NCAA basketball 2014-15 thread

QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 11:39 PM) What is it about Miami's coaching against GT this year? The football strategy was awful against the option, and tonight's strategy of man-to-man defense against one of the 3 worst shooting teams in the country made absolutely no sense. Larrranaga doesn't like to play zone unless he really has to. The few minutes he did though was when Miami made a little run but then something happened and forced Miami to play too aggressive on D and that failed miserably. He should've went to it in the first half when GT was like 9 for their first 11. He's pushed pretty much all the right buttons during his tenure at Miami so I can let him off the hook tonight for not making the adjustments. -

another embarrassing loss for Miami. And Angel Rodriguez sucks. He thinks he's good because he had maybe 3 or 4 good/great games this season but the other 15 or so have been terrible. SHooting under 35% for the season. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 10:02 AM) Lynch is willing to be likeable if there is money involved. Whatever. I know the press is a drag, but pro athletes need to realize they wouldn't be getting paid what they are getting paid if it weren't for media, etc. People want to know things. You want to act like a jerk, fine, but eventually that catches up to you. Dealing with the media, answering questions, is part of the job description. If you don't want to do that, go make $10 an hour somewhere and tell your new boss you don't want to talk to the clients. See how that goes over. If every player acted like him, I doubt many would be fine with it, and I am sure there would be several less zeros on the balance of their bank accounts. I'm sure he's a nice guy off the field but he's a jerkoff when it's football related. All he wants to do is promote his brand and acting this way gets him the most attention. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 26, 2015 -> 08:13 AM) That doesn't really happen in major internationals anymore with the coverage that they get. Belize had some players propositioned at last year's Gold Cup against the US. It could affect the totals.

I'd go to any sport's ASG in person just to see the collection of talent playing but it has zero appeal to me when it comes to watching tv.

Gary Bettman and Roger Goodell is going to love this new MLB commish.

QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jan 25, 2015 -> 08:44 PM) The 2015 draft hype will get rolling in mid February when the college season begins. I'm looking forward to it myself. Anyone know when the HS season begins? March? I've been out of HS for too long to remember. March sounds right but I'm in Florida so I dont know when the northern states started their season. We always had our first game/tournament during Spring Break.

Nice win at Syracuse for Miami. Had a tough opening 6 conference games and Miami is sitting at 4-2. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) The NFL has yet to contact Tom Brady. Quite the investigation so far Ian Rapoport said that would make sense though. Brady would be one of the last people the league talks to in the investigation. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 05:33 PM) Weiss is a brilliant offensive mind though. Brilliant is being very generous. Since his first two years at ND, he really hasn't had any success. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) I predict Bears will sign Gholson to be our safety in time. He is on the outs in Tampa and will likely be a cap casualty. He was an absolute bust as a free agent signing for the Bucs. -

ESPN saying Lane Kiffin is the front runner to being the 49ers OC. How he keeps getting good jobs is amazing. -

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) Bro, you sound like a Wilson hater. Most people who know football know who he is. No one is comparing him to elite quarterbacks and if they are, they are probably trolling. please point out when I have ever been a Wilson hater. Typical message board crap. Anytime anyone ever criticizes a player they become so hater. -

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) Why? I think Lynch is a jackass and dont care for Sherman and that defense is always running their mouths. I guess if Rodgers is faking that calf injury then Sherman is really acting out there, right Earl Thomas? And Joe Buck slobbering on Wilson after the game saying how every team had multiple chances to draft him was funny considering an average NFL QB wouldn't have put Seattle in that situation today. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 05:13 PM) It makes absolutely no sense that the personal foul against Seattle isn't added to the end of that sack. So basically if your QB is in the process of being sacked you can take a cheap shot at a defensive player and not really be punished? How the f*** does that make any sense? i was thinking the same thing. Wilson was already tackled when the hit came. -

I've really slowed up on my betting habits and only play once in awhile but I'm sitting today out. I think I would've gone the opposite direction of you though. I would have taken a 7 point teaser and pushed both games to 2 TDs. Good luck today

If the Miller transfer rumors are BS, then this is really a dumb decision football wise. I would've thought Jones had some sort of inclination that Miller was going elsewhere by choosing to stay. I guess we'll find out soon enough. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 13, 2015 -> 11:21 PM) I am somewhat very shocked that Jets got Bowles. He seemed like a strong candidate, but OTOH, probably hard for a coordinator to play hardball for a shot at a dream job. good move by Bowles but I dont think this is what the Jets had in mind after getting rid of Ryan. Would've thought they'd want to go the offensive route but that job is so toxic right now.
