  1. I'm pretty certain that Jimbo will never lead FSU to a BCS title. For such an offensive mind, he hasnt developed his QB and his offenses go through stretches of disappearing. Too bad for FSU that no one will be trying to hire him away.
  2. After a highly entertaining first half, Michigan and Ohio St remembered they were in the Big 10 and reverted back to boring play.
  3. Gotta think that today's events eliminated 2 NFC teams from playoff contention.
  4. Just laughing as I read this article. It's amazing how blatant steroids was. link
  5. Miami is self-imposing again this bowl season. That will be 2 post season bans plus a potential of a third if they win Saturday b/c Miami is also giving up their appearance in the ACC title game if they get there. That will make the NCAA's job really easy come spring time when the penalties should be given out. Probably something along the same lines as what Ohio State got for scholarship reductions. Worst case scenario is probably UNC.
  6. Dooley out at Tennessee. He was never qualified to be there to start with. Should be interesting to see almost a quarter of the SEC scrambling to find a coach.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 18, 2012 -> 12:15 PM) This is perhaps the ugliest slate of games from a gambling perspective that I can remember in years. There are competing angles for almost every game where I can see either team covering...usually, I feel pretty confident about 5 or 6 games. This week is a freaking mess. Yeah it is. I was thinking about the Bengals but I hate taking teams with losing records on the road as favorites. And they are coming off a huge home win and now playing a crap team on the road. Plus I dont think the Chiefs have quit on the season yet. There are just too many games today where you cant trust the teams that you'd like to take. Usually when I feel like this its either a struggle break .500 or I implode big time. Well against my better judgement, I think I'll go small on the Bengals and see how that unfolds before deciding if I want to call it a day or not for the afternoon games. Small play on Cincy for me
  8. This is the 4th of 5 scheduled prime time games for SF this year. Atleast after Monday night I'll only have to sit through 1 more of their games.
  9. QUOTE (kev211 @ Nov 17, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) I'm thinking Oregon should fall back to 4. So if ND loses Oregon will be able to sneak back in after the SEC Championship. I think Oregon should be at 3 but youre probably right about being at 4. I just cant get over Georgia losing by 28 at home. FSU might be in play again tonight. If they can beat Florida and win the ACCCG, then they need USC to win and maybe things can fall their way. A long shot at best but they really had no hope before tonight. Who knows what will happen with Oregon now. Can they rebound emotionally? Kelly might be on his way to the NFL to avoid the NCAA. Might be interesting next week against Oregon St. (edited, forgot Pac 12 plays 9 conference games) Lots of weird things can happen next weekend too.
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) For some reason I'm thinking Oregon runs the table, USC beats ND and Texas beats KSU. Hello SEC title game winner. Well I figured a SEC team would find its way back but surprised on how.
  11. poor Colin Cowherd. His bff Lane just got the kiss of death. When's the last time a preseason #1 lost 4 regular season games?
  12. If that wasnt holding on the Miller run in OT then I dont know what is.
  13. So Maryland and Rutgers as possible additions to Big 10?
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) The team that matches up best with Oregon is probably USC...hopefully we will see that rematch in the Pac 12 Championship game. Yup, USC atleast has the athletes. Stanford just doesnt. They can go toe to toe with anyone who wants to play physical but cant keep up with Oregon.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) And along these lines...I dunno what the line will be on the ND-SC game, but I plan on putting a crapload of money on SC. My guess is, assuming both win this week, that SC will be close to a pick'em. If I'm lucky, maybe they'll be getting a few points. Me too. I'm hoping for a PK or ND -1 so the ND fans can push the line close to 3. I'll probably take USC ML.
  16. Van Pelt said today that of the 5 Stanford losses in the last 3 years, 3 of the losses have come by a combined 14 points. The other 2 were to Oregon by a total of 44 points. Stanford doesnt matchup up well with Oregon. 21 is a lot of points but I could see a 48-24 type game tomorrow.
  17. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) Best thing that happened when Bob Bradley was let go is that the stupid "Michael Bradley only plays 'cause his Dad is the coach!" argument has finally died. Didn't get to watch the match today, but a 2-2 result in Russia is encouraging. Looking forward to the Hex. The result was good but it sounds like Russia controlled most of the match and Howard stood on his head. Bradley has to be the guy who replaces Landon as our #10.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2012 -> 12:45 PM) LOL, in hindsight both teams had a ridiculous amount of NFL talent on them, but before the game there was probably 3 people in the country that thought OSU had a chance. Before the 2010 Rose Bowl all I heard about was Oregon's speed and we completely slobber knocked the s*** out of them. Nobody has the ability to declare anyone the winner before they play the game. But once again I think this will all shake out anyway. The defensive talent in that game was absolutely disgusting. For some reason I'm thinking Oregon runs the table, USC beats ND and Texas beats KSU. Hello SEC title game winner.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 12, 2012 -> 10:27 PM) IN 2002 I watched a team struggle with Illinois, Purdue, Michigan etc and then face what many were calling one of the most unstoppable forces in college football history. You cannot definitively say they wont win because of who they've faced previously. This post makes me sad. Not because of the loss and the one person who kept that team from winning the title(Larry Coker, not the ref) but how far they've fallen from horrible coaching hires. But as we've seen, in a one game setting with weeks of prep, anyone can win 1 game. Everyone had FSU beating OU in 2000, Miami beating OSU in 2002, OU beating LSU in 2003?, Rams over Patriots, Patriots over Giants. Just has happened too many times to think it would be a cakewalk for the favored team. Plus given there is a 5 week break, I think ND would match up better against Oregon that K-State. Oregon is all about finesse and timing so the long layoff plus prep time could really get them out of whack. K-State being more of a power team probably should be able to overcome the layoff better.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) Are you kidding? Do you remember the QB carousel in Tampa? It was ridiculous He may be a pro coach but it isn't because he only wants to deal with one QB Yeah, I'm a Bucs fan and I remember him not wanting to draft or develop a young QB because he only trusts veterans with his offensive scheme which led to the carousel of QBs. He wants nothing to do with young QBs. He runs a complicated offense and I doubt he would dumb it down for college kids. Remember the complaints about Callahan at Nebraska? He threw his name out there when Miami was looking for a HC and he'll do the same to Tennessee to leverage a better deal when NFL teams start calling.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) Who sat Steven Jackson vs SF? This guy. F u, Reggie Bush! lol, me too put Leshoure or Turner gets my FU. My RB's have a combined 6.3 points but I'm up 43. Now I just have to hope I dont get Martin'd for the second week in a row because the guy I'm playing only has Forte left.
  22. Gruden is a pro coach. I cant imagine him being comfortable in coaching a new QB every 2-4 years.
