In your judgement of course.

Bingo, and bingo. Its always nice having a good strong arm out of the pen and thats what Wright has. You could say the Dodgers should of groomed Gagne into a closer, but look what happened. Right now the Sox have two options, Wright or Ginter and I'm happy with either of the two out of the pen. I think either would contribute and I am excited Cotts will be joining the rotation. Oh ya Cerb...I disagree, Munoz or Majewski can close and do it damn well. Wow did Majewski impress me. Chisoxfn, you and I are going to have to just agree to disagree on Ginter. I see nothing there. Btw, how did he do on his call up?
-
Well I wouldn't make him my closer this yr but he will work out of the pen, the team NEEDS him out of the pen.
-
Couldn't disagree more, IMO the decision to stay in the race was made before those two were picked up. The only ???? was should they wait til closer to the deadline. They made the right decision going early with the trades.

Tonights game is on WGN for all you out-of-towners

From the Southtown, it's about as close as you're going to get to a confirm til tommorrow: The Cotts era begins? Manuel didn't want to name names, but indications are that Tuesday's starting pitcher against Anaheim could be highly touted prospect Neal Cotts. Manuel said he likes Danny Wright as a reliever, and the No. 5 starter's spot comes up for Tuesday's game. "We'll possibly need someone Tuesday, unless we decide on this flight (to Anaheim) that we're going to go with Danny Wright," Manuel said. "But we're kind of comfortable right now with him in the 'pen. We could possibly make a move in the next couple of days. "We'll definitely need a starter here. We're not going to go into a four-man rotation at this time." It just so happens that the left-handed Cotts last pitched on Thursday for Double-A Birmingham, so he'd be on schedule to pitch Tuesday. Cotts is 9-6 with a 2.12 ERA for the Barons this season. "There's a number of guys down there that are possibilities," Manuel replied when asked whether Cotts was the leading candidate. "I don't want to give any names and create any false hope. I'll just wait until we make some decisions here before we name that person."

"He just got under that one" is becoming extremely annoying IMO.

From the Southtown: The Sox also are expected to announce today that catcher Jamie Burke will be sent back to Triple-A Charlotte, as catcher Miguel Olivo's shoulder has healed. Olivo collided with Kansas City's Brent Mayne during a play at the plate last Wednesday and has been out of the lineup since. Burke was brought up Friday to provide some relief to veteran catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. Burke started Saturday's game against Oakland. Olivo had a 10-minute session before Sunday's game, throwing the ball with authority from as far as 120 feet away. Afterward, he reported no pain. "I feel great and I'm excited right now," Olivo said. "I was having trouble throwing when it first happened, but no trouble now." Throwing is an essential part of Olivo's game. He has thrown out 38.5 percent of would-be base stealers this season, fourth-best in the American League.

Yea Lebanon is next to f***ing Belleville, just east of St Louis. Hhmm another crafty lefty who(probably) grew up a die hard Cards fan. Is that a good omen or what!!!
-
Rex, is Neal a downstater or from the Chicagoland area? If he handles himself well his first home start should be Thu, Aug 21st vs Tejas.
-
No problemo quickman, btw Cotts himself has posted here a few times so maybe he'll stop in here after he gets settled in and tell us what it's like to win his first big league start.
-
I know, really....Jerry could've at least split the time..Let Frank plays 1st base 3 times a week and Konerko plays 3 times a week....What's so difficult about this?? What got me was Monday when he had Daubach at first and Frank DHing, I was like what the f*** is that s***!
-
Bullard is a teammate of Cotts', if you don't believe that I can't help ya, you'd need to bring it up with Rex and HSC.
-
Melton said in the postgame that Olivo was much better today, they'll still probably wait til Tuesday to make the move though just in case.
-
About damm time!!!!!!!
-
Rex, what is Cotts' out pitch? I mean with his fastball at 88-91, what's he accumulating all these K's with?

72, was the year of the Fisk HR, that is why he kept that number. '75. Fisk wore 72 because he used to wear 27 as a Carmine.
-
That's just idiotic, Daubach has 0 games played at C in his 6 yrs in the bigs. We've gone thru this same idiotic stuff with Konerko too. But if you want to follow this train of thought then, isn't it time to get Frank a start or 2 in CF? Ya know just in case.

With only 47 games left how is our magic # 48? Does that include a tie breaker game? If so, then doesn't the next KC loss drop the # by 2?
