Yeah, Duke looked scary last night. Can't see anyone giving them a run this weekend.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 11:37 AM) Lovie again dipping into the Ex Bears well, bringing in Henry Melton. Lets all pretend he hasnt finished the last two seasons on the IR After reading the NFL threads over the past couple of seasons, I can't say I'm excited about Conte. Wright being brought back is a depth move and so is the Melton signing. If he provides anything more than being a rotational lineman then great.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 10, 2015 -> 03:29 PM) When the announcers both said he was really good and hope he doesn't get fired, before they signed off, I pictured you slapping your head. Appears to be the announcer kiss of death.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 9, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) Enjoy the NIT. No reason for Miami to be scared of a program that can never get out of the first weekend.

Alright Canes, we need 2 wins to have a shot at an at-large bid. Too many blown games against UVA, ND and Louisville has done us in this year.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 8, 2015 -> 06:54 PM) Nice to see Kaka score a goal to tie the game for Orlando City. I went to the game and it was an amazing atmosphere. Orlando City should've gotten atleast one PK awarded to them and the Kaka goal was deserving since they were the team that had the most chances and I think played better over the course of the 90 minutes.

FSU scored 34 points in the final 4:39 at Miami but lost by 4. Rathan-Mayes might've had the greatest 4 minutes in the modern era, scoring 30 points including 7 3's and two other sets of 3- FTs after being fouled. He was Reggie Miller on steriods. Crazy ending.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 12, 2015 -> 11:12 PM) Kaka, David Villa, and Frank Lampard. Should be fun. I wish Xavi would come to the MLS. He's not getting any burn at Barca. Lampard isnt going to NYFC until the summer. I was excited last year thinking I'd see Donovan but he had to retire and ruin those plans. The US was awarded the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying for Brazil 2016. I remember going to see the US-Cuba and Panama-Honduras double header in 2008. The US had Edu,Adu,Jozy,Sacha,Holden and a few other guys who made the senior team and still tied Cuba. But the best part was sitting about 5 rows behind the goal and watching the Cuban GK talking to fans the entire game. I dont know what was being talked about but the next night, he and about 5 others got out of their hotel and defected. lol

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 12, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) Yep , Gonzaga is actually my favorite team to watch this year. They at least have scorers at every position. This season is probably the least I have watched in 25 years CBB is too tough to watch if you dont have some sort of rooting interest. But I'll be watching a lot during conference tourney week. I think I may enjoy conference tournament week more than the actual tournament as a whole.

Bought my tickets for the Orlando City opener against NYFC! They want to sell out the Citrus Bowl for the opener. That may be tough but they've sold over 30k tickets so far and have over 11k season ticket holders. Should be some fun times this season.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) Good luck. Sounds like a fun project. I actually managed to disprove an old local urban legend about a year ago based on piecing together some sources in a similar way to start with.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 10:33 PM) We've gone through this before, Mike Glennon may suck, but it still makes no sense that was McCown was the starter all year when healthy. Maybe the Bucs were hiding Glennon in hopes of trading him for a late round pick? Probably not going to happen now that he's been traded unless the no other team is interested in McCown and they sign him for a much cheaper deal and then flip Glennon.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 07:52 PM) Do you honestly think that they're the only team that does this though?? I'd be willing to bet that more teams do it than not yet we sure won't be seeing the Vegas team or any of the other teams this thoroughly investigated. I'm soo sure that the international teams are faithfully practicing all that boundary stuff too... These kids were all from the same general area just like the majority of the teams are and that's good enough for me. I'd be willing to bet that you'd lose that bet. but its cool that youre ok with cheating.

Jackie Robinson Little League stripped of US title for cheating. Apparently the league met with other leagues to falsify the league boundaries in order to create a super team. link

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 8, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) Randomly ended up watching live the penalty shootout in the African Cup with Ivory Coast vs. Ghana. Ended up going 11 rounds, the Ivorian goalie blocked a shot from the other goalie, then scored the winning goal, doesn't get much better than that. First African title for them in 23 years, seems like they always underachieve, especially in the World Cup. I was flipping back and forth from that and the US-Panama match. Crazy how it was 2-0 Ghana after the first two rounds of the PKs. Ghana choked that away.

Letterman's Jackets
I have no clue. I have the letter but didnt bother with the jacket. Probably for the best since my parents bought me a senior ring for like $300 and probably wore it like 3 times.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) Nice to be done early, I can actually work. Nice class, really look to be #1 class in 2016 Miami could've locked up next years top class if they would've fired Golden this year. 2016 sounds like it's going to be one of the best ever when it comes to south Florida kids. It's suppose to be ridiculous.

Rays/MLB hinting at MTL as a possible destination
QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) baseball is a marriage of local media and the city. but the city has been screwing TPA and owners. didn't they restrict them last summer on possible new sites???? the council of St Petersburg is the one holding this up. The Rays wanted just to explore locations in Tampa and STP is trying to get as much as possible from the Rays. The mayor of STP is in favor of the Rays looking in Tampa. He actually thought he had the votes to allow them to look over the bay. the two sides are still talking and I'm sure there will be another vote this year. If that vote fails then I'll start thinking relocation might be somewhat possible.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 11:58 AM) I think it's kinda weird that the first person they hand the trophy to isn't the coach or the MVP QB but the team's owner. Compare that to the Stanley Cup, where Toews is the first person from the Blackhawks organization to hoist the cup. MLB and the NBA hands it to the owner so maybe hockey that's weird. Wasn't the Stanley Cup just handed over after the series ended back in the day? Didn't seem like much rhyme or reason with their celebration back in the black and white film footage era.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 10:08 PM) Sherman played well and it wasn't like revis made the big play. Dint know what you're saying here. dont be running your mouth and calling out a specific player when there is still an entire quarter to play. Seattle's offense gave his defense a 10 point lead late and his defense failed.

I know refs miss calls but that is easily roughing the kicker. It's really a no-brainer.
