Agreed Rex, the ball's really in Danny's court right now. We need to win about 33 more games this yr to make it and we can't afford to just hand 7-8 losses over plus burn up the pen that many times(which might hurt more), Danny needs to step up or get out of the way.

I still wouldn't be at all surprised if it's Willie Harris who gets sent down. They could use an extra arm in the pen more at this point than an extra baserunner. It's a tough call either way though.

I didn't see 97, I saw 95 once but mostly 92-93. He needs to add a pitch and he needs to start throwing it NOW. A cutter or splitter(cutter should be the easiest), something that looks like his fastball but with movement. Him thinking he's going to magically get his velocity back is a pipedream, it just doesn't happen in-season. If he doesn't he's going to find himself on the DL come the end of August so they can have an injury roster spot for the playoffs.

12-2 and made up 7 games on the AL Central leader, don't know how we could be rated as anything but a huge winner. Smartest thing KW did was realize he couldn't wait til the deadline to make his trades, none of the deals made yesterday will have the impact on their teams that we've already gotten from ours. And we still have 2(and hopefully 3) months of impact to go!!!!!!!!!

If I read it correctly, Sauerbeck went back to Pitt so it's just Sanchez for Suppan. I'm not so sure that's such a great deal.

Borchard and Rauch for Vazquez would be a very fair deal as it wold be if it was Cotts instead. I think Sox will acquire Vazquez or Ponson. Its just a hunch I have. I think KW will look at the price for the mediocre pitchers and say screw it...I can get one of those two and keep them long term and not really give up much more. If he decides to get one you could very well be right chisoxfn.

There seems to be some bitterness in that guys post, I think I'll take a wait and see approach myself.

I think the thing they don't realize is that even if we didn't make the Ritchie trade Fogg and Wells would still have been traded. They would have probaly been the players involved in a trade for Colon. Sorry Joel, but using that logic is like throwing darts blindfolded. There is no way you can say with any validity that would have happened. No one has a clue what would have happened last year had that trade not happened. Exactly! And yet I've seen that logic used alot.

Unless we make a trade in which I'd just cut him to make room, I'd keep him and send Willie down when Wright comes up. We have a stretch of 25 games in 26 days coming up and we can use an extra arm in the pen alot more than we can an extra runner on the basepaths.

U make a very good point. I've checked to and the 5th starter would only pitch about 5 more times. But with what we have now that could mean 5 losses...If we were up 5-6 gms and in 1st place we could probably afford to lose those gms. But being behind we have to atleast give ourselves a chance to win every time out. And don't forget if we do get a quality 5th guy and make the playoffs we could use him in the pen as well... How did you come up with 5 more times? I have: Aug 2nd 12th 17th 30th Sep 7th 12th 20th 25th That's 8, how did you figure so differently? I don't think u factored in off days.... Yes, that's with off days, remember off days don't neccesarily mean the 5th starter gets bumped.

Saturday has yet to be determined but if you want a best guess, I'd go with Wright.
