  1. sox middle infield ranked ninth by sports illustrated tigers, braves, indians, devil rays ranked higher
  2. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) The Paul Konerko seventh-inning Grand Slam in Game Two of the 2005 World Series will go down as my favorite moment in White Sox history. Actually in attendance, the place was just waiting to explode, and, at that very moment, Paulie connects on a first-ball fastball. Being able to enjoy that expierence with my old man, someone who has lived and died with this ballclub, someone who passed his passion for his White Sox on to his oldest son, and someone who needed to break out of an in-person post-season losing streak with his belov'ed Sox, is just indescribable. We were just saying, "hey, how about Paulie comes through and hits a grand frickin' slam," and mid-sentence, Paulie connects. The ball kept carrying, carrying, carrying...the outfielder went back, back, back...and even when that ball landed in the left-field stands, it took a couple moments to realize what exactly just happened. We just looked each other and lost our minds; it was at that very moment that I knew that team was destined to win, not just for themselves, not just for the critcs, but, for all the fans that have been waiting their entire lives for this best-of-seven. An image frozen in time, an absolute flash-bulb memory, something I'll never forget for as long as I live...seeing our Paulie hit a go-ahead Grand Slam in the World Series with my old man on the Southside of Chicago, rocking out to the "Go Go White Sox" montage and AC/DC's Thunderstuck moments later... I just got the chills. good post, i felt the same way, it was incredible
  3. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) It really depends. If you are up cheering on the sox, then thats fine, but when groups of people stand for innings at a time just talking and not even watching the game, now that is bogus. I personally try not to stand in someones way unless it is a big part of the game, because I wouldnt want people in my way during the game. standing to stand I think is totally inappropriate, but standing to actively cheer in a critical situation I think is okay
  4. konerkos home run was unlike anything Ive ever seen. I have never seen a crowd go so nuts.
  5. I wanted to address this before the new season started seeing as there are going to be a lot of reasons to cheer for the sox this season. During the world series last year I was extremely disappointed to find that in game 1 and game 2 there were heated verbal disputes (that lasted for innings) between groups of white sox fans because some fans wanted to stand and cheer and some fans seated behind them wanted to sit. I think that in pretty much any circumstance (especially the world series) if people want to stand and cheer they should not be yelled at to sit down because of their enthusiasm (unless they are from the other team). Do people disagree?
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) The White Sox have no remaining unsigned players in camp. always good news
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) Not too many lefties can hit monster pull-shots and also go opposite field like Thome. If he stays healthy, he's going to have a monster year. agreed, take out his injuries last year and when Thomes healthy his numbers are incredible. If he stays healthy and can take advantage of the cell, hes going to look good in that sox uniform
  8. I really like all the spring training videos the sox are putting up.
  9. I was the Cubs once, putting on the uniform was not a fun experience but at least it was my worst year as a team.
  10. very impressive collectings, Sox fans have really stepped it up on tickets this year, I am impressed
  11. Im confident in Javier. I think he has a lot of potential, is a great workhorse, and being around Coop will be good for him. improving his mechanics would certainly be good
  12. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) How about John Starks seriously
  13. id go with Shawn Hillegas if you can find it, he will never go out of style
  14. yeah, I really hope the skirt comment is not true, that was incredibly unneccessary
  15. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) We are all thankful that we finally did it and grateful we will at least see one trophy in our lifetimes. I second that
  16. buehrle always looks like hes working 10 times harder than anyone else
  17. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) Good. Let this topic die. It helps no one. agreed
  18. i like that stat, although I liked Iguchi in the 2 hole, I think Uribe will do well
  19. Im sure that the sox looked into Franks health, but its been obvious for a while that hes not worth the risk. He had to be replaced, we cant afford to only have a healthy DH for a fraction of the season. Kenny was a little too upset, but Frank needs to realize the fact that hes old and injured and too much of a risk.
  20. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 02:37 PM) Minoso fails to make Hall of Fame I really wanted Minnie to get in, but at least he has a great attitude about it and he knows that he is loved by fans regardless
  21. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) I found a game worn road black Baj at Soxfest for $75. I couldn't pass that one up. Brandon is next on the list. The game worn jerseys that the sox sell sometimes are a great deal. I got a Cora game used jersey for only $50. Its a great jersey and cheaper than you could get at stores and it fits great. only problem is its hard to get current players that way (I also got a Wunsch for the same price).
