I don't think trading Adolpho is gonna happen.
-
I think Avi could be the key to turning our offense from a good one to a terrific one.

Game 3 got tied up in the 8th.

El Duque was in the ALDS. As was Graffinino's error.

Welcome! I was at game 2 of the WS, and I will never forget Paulies' slam landing about 10 rows in front of me. I still get chills thinking about it.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) Wouldn't surprise me if he hits. He always has, except for the Sox in 2013. Just can't catch. -

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 18, 2014 -> 03:08 PM) That's right.... He's on the team for next year!!! Too funny! -
Btw he's old and it's been a while since he was, you know, good.
-
Can't be true, it's too early in the day.

It's after 11:30. What's up, Hahn?

QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 10:29 PM) SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! SCHERZER! Just do it... Damn it! Congratulations. You made my heart jump. Not good for a 64 year old ticker.

Biggest ovation at Soxfest? The Hahnster!

Thanks for terrific Christmas presents, Mssrs. Hahn AND Reinsdorf.

QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) When did Levine become such a bad reporter? I always remember him being okay when he was on ESPN. Seems like now that he is on the Score he just blows at doing his job or he is on pins and needles afraid of outing sources. I heard him once ask Don Cooper why Coop hadn't changed Sales' delivery. Cooper was almost speechless.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:11 PM) Lol seriously? Kenny always gets his guy! It Seemed to me that Ichiro looked like he was on the downward slide last year, but it would be interesting. And more fun than Viciedo.

QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 01:00 PM) This is almost certainly going to seem like incoherent rambling at the beginning, but bear with me. I got an email this morning from my mother and her co-workers because the parents (Jane & Jack) of one of her co-workers (Tom) are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today. One of the messages in the chain caught my eye. It said: "Jane & Jack, Congratulations on your 40th wedding anniversary. That’s the best deal I’ve ever made – even better than signing Dick Allen, Jim Kaat, and Harold Baines! Love you, Roland" After asking Tom a few questions, it turns out that Tom's dad Jack and Roland Hemond have know each other since they were kids and Roland actually introduced Jack to Jane all those years ago. Anyway, not much else to say about it, but it thought it was pretty cool in a small world kind of way. Roland is a wonderful guy. BTW, his birthday is the same day as the day the Sox won the World Series in 2005. Because game 3 lasted past midnight, he saw 2 WS wins on his birthday that year.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:38 AM) How many times has he made it over 150 innings in a season since 2007? Once? Or twice? Well, last year 192 innings. I think it's an intriguing idea. Especially if it results in Danks exiting. -
Longoria? That would be unbelievable.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 07:15 AM) Lester signing with the Cubs shouldn't affect what the Sox do, but I'd like to see Jay Bruce on the Sox. I think the Sox would have to give up too much for him, though. I don't see a scenario where the Sox wouldn't have to give up Montas, Danish, or Anderson to get him. He averages 162 k's a year, and his ops last year was a career low .654. I don't see the attraction. I KNOW he's better than Viciedo.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 05:33 PM) 5 /$120 for Shark is too much. $25 mil is ace money, and you are talking about a guy some of you are saying isn't better than Q. Essentially, we'd be paying him 6/$130 for the next 6 years. That would be close to what Lester gets, and Scherzer would end up getting around 7/$175 this year. I'd much rather have a superior pitcher for a little bit more without giving up Semien and a cost controlled young pitcher like Bassitt No way Lester takes close to 6/$130 million. Baseball inflation being what it is, 5/120 million for Shark is probably right. -

QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 12:31 PM) Samardzija is not taking anything less than Homer Bailey's deal which was 6 years $108 million. When it's all said and done it will fall into the 6 year $120 million-ish range. Fine by me. -

So if this is the trade, Hahn keeps Alexei while Anderson develops. Plus a solid rotation, with a closer the next target. I like the Hahn-ster a whole lot.
