New Sox player representative

GOOD REP: Pitcher Mark Buehrle, who labeled himself the "worst player representative in the game'' the last few years, finally pawned that responsibility off on a teammate. Reserve catcher Chris Widger will be the team's acting player representative and seemed excited about his new title.

"I pretty much did it last year anyway, so there's no real difference,'' Widger said. "I've done it before in Montreal. It's actually easier for someone that doesn't play every day to handle it, so you have time to take care of certain problems. I don't mind doing it. I like to know what's going on. We didn't always have that when Mark was doing it.''

In a related note, this is Chris Widgers last year with the team...

Take that to the bank..

Who better for the job than the f***ing Widge. Good for him, next year he can go back to playing softball I guess.

Widge is the man for the job

And with that announcement, Kenny Williams relaxed and knew his team's chance for a repeat was all but assured, the last piece of the puzzle was laid . . .

SCORE ONE FOR THE WIDGENATION!

All one of me.

Edited by Buehrle>Wood

For Widge's support of Organized Labor, I would like to join the Widgenation.

UNION YES!

WIDGENATOR > *

Wow! Let's see how many nicknames we can come up for Widger... The Widge, Widgey, Widegenator, Widgemeister, Widgenerator, Widgerator... can't think of any more.

I've been a widge fan since he hit that homer off of Randy Johnson :D

Why do you say that? Is there somebody in the minors who will be ready?

Whoever takes over the job as Sox player rep doesn't stay on the team all that long.

Widge is the man!

Buehrle ended that trend. Widge is gonna play with the Sox into his 50's and make the a late push at the Hall.

Buehrle didn't really count though, he may have held the title of player rep but he didn't really do any of the work.
