Nuke, last time I checked LCR wasn't a lawyer. So cool it already.

Iraq troop withdrawal to begin this summer.

I thought that the downfall started when grammar was left by the wayside in school. -
QUOTE(minors @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) OK got me on the bible thing, I have never read it or gone to church and never will. And it was already said by LCR and Rex so your are overkilling this. Seems liberals like to find a mistake then pounce on it instead of answering the points I made. There is real little difference in DP or LWOP in many areas. Again serving 50 years in prison till your death or get the death penalty. To me if your going to convict an innocent man and take away his life might as well execute him. The true problem is we need to correct the wrongs in the CJ system not abolishing the DP. Dying in prison is no better. If there are wrongs in the Criminal Justice system that you even seem to admit are there, why would you advocate using the Death Penalty while we're trying to get our system straightened out? Too many times, evidence has pointed to death row inmates not actually doing the crime of which they were convicted. How many times is too many to put an innocent man to death for a crime he didn't commit? In my book, it's one.

It could be done really simply. All that Sirius/XM would really have to do to make a merger happen is divest itself of one or two of its combined 5 satellites and return one satellite broadcasting license to the FCC. Doing that, I would wager that the monopoly aspect of the merger would probably get waived.

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) I never used the bible as a justification. I just can't not stomach the fact of killers getting lose and killing again it has happened many times, if there dead they can't kill anymore You said it was a commandment. It is not. That's all.
-
It might very well be a different scenario. If the market can't sustain two satellite services, a merger may be necessary for one to survive.

QUOTE(minors @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 05:45 PM) I will take a stab at it. There is also a commandment that says Eye for an Eye which I take to mean that if you kill an knowingly innocent person then your life has to forfeited. That's Hammurabi's Code, not the Ten Commandments. It was never "Judeo-Christian" law.

These are wildfire battalions right? The bulk of their force would be doing manual labor like digging fire trenches, etc, right?

> Supreme Court rules for Kansas Death penalty
Rex Kickass replied to minors's topic in The Filibuster
This is being seen as a victory for States' Rights. Which confuses me. Although this is a law that was passed by the State Legislature, it was found unconstitutional by the State Supreme Court. -
This thread is now getting its "one sniping post" warning. Any more sniping and its locked, got it?

The game threads update much faster than the rest of the internet. I hate following games from NJ because I only get to see about four of them a year.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/06/...o.ap/index.html WASHINGTON (AP) -- Fourteen Saudi Arabians were released on Saturday from the detention center at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and transferred to their home country, the Pentagon said. One was released because U.S. officials determined the prisoner was no longer an enemy combatant. The designation of enemy combatant means the suspect can be held without charges in a military prison without the protections of the U.S. criminal justice system, such as the right to counsel. The other Saudis were released after an administrative review process determined they could be transferred. The releases bring to 310 the number of detainees who have departed Guantanamo to other governments, including Albania, Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Kuwait, Morocco, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden and Uganda. About 450 detainees remain at Guantanamo, including 120 who are considered eligible for transfer or release. Decisions in those cases depend on discussions between the United States and other nations.

Guillen doubts he'll attend sensitivity training
Rex Kickass replied to Linnwood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) Unfortunately, Ozzie's use of the word *** did offend gay groups. Whether or not he actually intends to attend sensitivity training he is out of line to say he won't attend. No matter what anyone thinks of Selig, he is the commissioner. Making him look worthless by ignoring the punishment he hands down does nobody any good, and could easily lead to stronger sanctions against Ozzie,ie. a long suspension. Ozzie being Ozzie doesn't fly. You either accept your punishment or if you don't want to play by the rules, go find something else to do with your life. The team has won 8 in a row, but Ozzie's still the story. Its ridiculous. He also said in this interview "I don't need this job." By the way. -
She's not that awful looking.

Forcing people to live as much as three blocks from places where children gather will just make pedophiles buy more "free candy" vans. I fail to see where this actually does anything at all.

The article said that Comedy Central bought the rights to all 72 existing episodes too.
