  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) I love Kong, but this trailer did nothing for me. Purty FX, but it seems to be the same as the original, and that one sure didn't need any fixing at all. Just seems like a waste of a bunch of money. Shame the studios think that kids have no use for the originals. Like minds... Now, excuse me while I go watch some Haryhausen on DVD.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Shark attacks against humans are extremely rare anywhere. But especially so out of the water....
  3. QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) Disney warmly welcomes anyone ready to spend assloads of cash. That they do. But at the same time I see why the adoptive home of Gay Days is in a Disney park and not at Universal Studios or Sea World or Busch Garden... or Holy Land [/color=green]. As much as they have it wrong on plenty of other fronts, you'll never see as gay-friendly a megacorp outside of te west coast.
  4. QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Disney's Gay Day is not a Disney Sanctioned event. Lots of gay folks wear red shirts and go to the park that day. That's all that happens. True, it's not a Disney event per se, but it is warmly welcomed at Magic Kingdom. I've taken my family to Magic Kingdom that day in three of the last for years, including the last one just a couple of weeks ago. My kids are utterly unphased by men holding hands with each other, women holding hands with each other etc., probably because they have been exposed to it with friends that are gay couples since before thay can remember. We all got a kick out of this huge dude walking around the park wearing Tinkerbell fairy wings and an XXL t-shirt that said 'Princess' on it, this past year though.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) So if we enter into talks with North Korea, we're negotiating with terrorists there, too, aren't we? There's no winning with anyone. That's the point - that the world is not as black and white as the Administration paints it. 'You're either with us or against us'... 'we don't negotiate with terrorists'.... It's all bulls*** cowboy rhetoric that has very little bearing on reality.
  6. Very nice. TAKE THAT, Tiny Tim!!
  7. QUOTE(Credepopsup @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Shouldn't that date for question 21 be "Expires 27th June"?? If that date (26th) is right we only had 10 minutes to answer.. ^^^^^ Yeah, what Crede said!
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 01:33 PM) What is your problem? apathy?
  9. The Narnia thing will be interesting if they do try to get the "vamily values" Christians on board with it, since the stories still have the witchcraft/magical elements that were such a sticking point with the Potter books and films.
  10. Send me a cask of Flowers Bitter and I'll send you anything, up to and including my first born child.
  11. I guess "We don't negotiate with terrorists" is another one to cross off in the Big Book of Bush Bulls***... http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=883044 There are a couple of good ones in here, too. Sounds like terrorists... Sounds like terrorists... Sounds like negotiation.
  12. A belated to both you youze.
  13. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) If they have more fans than us then surely their fans are not in the Miami area. Every time I see highlights of one of their home games it looks like Olympic in Montreal. Anybody know what their attendance is so far this year, or where you can access that info? Here's 2005 MLB attendance figs: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/attendance Marlins rank 27th, ahead of only Cleveland, KC, and The Rays.
  14. Flub Fans = Lemmings Sox Fans = A select group of enlightened baseball fans Now let us all do the Superior Dance.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 11:52 PM) I watched a lot of PBS in elementary school. That and the Simpsons. Thus cancelling each other out.
  16. I think Vanna digs him... http://vaderfortune.ytmnd.com/
  17. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) I don't need a constitutional amendment. If I see you burning a flag, I deck you and put it out. If it's worth it to you...light it again...We'll see who get's tired of expressing themself first. No need for an amendment. Get ready to beat up a bunch of Boy Scouts. Or will they have to throw retired flag in the garbage now instead of burning them?
  18. The Cat Stevens soundtrack from Harold and Maude. That Pink Floyd soundtrack from Wizard of Oz
  19. Sadly, they've just moved on to other targets. Oh, NO!!! our kids schools teaching (*gasp!*) tolerance and respect!?! The old guy gets it. Why can't the rest of the UberChristian homophobes? Oh, yeah, because they're UberChristian homophobes. I admit my copy of the Good Book is a little dusty. Can somebody please point me to that "Blessed are the Hatemongers" verse?
  20. Joel Veitch does it all, man! He's the Flash animaniac who did the crazy I Like the Moon spongemonkey video that Quizno's ended up gegtting him to redo fro their ad campaign, and also the Flying Kittens video for Gay Bar. Now it turns out he's also the fron man for a killer London-based ska band... Too cool. First Drink of the Day is pretty darn good too!
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) That's the problem when you are on the leading edge of technology. Sometimes it is the bleeding edge of technology. Way too literally, in this case. Maybe the recall is just so they can put " "s around "rullet-resistent" or a ** next to it with a disclaimer that says, "Not actually bullet-resistent."
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 07:34 AM) While we are banning flag burning because we do not agree with that expression, let's also ban the liberal media because we do not agree with them. First you would have to actually find it, though. You'd think it would be easy. You know, just go after the all the major networks that are running the Downing Street Memo as their top story... Oh, uuhm... wait... there has to be one somewhere... Meanwhile in other news, America shrugs, yawns, and goes back to sleep.
  23. I still have not gotten over the horror of the Dino DeLaurentes remake from the 70's. Of course, next to the criminally bad sequel "King Kong Lives" (where they revived Kong and gave him a giant Jarvex 7 artoficial heart that they happened to have lying around... ), Dino's remake is a work of art. My problem is that I love the original 1933 Cooper/Schoedsack version so much with all that great stop-action animation that I almost hate seeing it messed with. But who knows, Jackson may pull it off. Me, I'm still waiting for him to do the big-budget sequel to his masterpiece"Meet the Feebles".
