  1. Sox probably have more team speed overall than the Royals do, but Ricky doesn't let them run. Garcia, Anderson, Moncada and Engel are all really fast, to say the least. That being said, Engel isn't on base all that much. Yolmer has decent speed too.
  2. Yes, so they can justify not re-signing him when this season is finished. I like Abreu, but I hope they move him at the TDL if he gets himself going this year.
  3. Oy. Santana throwing 87-88 today. How many more starts do you give him before replacing him with Banuelos in the rotation?
  4. Most actual prospects make their MLB debut at age 22-24, If the average age of AA is 23 that means that an actual prospect in AA would be a year or two younger. There is no anecdotal evidence, just a trend that I've noticed over two plus decades following baseball. If a prospect is in an "age appropriate" level I question whether or not that player is actually a prospect. Real prospects are ahead of the average age of the level. Go look up what the average age of a league and the top 100 guys on MLB pipeline. You'll find that I'm correct. Most players that make their MLB debut at age 24 or 25 had a major injury in the minors that affected their development. Minor league players that don't make it to AAA by age 23 are teetering on non-prospect status. There are the occasional prospects that make a huge leap after repeating AA, but those guys are rare.
  5. Yes, but actual prospects are a year early from the average age of the league, or at least that's what I've found. Also, Career minor leaguers boost the average age up at every level other than rookie/low A.
  6. I believe he's 22 so that would be age appropriate for an actual MLB prospect.
  7. 91-92 early, 94-96 in the 3rd and later.
  8. Watch for Ozzie saying "Jankees" on the postgame show. That is why I have a Jankees Lose shirt.
  9. He doesn't count.....Let's forget he was ever here.
  10. I know. There's reason to be encouraged. They just won a series against the Jankees, in NYC. I'm wearing my Jankees lose shirt as we speak. (my 3 most despised teams-Twins, Cubs, Jankees in that order) They have a cupcake schedule for the next few weeks so hopefully the pitching can get back on track and the Sox can make up some ground in the ALC.
  11. Honestly, that might be why they didn't sign Machado. If they actually keep Moncada and Robert, should they be as good as we hope, that is fine.
  12. Fat chance. He already has made $31.5 M in his career. He and Robert are going to be hard to keep around.
  13. 3-4, BB for Moncada. The walks will come as he continues to prove he can scald the ball.
  14. I was glad they traded Narvaez, and in Hahn's defense on this one, they'll probably get a lot for Colome at the deadline.
  15. ^^^^^ You read my mind. Nice post.
  16. It wasn't the Rays, it was the the Mariners, and I said they were undervalued. I still agree with that. The slap hitters that make it to the Majors and are undervalued are those with elite speed and can get the occasional XBH. If Madrigal can be that guy, he'd be a great asset.
