  1. In somewhat related news, I saw Captain Stubing from the Love Boat autographing things on the inaugural sailing of the Crown Princess last week.
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) Uhh.....what the hell are you talking about? Sorry, I know what you meant, but after a few beers - it read the other way. Never mind.
  3. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 08:04 PM) People's rights are not worthless. People who abuse the legal system to try to free criminals, embolden child molestors, keep law enforcement away from terrorists and take away people's right to free expression of religon ARE. Why do you want terrorists to enforce the laws?
  4. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 07:29 PM) Seriously, it's like some of the ACLU crowd doesn't want terrorists to be exposed and prosecuted. Because we're infringing on their Constitutional rights to declare jihad on America and to obtain weapons and money from al Qaeda operatives... or something. I just don't get it. Terrorists like Rush Limbaugh? The ACLU fights to protect the rights of Americans. You may think your rights are worthless, but plenty of us in this country disagree.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 04:50 PM) If you were interviewing someone.. and they said "I don't feel I have enough exp to do this job", would you say "ok.. bubye..." or consider hiring and training them. Say their proficiency level was about 70%... Whats your gut feeling about him?
  6. Jack White is in the Raconteurs. Brendan Benson as well, if that's who I'm thinking of. Kind of an indie rock supergroup.
  7. We've talked this out I think. Closed.
  8. It's just creepy. Almost the same word she said yesterday came out of your mouth today. You were more eloquent though.
  9. Minors, are you Ann Coulter? Cause its just like the interview with Neil Cavuto yesterday.
  10. Rasmussen's presidential polls are very good. But they actually refused to call who would win the election. I remember, I followed every poll religiously. A lot of polling firms refused. Zogby used a different polling method, that is new and seemingly inaccurate. They lean GOP because most of their clientele is Republican.
  11. Rasmussen has a daily tracking number. It does tend to be a little higher than most polls, because Rasmussen is a GOP leaning poll outfit. But they are generally accurate. They are the only approval rating that changes daily. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) Thank you. Well, there does indeed appear to be a spike. But its a rolling poll, and the average over the current period is still 42 or so. If he finishes the month and goes 44 or higher, I'd call it material. According to Rasmussen, the 7 day average is still 41.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 12:53 PM) John Kerry did not advocate anything in the 2004 election. He advocated reconstruction. He advocated reconciliation. He didn't advocate a firm timetable for withdrawal of troops in 2004. He didn't advocate leaving, but he did advocate a different course on the ground - focused on reconstruction and reconciliation to create peace on the ground. He did say, that had he known in 2002 what he knew in 2004, he wouldn't have voted to give the President the blank check that the President received. Today, I'm no John Kerry fan. But in 2004, I can honestly say that although John Kerry didn't agree with the way we started the job, he did want it finished and finished the right way.

  14. It would be this. http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/06/23/D8IDMQ180.html The Bush administration asked the New York Times to hold a story regarding a new surveillance program tracking financial transfers. The New York Times declined. So did the L.A. Times and the Wall Street Journal - although oddly enough - the WSJ was never asked to hold the story.
  15. There are no media watches in the Filibuster. Thanks.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) In 2004, he didn't say that, exactly, but he ran as the 'anti-war' candidate, and he's even more on that bridge now. In fact, so much so, that most of the Dems are distancing themselves from him because they think he's a tool. John Kerry did not advocate a withdrawal from Iraq in the 2004 election.
  17. The only thing that worries me is our reaction. And just for clarification about the deal that we struck in 1994 to avoid a war. It was never actually funded and we never followed through on our end of the deal. Why? Because a Republican Congress refused to fund it. Still throughout the Clinton administration, North Korea did not actively begin an enrichment program or seriously advance any nuclear program. That didn't begin until 2001, when the Bush administration took office and started changing the language it used towards North Korea in more stern, isolationist language.
  18. Yes, I remember John Kerry's sing "Give Peace a Chance" plank in his foreign policy platform well. I think I remember it being next to George Bush's "Eat the Old" program proposal as a way to save money on school lunches.
  19. http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=2085927 The juicy bits.
  20. But now with 50% more skank.
  21. He's just guessing you're completely wrong. That's different than being sure you are completely wrong.
  22. Congratulations, this thread is closed!
  23. I don't think that what he said was particularly offensive, but he seems to have a tendency to open his mouth and say particularly bad things that will lead him on a path to get Rockered. I think he should be taken to the woodshed now, to get him off that path. If Ozzie had used the N word in describing that Quite Frankly dude, what would you have said? To be honest, the two words ARE equal in their connotation.
