QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 23, 2015 -> 04:50 PM) There was some movement today. Ryan Leonards was sent up to the Dash. Olacio down to the Intimidators Leonards went to the Barons, jumped a level. Must be temporary.

Wolf, who started against Charlotte last night, has an ERA in the 2's and is like 9-1 and he is 39 or 40 now.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) Sox have 3 vet starters at Charlotte: Noesi, Penny, and Drabek. They are eating up innings that could go elsewhere, even though there is little chance of them getting promoted to White Sox. Possible exception is Drabek. With all the young pitchers throughout the minor league system, I see no reason why these three are taking a regular turn, since so many young pitchers could use the innings. Sox have a good report with Charlotte. They deserve to have a chance to compete. No reason to rush pitchers.

QUOTE (wsiskel @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 04:11 AM) Barons RHP Peter Tago is a stud. 23 y/o former first-rounder of the Rockies in his last 10 games w/ Barons (and Dash): 17.1 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 25 SO, 8 BB, 1.04 ERA, and 6 saves. The guy struggled for years with Rockies org trying to even get an even BB/K ratio. With the Sox he has 66 Ks and 22 Walks. Someone fixed him. He could be a big, big find.

QUOTE (Sox Fan In Husker Land @ Aug 6, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Corey Zangari's 1st 19 games: 1 BB, 24 K's. Zangari's last 11: games 6 BB, 7 K's. Right now he has an .818 OPS in AZ as an 18 year old, and is tied for 5th in HRs. That is quite a turnaround on the BB/K ratio

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 12:55 PM) Considering how bad he was before, Peter Tago (now in AA) has been pretty damn good this season. This kid was pretty highly rated when drafted by the Rockies. Our org's pitching process seems to be to his liking. He has a chance.

New SS for Charlotte, Justin Sellers, purchased from Pirates for PTBNL or cash. Micah Johnson to the DL.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:38 AM) i am not trying to be snarky or anything like that, but noesi is a AAAA pitcher. too bad. If he pitches like he did last year with the Sox he can help a major league team.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 02:48 PM) Don't forget good ole Lorenzo Barcelo. That was Nardi (FlavorFlav) era, Barcelo looked great, too many arm injuries. Huge hands.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 01:15 AM) I see former Knight starter Terance Marin is now in the pen (joining Junior Guerra). Was there a call up necessitating room? Or maybe they think he's a bullpen guy ultimately? Right now they have a rotation of Johnson/Penny/Carroll/Noesi/Haviland Seems like Marin will spot start and maybe Guerra. Might see Guerra stay in the pen would be my guess.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) I cannot find 2015 stats on Daily. Is it possible he was injured for the 2015 college season? Could explain him not being drafted. He graduated in 2014. I list him as a Non Drafted FA for 2014. He signed in Feb of 2015.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) Recap posted. Barons have somehow won 7 straight despite no May and mostly no Hawkins. Pitching, pitching and more pitching.

Zangari with 6 errors already.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 01:37 AM) Head scratching pick from the moment it was announced. I think I remember his swing being described as "long" multiple times. But, but, but... KW went and saw him in person and praised his swing. So we have that!!!

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) The other guy the Sox sent in the Myers trade is about the same age and looks fairly similar, although in AA. Chris Devenski, cripes, 1.32 ERA in AA Texas League, that is doing quite well I would say.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 10, 2015 -> 03:33 AM) I have the same feelings about Gordon Almonte for Beckham. Blackmar and Chalas for DeAza Delmonico we picked up after he was released (by the Brewers?)

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 9, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Anyone hoping we will see some post ASG movement in the minors? At this point, I wouldnt mind seeing Montas and Anderson see AAA, Peter see AA, and some of the 2015 guys see some time at Kannapolis. Also would like to see both Micah and Erik Johnson and Trayce come up to the big league club. With most of our org playing for 1st place in their respective leagues I foresee a lot less movement. Leave Montas and Anderson in AA, Saladino is playing well in AAA as is the pitching staff. No reason to shake things up. I realize the need to push kids, but I want to see guys playing in pennant races while they are young.

4 of our 6 teams were in first going into todays games, Birm, W-S, GF and Arizona all in first (the first 2 in their 2nd half season). Charlotte was 1/2 game out of first and Kannapolis was 4-7, but now they sweep the DH today, so now an almost respectable 6-7. Not a lousy year for once, at least record-wise.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 5, 2015 -> 01:23 AM) Keenyn Walker is hitting .118. Wow. Yep, they need to cut bait there. I hope when May returns they just release the guy. Tyler Colvin is not much of a player, but he has made such a difference in Charlotte lineup vs what Mitchell was. Would be the same thing with whomever replaces Walker, he is an automatic out.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jul 3, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) "91-92 mph... and he complements his fastball with a sharp breaking ball" -Ben Badler/Baseball America From 2014 international signing article Other six figure signings were: C Jose Colina ($450K, Venezuela), INF Jorgen Rosas ($380K, Venezuela), RHP Edinxon Arias ($350K, Venezuela), RHP Andres Sanchez ($300K, Venezuela/Cuba), RHP Yosmer Solorzano ($100K, Dominican Republic).

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 02:48 AM) Davidson hit his 10th HR. Micah 3-3 Onelki Garcia doing pretty well in AAA. Peters hit a 2R HR today. Average up to 288 Trey 1-4. AVG up to 271 Heidenreich needs to replace Bucciferro in the AA rotation Alvarez 1-4 2 RBIs Austin 1-4 Martinez with the win. QS, but only 1 K. Matt Cooper has been a dominant closer for Kanny. Shoot, do not like this. Birmingham Barons pitcher Cody Winiarski left the game due to an injured arm.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jun 11, 2015 -> 04:10 AM) Its only 10 games gice or take but Ricky Mota is having a solid start in the DSL. I think Alfaro and Nunez will be up with the AZL team to start their careers Heh
