  1. I'd totally take a flier on Shenault and Mims. Both guys will also be 24 to start the season so they're still young. (Mims is 25 in October) if they could get both for a 6th or something that would be a great use of 6th round picks. Both guys have higher upside than the average 6th round pick and they could use their 2nd rounders for other needs like CB and OL.
  2. If Bellinger sucks again they can just non-tender him.
  3. Nobody ever stays healthy. Someone will get injured.
  4. It's a south park bit. Don't call me pal, guy Don't call me guy, buddy Don't call me buddy, friend Etc.
  5. They never trade for Lynn in that situation, rather keep Dunning or use him for a RF or LHP.
  6. WR targets via FA: Julio Jones (unlikely) Will Fuller Sammy Watkins WR targets at #39: Christian Watson(unlikely) George Pickens oh and sign Eric Fisher already.
  7. That's a damn good question, but look at Wheeler's last two years. Damn it sucks his wife wanted to stay on the East Coast.
  8. Gio isn't getting re-signed because it's Jerry and Gio is a pitcher. The one time he went long-term on a pitcher at Gio's age(IIRC Danks was 27 when he re-signed) he got burned. He didn't do it before Danks and he won't do it again. We have to hope Cease and Kopech are very good this year so they feel comfortable trading Gio and signing a couple pitchers to fill out the rotation next year. They should not lose Gio for nothing. I hate this because Giolito is my favorite player on the Sox.
  9. He's out of options, so he has to be on the 28 man (or 26 later in the season) or else be exposed to waivers, unless he elects Free Agency and signs a minor league deal. I think the Pirates, Diamondbacks or Orioles might give him a look on the MLB roster and he might bounce between those teams this year.
  10. What kind of triple slash would be acceptable for him to keep his job? IIRC he's a free swinger, so we shouldn't expect much in the OBP dept. Had a .311 OBP in AAA last year.
  11. If Adolfo has an excellent spring, do you guys think the Sox should give him a look in RF before sending him on his merry way to a rebuilding team?
  12. Kopech was dominant in games he started last year.
  13. Ron, I hate to break it to you, but Papa Ricketts is more of an asshole than Jerry.
  14. This offseason needed to be about giving Fields the tools to be successful, and Poles has completely failed there. They need weapons and blocking, and they have very little. The OL is probably worse than it was last year as it stands right now.
  15. Yeah, what happens if most of those ground balls start turning into outs?
  16. That doesn't mean that a lot of the talent won't go off of the board in the mid to late 1st round though.
  17. They don't necessarily have to add a star quality pitcher if Cease/Kopech are TOR quality.
  18. If Giolito has as good of a year as I think he will, I think they have to consider trading him this winter, and signing a pitcher to replace him. Losing him for nothing would be terrible, and such a trade would be much more palatable to Sox fans if Lynn stays good, Kopech emerges and Cease keeps getting better.
  19. I completely agree but it seems to me the window never really opened more than a crack, but that is 100% by choice. Doing that might be a way to actually open one. Hahn has proven to be better as a seller than a buyer, so that's one thing he has going for him. I really don't want to lose Giolito, who I think is about to have a big year, for nothing.
  20. They should have never drafted Madrigal 4th overall, but I digress.
