee, never thought they'd be able to dump Campbell's contract, but they've been able to do that and not get a bad contract in return for doing so. Seen that Richards, Kaberle, Pitkanen etc. have been mentioned as possible FA targets. Do the Hawks go really hard after a #1 center like Richards, or try to sign a real good defender to replace Campbell as their 1st priority? It seems that a 2nd line center has been priority #1 for a long time. If they don't want to (potentially) overpay, you can get a Brooks Laich as well as another solid d-man and save some money. But you have to think Brad Richards is the guy they sent Brouwer and Soupy out for unless they're going to be active with trades.
  10. QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) Muggsy Bogues played a lot of seasons and was 5'3". How many 5'3" players could say that before him? Does that make him a very good player? (Note: this is a very stupid argument, but really, yours wasn't anything to write home about either) Tony Kukoc was a below average NBA shooter. Who gives a f*** if he's tall or shot well in Europe? You didn't say "Kukoc was a good shooter given his height" or "Prior to Dirk, Kukoc was as good as they come for shooting big men" (which I don't know if I'd agree with either, but I'm not putting the time into looking that up now). You said that Kukoc was a very good outside shooter, and that simply isn't true. He was below average for most of his career. If you want to be generous, you could say he was average (at best) for his career, but even that isn't true looking at the numbers posted above. Either way, Mirotic is leaps and bounds a better shooter than Kukoc. He's a thinner Stojakovic. Stojakovic is also 6'10.
  11. Olesz has a $1mil buyout but it's 6 years.
  12. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:17 PM) That's corrected now with the one-for-one deal, right? Correct. 15 men currently under contract.
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) I want Sopel back regardless. He is the ultimate 6th defender. I wouldn't mind Campoli at the right price, but we need a penalty killer big time on the D side. Richards would be great and allow Bolland to center the third line every night. Actually, Sopel instead of Campoli makes perfect sense. Each pairing is balanced. Sopel/Leddy 3rd pairing would be nice.
  14. Brad Richards + Tomas Kaberle would be epic. Kane - Toews - Smith Hossa - Richards - Sharp Frolik - Bolland - Bickell Pisani - Kruger - Olesz Keith - Seabrook Hjalmarsson - Kaberle Leddy - Campoli Crawford Salak
  15. Campbell to FLO for Rostislav Olesz (3 yr, 3.125 cap hit) and the rights to Steven Reinprecht.
  16. Rostislav Olesz is one of the guys coming back to the Hawks. 25 year old F, 7th overall pick in 2004.
  17. Dale Tallon, Chicago LOVES you so much right now! Thanks for taking the horrible contract you originally signed!
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) It'd be nice if once in a while the Sox could throw somebody out on the bases. Are we the worst in the AL in allowing runners to steal? By far.
  19. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) This is a revelation to you? He hasn't hit a ball hard since the Clinton administration. Trust me, I know. But there's just such little hope that he'll break out of it.
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 09:16 PM) 1-2 and he's swinging for the fences. Its the Greg Walker approach that even opposing pitchers are making fun of... Thats simply an uneducated statement.
  21. Man, Pierre isn't even hitting the ball hard. Frustrating.
  22. I seem to be good luck for Edwin. Every time I watch him, he looks dominant.
