  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 6, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) The official in Clemson game could have cost big $20m as I think OSU and msu go to play in playoff and Iowa to rose. That guy better be fired. Why would the ACC fire an official that just made them $20m? If anything he should get a promotion or a commission lol
  2. Clemson-OU Alabama-MSU two thoughts 1. All we heard from this committee was that OU possibly playing in Texas would be the luck of the draw. They wouldnt move teams around to get away from a home field advantage. So they get dropped for what reason? 2. I know its not based on style matchups but the Clemson-MSU/Alabama-OU would have been much more appealing. You'd have spread teams vs power teams but now its spread vs spread and power vs power. Seems like Alabama got the breaks here. MSU is the type of team that usually doesnt give Saban fits. Would've been interesting to see if Alabama could've beaten fast tempo teams like OU and Clemson in consecutive weeks.
  3. cant trust ACC refs. Probably the dirtiest set of officials in college athletics.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) Also, Gus Johnson is f***ing awful. Just atrocious. I still can't believe people like this guy. terribly annoying.
  5. Bronco leaving BYU for UVA. That is pretty surprising. Good hire for the Cavs. I wonder how many schools that had openings even contacted Bronco for their openings. I figured he was a lifer at BYU.
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 07:20 PM) I said they need a Miami alum to get someone good. They went that route. Doubt Mullen would have signed on in the end. Mullen appears to want out of Starkville. I dont think Mullen would've been a long term hire for Miami but that is fine. When has Miami ever been a job for someone for more than handful of years? His offense would've killed it with South Florida recruits and he could've moved onto a bigger job and everyone wins. Mullen was close back when Miami picked Golden. Mullen wanted more money for his assistants and Miami balked at that.
  7. Top preference would've been a Mullen but cant complain about Richt. Kind of funny reading all these experts the last few weeks saying how bad Miami's job situation is. In the end, Miami could've gotten any coach they preferred. Mullen was there for the taking and at worst they end up with either Schiano or Butch Davis.
  8. So it's Helton for USC? That's strike two for Colin Cowherd. For a guy who thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, he sure looks dumb often.
  9. Well one thing Golden was able to accomplish was getting good enough players to win 8 games with subpar coaching. The next coach should be able to win starting next season if he's competent.
  10. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 25, 2015 -> 01:03 PM) People focus too much on just the top 25 teams. It's an arbitrary cutoff. Alabama has pretty much dominated all their games with a couple exceptions, and if you go by, say, top 40 or top 50 wins, their ranking makes sense. I think there's little difference between #25 and #40. The Baylor win was good for OU, but barely scraping by a TCU team missing half their starters and on their 3rd string QB at home is not an impressive win at all. OU lost their QB for the second half of the TCU game though.
  11. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Nov 22, 2015 -> 11:39 PM) To be fair, the UFC really pushes the faces of their sport way too much making it annoying for fans. From a marketing perspective it makes a lot of sense especially since the UFC is really trying to find fighters the transcend the UFC, but they overdo it because they have lost a lot of stars recently. Just watch Joe Rogan post fight interviews. There's a lot of people that don't like Ronda. McGregor too, but he's a different story. Rogan also said Rousey could beat 50% of the UFC roster of male 135'ers. That is just flat out stupid. funny video of someone using Rogan's comments of him ripping other fighters over a video of Rousey doing the same exact stuff. Look at the technique at 1:15. lol
  12. Cowherd really going out on a limb there. Last year his sources had Chip Kelly to Florida.
  13. The 2-14 season for the Bucs last year was worth it.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 22, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) Sounds like you hate any UFC fighter that's popular. Rousey whiffs on one punch and her form is awful. She got dominated like she has dominated. Plain and simple. Go watch her stand up and you can see how awful her boxing is. It wasnt just one punch. There is video of her throwing a jab where she lifts her leg like she's about to deliver a pitch. Every boxing coach in the fight game is saying how awful her stand up is. Can you imagine what Cyborg would do to Rousey? That'd be a savage beating again. Rousey couldnt get a takedown because Holm wasnt stupid to come rushing in on her, which is exactly what her judo skills looks for. And I like plenty of UFC fighters but I'm not going to fall victim to the Dana White hype machine. He is a POS and watching his golden fighters fall is entertaining.
