Never heard of anything more than 12 teams in a league. How many playoff teams? 6?
-
When McGregor says on his own terms, he's basically saying he can't fight Diaz at 170. Diaz isn't a good 170lb'er so 155 should be good for Diaz. McGregor needs to move on from Diaz. But Diaz is a good talker so it'll make CM the most money without having to fight someone at a bigger weight class that will absolutely crush him. Go back and fight Aldo or just move to 155 for good.
-
Even with the "win", McGregor's star dims even more. Anything close was going to go McGregor's way in terms of a decision. Either way, he hasn't looked great against a middle of the road 155 lb'er fighting at 170 pounds.

QUOTE (SexiAlexei @ Jul 21, 2016 -> 04:40 AM) At that point, why even expand? None of those schools improve your conference. As far as football is concerned, it just waters it down even more. Expanding has nothing to do with athletics. It's all about tv revenue. BYU, Cincy, USF or UCF would make the most sense out of the rumored schools. I don't know the point in bringing in Houston since the Big 12 already has that market covered. -
This tournament deserved Portugal winning the title. It was really an blah tournament for the most part. My favorite part of international soccer is about to really get going now, the WCQs.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 07:55 PM) I watched the Hunt/Brock fight again and I literally don't believe it was real. A WWE character vs an obese 41 year old kick boxer with 12-11 record is some UFC 1 level s***. You're either trolling or you have zero clue.
-
Hunt was formidable. Lesnar fought a smart fight by not just rushing in and exposing himself. Before the fight I think Hunt was willing to give up a takedown in order to land a couple of bombs but after taking those shots at the end of round 1, he probably was having second thoughts. Round 2 was on their feet for the most part and Hunt was tentative to let his hands go. DC/Silva was a bad fight bc nothing good could come from it from DC's standpoint. He should beat Silva on two days notice, no camp and with a weight advantage. Losing yesterday would've been disastrous so he did what he had to do. But Silva did well to slow DC down by tying up his leg. Still mad that Silva just mentally checked out vs Bisping. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the Diaz/McGregor 2 fight. A second loss to Diaz and then have to face Aldo who looked strong? Yikes, the golden boy might be on a three match losing streak.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2016 -> 03:56 AM) Do you like mma or do you just hate watch it? It wasn't that good of an event. All bc there was some big name fighters doesn't mean the show was any good.

Well I did the DraftKings UFC thing tonight and got 4 of 5. Only lost Frankie Edgar. Funny the 1st place prize was $800 but bc so many picked the same fights, the winners only got $23. Regretting the $60 purchase. I actually turned on an episode of Modern Family after the Lesnar fight and didn't watch the main event. Back to watching it at bars, illegal streams or off of periscope.
-
Well all you missed was Sage showing he is nowhere near ready for the big time. But the UFC will keep feeding him stiffs to hype him up.

DC should wreck Silva. So the women's fight is the new main event? Lol, well I guess I can leave wherever I'm watching the event at a little earlier.

Jon Jones is the biggest phony in MMA.

Maddon going to be on an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm next season. All about the Maddon Brand.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 08:34 AM) http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/time-fo...truggling-team/ Morrissey: Maddon needs to be more honest/realistic and less of a perpetual cheerleader for these Cubs Maddon will bring in some zoo animals, the media will eat it up. The Cubs will win 8 of 10 against the Reds/Brewers and the manager who wears fashionable eye wear and drinks wine in his manager's office will be labeled a genius by the media.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 3, 2016 -> 11:02 PM) What about Maddon? Him too? As much as all this media coverage this season is over the top, it's hard to HATE that guy. He's a very good manager. Not God, but the MLB equivalent of Pop or Brad Stevens. Someone has fallen for the Maddon hype machine. But this isn't the right thread.

Difference was the goalkeeping. Buffon let two shots go through him while Neur made two saves.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 1, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) P.K. Subban has character issues yet Montreal then signs a guy who was suspended in the playoffs for being drunk at a bar at 5 AM before a playoff game. Makes sense. He wasn't liked inside the locker room. That doesn't mean he has character issues.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 30, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) They're gonna Greece their way into the finals. Atleast Poland has won a match within 90 minutes this tournament. Portugal hasn't won in 90 yet.

Belgium might have the easiest route to a final in modern history. Gotta love expanded fields that allow for third place teams to advance.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 11:22 PM) Gonzalez was a regular starter for the Mexican League champions in his first year in Mexico. How is that hitting a wall by staying in MLS too long? If anything blame Klinsmann for not selecting him. Gonzalez was bad for the US in 2014 and 2015. Hard to blame JK for not selecting him bc he wouldn't have played in this Copa. -

I like the MLS and it has place but we can't be overly relying on MLS players to carry the load. For depth guys and for our players who are going through their first cycle and need the minutes then it's fine. Bradley came back for the money and has regressed. Omar Gonzalez probably hit a wall by staying in the league too long. Now he's in mexico so maybe things will get better. Jozy made some bad decisions after leaving The Netherlands and injuries haven't helped but he is too hot and cold since going to Toronto. Jordan Morris playing in Seattle is probably a good thing for now but eventually he needs to go to Europe. -

When you don't have the horses then you need a tactician to put the team in the best position to succeed. Unfortunately we have Jurgen.
