  1. My God, you act as if he burned an American flag on Red Square while chugging Soviet vodka. He was a poli sci student, and a Rhodes Scholar student - and he went as a student. There's nothing weird about that.
  2. This month, I have seriously been digging on Electric Six and Junior Senior. Funny music that doesn't take itself too seriously. Oh yeah, been delving back into Sigur Ros as well.
  3. Hey... I thought I was the gay one here!
  4. You do know that in a perfect world, people would be listening to the Clash and the Pixies rather than bands like Matchbox 20.

  6. Usually an accusation with a previous allegation would be enough.
  7. I'll agree with you there. He is one f***ed up guy. Found innocent, the guy oughta have supervision of himself and his kids. Otherwise, no good.
  8. I mean, we've got armadillos in our trousers!
  9. Actually, some more realism time. He had exactly one allegation. The kid who made the allegation never made it to criminal court because the prosecutor found out that the admission of molestation may have been coerced by his dentist father who drugged his son with sodium pentathol or "truth serum." Thing about this drug is, it just tends to make people remember things that have never happened. I really hope this isn't true because I'd hate to think some kid had his life potentially ruined. Period. That being said, Jacko is a freak of nature who should have some kind of supervision over himself. He's had kind of a freaky, scary life when you think about it. Beaten by his dad, forcefed female hormone pills so his voice wouldn't crack... no wonder the guy is f***ed in the head.

  11. I'd rather find a boyfriend, thanks.
  12. Pouring my boy friend at the time a glass of wine.
  13. given that we live 300 miles apart, not seeing the f***er is easy. maybe i could have a "Vote on the ManMeat competition"
  14. Its so frustrating. We wanted to stay friends, but that doesn't seem to be working. I try to have a conversation and its like falling on deaf ears. And to make matters worse, I'm having a hard time meeting people, so to speak. So how do I get over this?
  15. Maybe they could play the Motor City Bowl. How sweet would that be for the Irish? Holidays in Detroit!
  16. Ummm this year Navy's the better team. It's just that "Rudy" magic all damn over again.
  17. i say bring back bermuda shorts! i dont like it... id love to see 80s throwback uniform... they were ugly but at least they all had some individual style to them. a lot better than now. it seems every other uniform looks the same now.
  18. THe problem with this bill, in my opinion is that it is frankly too broad. To my understanding, it could potentially be interpreted as banning any 2nd trimester abortion procedure including non-partial birth abortion procedures. This could go beyond the stated intent of the law... and probably intentionally so. If the federal government wants to outlaw abortion, so be it. However, it should clearly say what its doing and not pass laws to exceed the stated goals.
  19. Those are the Spartans I remember! Silicon Valley Bowl here we come!
  20. XTC is definitely in there dude, but not the be all end all.
  21. If you're gonna talk about influential britpop - I'd look at Modern Life is Rubbish and Parklife as fodder for the rest of the mid 90s brit pop pretenders. Both excellent albums worthy of a relisten, and Blur is one of the best UK bands of the decade - far better than Oasis, which did release the Best Beatles album since "Let It Be" with "Definitely Maybe" By the way, take a listen at the pirated Smiley Smile albums and tell me that a lot of melodic pop isn't influenced by that heavily. Oh yeah, and the story about James Brown... there was something that happened in the African American community of Boston in 1964 or 1965 and there was a great fear of riots that night... apparently rumors and all... so James Brown arranged for his show to be broadcast on WGBH, the PBS station... they broadcast it once and immediately repeated it... and everyone stayed in to watch the show. How cool is that? I saw it on VH1 a while ago so it must be true!
  22. Sgt Pepper had directed influences from the Pet Sounds album by the Beach Boys, and in particular the music that Van Dyke Parks and Brian Wilson were putting together. To be honest, the Beach Boys 66 - 70 was by far the best music out there at the time and still influencing folks today. Don't believe me? Check out the 12 minute version of Heroes and Villains - or Sail on Sailor... Also, James Brown is quite possibly the world's greatest band leader... and the creator of the Funk sound of George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic... Live at the Apollo Vol 2. features Cold Sweat - the first modern funk song ever... and the awesome 18 minute version of Its a Mans Mans Mans World. James Brown once actually stopped a race riot in Boston by performing. Ain't noone more influential than that.
