There's actually a legit reason to want Ozzie: They think he can get the best out of Robert, Moncada and Eloy. The right combination of cultural understanding and accountability. Ozzie is not afraid to hold players accountable and he is not shy about it. This is part of why I'm not 100% opposed to Ozzie but only like 80% If someone wants him back just because 2005!!!1!!! then that is stupid. If there are legit on field/clubhouse chemistry reasons for wanting Ozzie then I get it. The fact remains that Ozzie quit on two separate teams and that can't be tolerated.

I thought it was important for the next manager to be Latino. I thought it would be really beneficial for the most important position players on the team.

This sucks. Out of all of the people they interviewed, Espada was the only choice I would have been actually excited about. The more I think about Ozzie, the more I'm against him. The only way this makes any sort of sense is if Espada took himself out of the running.

I don't think MLB cares. Big market teams draw ratings and at the end of the day, those are the teams they want in the playoffs. If the Yankees and Dodgers played in the WS every year that is MLB's wet dream.
