  1. In this Great Falls article it says Getz texted the Voyagers and said Steele Walker would be playing there along with Heuer, Stiever, Troutwine and also Alex Destino. https://www.greatfallstribune.com/story/sports/2018/06/13/heres-five-players-watch-2018-great-falls-voyagers-chris-getz-director-player-development/700243002/
  2. Hmmm, Micah Coffey not on that list, thought we signed him.
  3. No idea. It has missed quite a few transactions a few weeks back also. So not sure its minor league teams are correct. But the transactions is nice even though they miss some.
  4. This document https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQhAaAT6fxqy8DvRIDg7DcvIbKZ908OH4bSobz0ur11PL-f93sMYbJR7_w6QGW_um7CR8CAuPQ9Pend/pubhtml?gid=1741699306&single=true says we signed both Weaver and Rigo Fernandez. Also signed an NDFA named Wyatt Burns, RHP, closer at Samford. Short guy, about 5:10

Agreed, we always used to have an old team down there. This is a very young team now. They released a lot of the older guys.

Didn't he have arm trouble in the year before we got him, when he was in the A's system. Sometimes it takes 2 full years to get back in the groove.

There is a reason no teams took a chance on him in the Rule 5 draft this past offseason
  8. Must have been one hell of a draft in that park with all the swing and misses.
  9. Interesting that when they called him up they sent down Chris Bassitt.
  10. Good thing pitchers do not bat in the AL then, if Verlander came up to bat he would likely go Juan Marichal on Anderson behind the plate.
  11. Looks like Schilling, who is facing Kanny, is also pretty tough. No walks either thru 6, that always helps.
  12. Good call
  13. Tomshaw was sent back to AA
  14. Scranton?
  15. Forbes and the SS, Yeyson Yrizarri (sic), both are holding their own. 2 decent pickups.
  16. Not sure why he has to stop in AAA first. Sox, as many teams do, a lot of times promote stars from AA directly to majors. AA is typically where the real players are playing, AAA has lots of fodder. Big Frank, Alex Fernandez, Robin Ventura, Chris Young, Mike Cameron are just some of the long list of players who went from AA to the majors.

QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Apr 18, 2018 -> 03:03 PM) Anthony Villa starting at 3B in Kannapolis is interesting. I wonder if he can actually play there. His error in the 1st already cost them 1 of the 2 runs given up in that inning.
  19. Cordell to DL, Alvarez (SS) off DL
  20. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 03:01 AM) Great to see most of the guys off to good starts. Anyone know anything about Palka? Could he push his way to majors this year? Palka was a beast at Georgia in the NCAA, he killed the Illini in the postseason one year. Power hitter for sure, Twins liked him but seemed to sour on him
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2018 -> 02:03 AM) Basto and Hawkins are the obvious candidates to give way. Polo should be playing everyday. Basabe and Booker will be the ones to be pushed first, as Rutherford needs a full High A season to prove himself. Adolfo eventually to test his bat at a higher level, but that would take at-bats from Zavala or Collins. Can Basto and Hawkins take Barnum with them when they go!! Some will say they are not blocking anyone, and they maybe are not, but get somebody off waivers to at least contribute.
  22. I live in Rochester, Mn, about 60 miles South of Twin Cities. We had rain all day yesterday, then about 3-4 inches of snow overnight and winds are gusting up to 45 mph. Today is supposed to be ice rain and Sunday more snow. Temps about 30. I highly doubt we get a game in.
  23. Couple of International signees the past couple days https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2P...amp;single=true

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 07:40 PM) Hawkins isn't holding anyone back. And they shouldn't promote someone a week into the season. When they think a guy is ready in W-S they won't keep them there because Hawkins. They already had to promote Fisher before he really showed he was ready. That's the case with all of them, none really showed they were ready for AA, many showed they were ready for High-A. Hawkins has never shown he is ready for AA either
