  1. Have you seen how terrible Bellinger was last year? His MVP season looks to be the outlier. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/bellico01.shtml
  2. Ok I didn't realize Bellinger was worse than 2011 Dunn last year. Holy shit. Still worth the risk, IMO.
  3. I'd drive myself to the airport hahaha. It can't possibly be Bellinger......that's too good to be true. Blackmon is much more likely.
  4. They didn't go with Villar because he's bad defensively and there are too many poor defenders on this team.
  5. Without trading for Vazquez, McCarthy for Danks never happens. Danks was good until his arm fell off.
  6. I will drool if Yoan finds his power stroke again. Would make me forget about Conforto PDQ. I'm not worried about Vaughn/Sheets offensively, I think they'll be fine. I do worry about how many runs they give away in RF.
  7. If I were Poles, I'd try to get JuJu, MVS and Demarcus Robinson, and aim to get either Watson or Pickens with pick 39. Poles seems to put a premium on speed. Also, if they're available I'd look into moving a late rounder for either Shenault or Mims. Honestly, if they had a WR room of: Mooney JuJu MVS D. Robinson Shenault/Mims I could live with not drafting a WR in the 2nd round.
  8. Not only was he making it work in 2019-20, it was a weapon. He was throwing it there on purpose.
  9. I think Lynn's ceiling in the playoffs is an excellent #3. There will always be teams that hit the hard stuff well and he will struggle with them.
  10. At this point, they literally need to make one signing.........even if they went into the tax, it wouldn't be that punitive because they'd be barely over. If they just signed Conforto we'd all be giddy.
  11. The three guys included Kopech. Lynn is limited due to his arsenal.
  12. He did that last year. Hitters were on his change more than they've ever been. He wasn't getting away with high changeups anymore.
  13. Luckily, they have 3 guys with the capability of doing that.
  14. Too unreliable. Rodon hasn't thrown 150 innings since 2016, and it's the only time he did it.
  15. I gotta see his first start, but if he comes out with his 2019-20 velocity, um, yeah I agree. He did a lot better with HR prevention last year. There are still reasons to be excited about Sox baseball. They have a metric shit ton of talent. I'd do a 180 if they signed Conforto.
  16. Just my opinion, but if Giolito comes out with his 2019-20 fastball and with his improved slider from 2021 watch out for him too. Those extra 1-2 mph on Gio's fastball make his change even harder to pick up. When I saw that he worked on lower body strength I think I know exactly why he did that.
  17. I think that Cease, Giolito and Kopech are all going to have great seasons. If they can overcome their deficiencies, it's because of those three.
  18. He's not proven. There's no track record, just the one year. I think it's real, but you never know.
  19. There's also a possibility that Lynn drops off due to age, but that's just me. I'm expecting a return to 2019-20 levels for Giolito.
  20. Yeah, but it's just one season. There is plenty of reason to think Cease is going to continue to get better though, and Keuchel is going to continue to get shelled.
