I think Romney considered it and that's why he waited a week or so, if the conservative base started to coalesce around Huck, that's where the endorsement would have gone.

Yeah, I think she will lose ground. I think a best case scenario for Clinton is a 15 delegate gain.

Predictions: TX - Obama +6 OH - Either/Or +1 RI - Clinton +9 VT - Obama +23
-
Prediction: Obama's turnout overwhelms pollsters in TX. Obama wins, and its not as close as the polls indicate. Clinton keeps it close in OH, winner in that state will take it with a two to four point margin - giving Clinton a net gain of under 10 delegates. Clinton wins RI by about 10 points, Obama takes VT by 20+. Clinton won't gain more than 10 delegates on Obama tomorrow.

That's classic Senate collegiality.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) Well if anything this sure makes Obama more Presidential... He is able to lie straight faced to the American people, and then blame other people for what was said, with a dash of cover-up. Hillary should be proud, this could have been a play right out of Bill's playbook. Unless Goolsbee isn't on the payroll. In which case, this is a controversy about what a volunteer said.

Oil hit an indisputable all time high today, hitting 103.95 a barrel. I believe the consensus inflation adjusted high was 103.76.

Apple in 2001-2002 was at 10 dollars a share, with the iPod coming out and no debt.

Obama doing something that I thought was shady???

I guaran-damn-tee you that the list was not obtained illegally. Volunteers share lists. All the time. I have lists of volunteers from four and five years ago that I still use when I work in those districts. Having phone numbers is not illegal. -
I agree that it wasn't the issue. But I think having some focus might have been the difference between a 72 win season and an 81-85 win season.

I'm sure it's being saved for an October surprise smear.

After the surge is pulled back, the remaining force will be larger than it was pre surge.

If he bought the list, the University had to offer it for sale. It's also possible that the list is publicly available and a student volunteer brought a directory into the campaign headquarters which is not illegal. -
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 01:29 PM) What about a person born to American parents in a foreign hospital? I'm pretty sure they count as natural born citizens as well. It's my understanding that according to the definition provided by the First Congress of 1790, that would be natural born. However, that is a bit trickier of an issue.

Would the Slurpee machine be affected? Cause that might affect my decision.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) Thats why some of us were screaming about this when they started agressively cutting rates. Here's my other stupid question: if introducing liquidity into the market by forcing rates lower is weakening the dollar, and since market trends over the last year have shown that oil tends to rise on a weaker dollar, and conventional wisdom is that the high price of oil is a large factor in the inflation problems that we are beginning to see. So if higher interest rates would boost the dollar, wouldn't that give investors a reason to move away from oil speculation thereby easing a main inflation pressure? -
He was a funny critic. I disagreed with many of his positions, but I always found him to be generally funny and his magazine was an enjoyable read through most of the 90s. His son, Christopher, is also a talented satirist in his own right.

I have my first interview with a non-ponzi scheme company since July.

Dumb question: wouldn't cutting rates be the worst thing to do right now for inflation? If we're facing a stagnating economy anyway, and lower rates = weak dollar and higher oil prices... why wouldn't hiking rates help? Shouldn't that boost the dollar which I wager would also reduce oil prices because the dollar would be seen as a more attractive investment? -
The first congress defined "Natural Born American" as being born to American parents in 1790 I believe. Being born on American territory and any military or diplomatic outpost is considered sovereign territory would be considered America in the eyes of international law. This is a BS thing.

I think our lack of focus cost us the playoffs in the last half of 2006 and could have been the difference in 2007. I hope we see the intensity we deserve to see from the White Sox, no matter how poorly talented you think they might be. If we see the 2007 model of Ozzie "I Give Up" Guillen managing at any point this year, I think we need to find a new manager sooner than later.

Raveonettes are coming to Hoboken, NJ on the last Sunday in March. Very excited about that. Lust Lust Lust is really starting to grow on me. Also learning to love Dengue Fever. Picture traditional Cambodian music meets 60's psychedelic pop.
