Brain recognizes famous people
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) So a single cell gets all geeked up at seeing someone famous? Man, they should have got you to write the abstract to the paper!

Brain recognizes famous people
QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Wild, even in the courses I took this past fall/spring they were talking about how silly it is to expect one cell to respond to something and that labelled line and distributed coding is the way to go. I am honestly shocked by this. You mean, a handful of cells in your brain not dedicated to processing Aniston/Kudrow girl-on-girl possibilities are really lighting up right now. Wait... sorry. The Aniston/Kudrow cells are from my brain.

Sox Music...
As a kid in the early 80s I vividly remember Nancy always following up Take Me Out to the Ballgame with the theme from the Mickey Mouse Club for the 7th inning stretch. When did she begin and when did she stop that?

QUOTE(zach61 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I also used to have friends of mine stay in my house to watch my dog when I went on vacation, and they all complained about some guy in a rain suit standing in the doorway while they were sleeping. Uhm, sorry about that. Hope I didn't creep any of your guests out.

Everybody loves a car wreck
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) I don't see 2642 posts as something to be proud of. Most that number is just fluff, useless posts that are posted for no reason but to raise post counts. I'm not including Knightni in this or even Jabroni but there are a few people on the board lately that have been posting crap.

QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) This morning on Mike and Mike they were talking about how the Sox could go .500 the rest of the way out and win 94 games. I guess that'd be 95 now. That's pretty dern good. I'm not advocating going .500 for the rest of the season, just pointing out that given that I don't feel that they will start playing at a .500 or lower level anytime soon, we're in a perty good place right now. First off, I knocked on all wood objects within knocking distance... Second of all, HELL YEAH!! To think that .500 ball (and perish the thought!!!) from here on out would still get us 95 wins is astounding. Historians here, correcte me if I'm wrong, but I believe we have only had one 100-win season in team history, and that was championship year 1917. They only had a half-dozen less gemes then compared to now, so it's a pretty comparable situation and will be a memorable feat WHEN (not if) we do it this year. Then again, the 1915 team that we're now being compared to (ie, best out of the gate starts in franchise history) seems to have cooled off quite a bit, since they only ended up with 93 wins and we all know that was not enough to make the playoffs that year. But do I see us cooling off like that in the near future...? HELL NO!!! Dare I say it... well, I did knock on the wood and all... OK, here goes... This is starting to feel like... "The Year"!
