  1. If you want to be considered an ace, it matters. On a macro level I agree with you.
  2. Because there was a reason Giolito was considered a possible Ace then. He went deep into games, shut teams down and missed lots of bats. Cease doesn't go deep enough into games.
  3. Nope. He doesn't go long enough into starts. Walks too many batters. He's a strong #2. Remember when Rich Harden was really good? Kinda reminds me of his peak.
  4. I'm not even talking a CG I'm talking 7 innings. I can't even remember the last time Cease pitched 7 innings.
  5. He's not the same pitcher he was then.
  6. No, I just don't think that TA is a star and I don't think that Cease is an ace.
  7. Giolito did quite a few times in 2019-20.
  8. Disagree. When was the last time Cease went 7+ innings in a game? When was the last time Anderson hit over .300 with 20+ HR? Both are good players but neither is a star/ace.
  9. At the end of the day, in the peak year of the rebuild, the Sox have zero star position players and zero ace SP. They have had some players that have had good seasons, but given that, idk how it can be called anything but a complete failure. Before you argue for Cease, when was the last time he shut a team down for 7+ innings?
  10. There aren't enough likes for this post.
  11. Johan Santana and John Danks just to name a couple.
  12. I was too, mostly because of the Shoulder thing. His continued success is why I'm even considering Rocker.
  13. I'll have to admit, I understand why they started if rain shortened games don't exist anymore. Had no idea they changed that.
  14. Were you against bringing Rodon back?
  15. Nice jinx thread, asshole. (Sarcasm intended) nothing against @Richie
  16. There was a difference though. The Twins could still hit and catch the ball last year. The Sox cannot hit, pitch or catch the ball.
  17. I'm not sure. Kopech is not getting hitters to swing at balls this year which is unnerving. He was in the 17th percentile in chase rate coming into this game.
  18. This has literally been a Murphy's Law season.
  19. Tidwell wasn't an elbow? I generally agree with you there, but Rocker has already had surgery and the stuff has returned.
  20. Thought he had 5 years of service. Thanks for the correction.
  21. Sox don't have any elite players. Talent has been overrated by everyone. They have some good ones.