  15. Rousey has feasted off of stiffs and finally came up against a good fighter and was completely outclassed. It was pretty embarrassing. Not as embarrassing as Joe Rogan and Dana White going crazy over Rousey over the past year. Rogan calling her something like a once in the history of ever fighter is downright pathetic. Just look at the technique of the most dominant fighter the world has ever seen: so in the last year we've seen a few of Dana White's money machines blow up in his face. Cain, Ronda, Jon Jones and hopefully McGregor next month. He really needs a big star and he really doesnt have it anymore (Lesnar or GSP). meanwhile Bellator is joining with Pride 2.0 and atleast making entertaining matches.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 21, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) Listened to some of the game on the radio and they were going bonkers about how awful play calling was that has been Meyer since his days at Florida. UF fans complained about their offenses a lot when Tebow wasnt the QB. Meyer runs a small amount of plays that when executed is very tough to beat. When execution is failing then it can get ugly.
  17. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 03:53 PM) If it was just a one time thing with Fla then I could agree. They needed a 4th and long and missed FG to beat Tennessee. Needed the ECU QB to drop the ball in the Redzone to win. Barely beat UK. Looked terrible against UGA. Luckily two of their TD drives were short fields and only needed 7 total yards to score 13 points. They smoked Ole Miss but when it's all said and done, their best win might be against a team that loses 4 games. Add today's game to the list. It'll even out next season. If they have a win total of 8.5 or higher next season, I should unload on the under.
  18. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Nov 21, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) Overtime now, and the refs bail out Florida. The amount of close escapes Florida has had against crappy teams this year is ridiculous. What a joke. Should've been PI in the end zone against UF.
  19. I dont know how legit Utah will be when its all said and done but that was a thrashing Miami put on them last night.
  20. Florida is tied with Florida Atlantic in the 3rd....0-0
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 20, 2015 -> 09:34 AM) Lots of people disagree. On espn they were saying it's a worse opening than the Central Florida opening. Again this only says how awful the Miami job is rather than anything about Illinois. it is really funny how ESPN keeps saying how bad everything is at Miami. Is Miami's facilities in the top tier percent? No but its not a rat hole like it was a decade ago. Miami made a few million dollar in renovations under Golden. I highly doubt major improvements werent made. The stadium being 40 miles away from campus is an issue? The Orange Bowl was far from campus too. And Miami has an enrollment in the low teens, including a lot of foreign students. Being close to campus is pointless when maybe 5k students attend games as is. Attendance an issue? Ok but that is South Florida in all sports. But when Miami is winning, crowds will show. Might not be 65k every game but it'll sell out for the big games and have good size crowds for other games as long as its not a noon kickoff. And the stadiums after the renovation will be amazing. Not going to find a nicer football stadium in the country to play in, this isnt the old Orange Bowl here or even the old Sun Life/Joe Robbie/Dolphins Stadium/Pro Player Park/Landshark/Dolphin/ETC. UCF has an indoor facility(something Miami is working on getting) and an on-campus stadium. I've been to the UCF stadium, it sucks. It's a glorified HS stadium with aluminum bleachers everywhere. Those comments are just attention whoring at its best.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 21, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) Why move to the SEC when you are already at a Florida power in the ACC?it makes zero sense. On top of that you work in a town where your players literally get away with anything. I don't see the upside. from what I've heard, things between Jimbo and FSU were pretty bad the time before and even during the NC title season. Some thought he was going to ride Winston out and then leave given the chance. Maybe things have cooled over the past 1.5 seasons.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) I think I enjoy World Cup Qualifying more than the actual tournament. I like having every country involved, no matter how small, especially the road games the US has to embark on. Either national "stadiums " on tiny islands or the larger nations where the fans are actually wishing death upon the players behind barbed wire. Or throwing bottles of urine. I have been to one qualifier, vs. Honduras at Soldier Field. Place was loudest I have ever heard it, although there were 50,000 Honduras fans. I like the process of getting to the World Cup almost as much as the actual tournament too. It's a two year event basically. I like how BeIn Sports is showing the CONMEBOL qualifying and other CONCACAF matches live too. I wonder after a good Gold Cup run, is Jamaica going to f*** themselves when it really matters most.
  24. I signed up to be on the email list to be notified when Copa America 2016 tickets go on sale. I bought Orlando City season tickets for 2016 so I hope that maybe season ticket holders will get a presale buying opportunity too. hopefully the South American teams show interest in this tournament and the stars show up to play.
