  1. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 09:23 PM) It's true Iowa cuisine. I learned to love it in Emporia, KS.
  2. It's really a declaration of reality. Although technically part of Serbia, Kosovo has had little to do with the Serbian government and has been out of its control for nearly a decade now. However, sometimes reality has no business in politics. I think that although this separation was probably inevitable, the way Kosovo's leaders are trying to make this happen, coupled with Europe's response is pretty poor.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 06:56 PM) How does gas station pizza even come into a real conversation about pizza??? Because it's actually pizza. And yeah, it's nowhere in the same league as most of the places people are talking about, but after a long night at the bar. A slice from Casey's is pretty damn good.
  4. QUOTE(Pants Rowland @ Feb 15, 2008 -> 11:48 AM) Did you go get an X-ray? I was concerned I broke mine the other day sledding with my kid. I hit a bump and came down HARD on my posterior. I have been popping the advil since and I think it is getting better but I am concerned it is more than a deep bruise. Did you confirm yours was broken? No I didn't confirm with an X Ray, but my tailbone did shift somewhat, so im reasonably sure. Since all they can do is prescribe pain meds that I don't need or want, I'm self diagnosing and gingerly sitting and standing. And walking is no problem. Biking and stomach crunches? Not so much.
  5. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Feb 17, 2008 -> 11:50 AM) I'll take any of those over the crap that is here in ann arbor. Seriously, who thinks that Pizza Hut is quality pizza??? Only Michiganders can make a great food horrible. Anybody ever have Nancy's stuffed over in Elmhurst? Whenever I go back I always get some of that, mmmhmmm!! Don't they have "Pizza House" in AA? Pretty decent for Chicago style when its not in Chicago.
  6. Grandma Pizza is delicious by the way.
  7. If'n you don't mind me officially joining. I'm still losing weight, but the gym has been difficult to get to for me since I fell down a flight of icy stairs this week and broke my tailbone.
  8. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 05:16 PM) I guess it means that McCain only really supports campaign finance reform if it doesn't apply to him.
  9. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 01:46 PM) I doubt that's what's going on here, but as there's no way of predicting the unforseeable (and the Clintons know that), they'd risk it. It could just be that Obama wants a big win in VA and won't get out of the Chesapeake area to meet with Edwards til Weds at the earliest, btw.
  10. But the delegates that Romney and Huck control can force a very conservative VEEP nod for McCain though.
  11. Wisconsin is vitally important to Clinton, VA too but less so. A 20 point Obama win in VA is a blow to her, because that means WI is probably likely to lean in Obama's camp too. A close win in VA means that her machine is back on track and might be able to pull off big wins in OH and TX. This weekend was a hit for her because she didn't expect to lose by 18 points in Maine. She expected a narrow victory. She didn't expect to be blown out in Washington or Nebraska either. She thought she'd peel enough delegates off Obama to maintain her delegate lead with Supers that have committed. That didn't happen. But blowouts in VA and WI means its about over, I think.
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Feb 11, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) They should cancel them. The only award show that is judged by sales instead of artistic achievement. That Amy Winehouse album was excellent. Mostly because of the Dap-Kings backing her, and in my opinion was very much deserving of the awards she received. Also, the Marc Ronson album that came out (her producer) was also really good and should have gotten more exposure. So, I'm kinda all about the new Nada Surf and MGMT right now.
  13. You know, I hear an awful lot about what you don't like about other candidates, but I sure don't hear a lot about what you like about your candidate.
  14. I really hate it when a campaign never gets around to hiring me.
  15. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2008 -> 11:55 PM) I'm thinking that losing 48 pounds before Saturday night might be a bit too challenging for me. Amputations would have to be involved. I'm planning on being down to my birthweight by Memorial Day. Gonna be the cutest lung on the beach!
  16. Actually, that's what they're saying and it's probably true. They said that the influx of supporters donating to the Clinton campaign to keep the ship afloat is what's enabling our campaign staffers to keep getting paid. So, it was a publicity ploy. To get Clinton staffers paid because they are running out of money. I don't see the problem.
  17. Personally, I think its wonderful that campaign staff who work incredibly hard and long hours are actually going to be able to get paid.
  18. I think its awesome to talk about disagreements and things you don't like about a candidate or an administration. However, in the last few days, a lot of the vitriol has been dry humping the line between honest discussion and out and out over the top craziness and unpleasantness.
  19. Supporting your candidate is great. Sharing about how awesome they are might win your candidate a few more votes. Ruthlessly trashing your candidate's opponent is not great. Ruthlessly trashing people who disagree with your viewpoint is not great. It doesn't win your candidate friends at all, instead it just makes them less likely to even give your candidate a second look. It's wonderful to see so much passion here. It's a shame to see it used in such a poor misdirected manner at times. Thanks, Rex. *Pinned because I can, and because it's starting to be an issue here.*
  20. South Carolina and Georgia would be competitive for Obama. North Dakota and Idaho aren't that delgate rich, by the way. NJ, CT and NY are.
  21. Unless they want another 1964. There's a sense among a lot of Conservatives that the party needs another Goldwater moment.
  22. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:33 PM) I can't find a link, but somewhere on NPR this morning, a gentleman who claimed expertise in this field said that concern about terror (or US involvement) in this case was overblown. A couple of points he made were that , because of corrosion and seismic activity, cables are compromised quite often and that there is a fleet of ships (25, I believe he said) that motor around the globe fixing broken cables. He said that the recent cut cables were a coincidence. I'll try to find the link. It seems that ATC doesn't update their website until the afternoon, nor does the Future Tense feature that I think the story may have run on. It is possible. It would seem that there isn't exactly high demand or growth on the internets in that region, and as such maintenance of the lines in a relatively unstable part of the world might not be a priority.
  23. McCain has more delegates only because of winner take all rules. McCain is winning the nomination by winning states he'll get killed in during the general... like New York, Connecticut, New Jersey. Weird how that works, huh?
  24. Romney was done pouring his money into a sinkhole of a campaign and the realization that he couldn't spend enough in a three way race to win enough of the conservative vote. Given that McCain sent his delegates to Huckabee, and I'm guessing convinced Thompson to stay in through South Carolina to siphon enough votes away from Romney to give him that win, that Romney hates McCain more than anyone else in that field.
  25. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 7, 2008 -> 12:38 PM) Oh bulls***. Nobody cares, or at least no one cares that matters. You'd be surprised how many Democrats I ran into Tuesday who said they wouldn't vote for Obama because his middle name is Hussein. Therefore he must be muslim.
