  1. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 10:43 AM) yeah what a horrible manager getting them within 2 games of the world series. Closer than whiz Joe Maddon did. Didn't say horrible, I say he didn't get the most out of them. And yeah, if you think Dusty is better than Maddon, I gotta say I disagree strongly.
  2. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 12:36 AM) Once they let go of Baker, it all fell apart. You can say maybe that team proved it cannot play up to its talents, but Dusty, for all the s*** he gets, got the most out of them like he did for the Cubs and Giants. Wait, Dusty got the most out of the Cubs? He let the team implode in the 2003 NLCS.
  3. Sox announced it's an auction, from 2:00 Friday till 2:00 Saturday, and minimum opening bid is $1000.
  4. I know Nancy. She owns the organ, but gave it to the White Sox for the sale.
  5. I'm okay but has anyone checked on Larry King?
  6. The classy left-hander was as nice a man you could run into. Thanks Billy.
  7. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 08:47 AM) EJ sucks One Earned Run over the last 47 innings.
  8. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:35 PM) Or to the Cubs with the Theo connection and reports the Cubs and Padres are close Cubs don't need Middlebrooks
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) You know that Miguel Cabrera fella. When he was put on the block we didn't have the bullets to get him here. Trust me Kenny tried. He just didnt have the horses to do it. Because he keeps going for it. So keep dumping players every year and you have nothing to go over the top when you need to. What I remember is the Marlins insisted that Dontrelle Willis and his fat contract was gonna go with Miggy. Sox wouldn't do that, Detroit did, and the rest is history.
  10. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) You're right, the Sox did fade in 2005. They had a ~15 game lead at the beginning of August and ended up winning by 1 or 2 games. Sox finished 6 games ahead.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) The Royals seemingly made a 1st round mistake thinking that Finnegan was going to make it as a starter Maybe the Astros will give him that opportunity. Probably won't.
  12. Dan Hayes tweeted that EJ has been moved to Tuesday, corresponding to Shark's schedule.
  13. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) Does Larry King have any connections with the Dodgers front office? Seems pretty randpm to toss out the Sox as a trade partner. I know that king sits right behind home plate a lot, and I'd bet he spends a good deal of time talking with - uh, listening to Tommy LaSorda
  14. When you pinch hit for Flowers, Soto has to pinch hit for our weakest hitter due up next right? How on earth can he not use Soto there?
  15. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jul 5, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) I don't know why he hasn't been good this season but this team would have alot more success if he was performing better this year. That's a long list.
  16. Opening day, what number did Alexei wear? #9. I'd guess they were close.
  17. Well, top dollar is Max Scherzer money. That leaves a lot of room for a lot of money, certainly more per year than any Sox player has ever been paid. I still think he signs with the Sox, tho.
  18. A basketball guy who's never been to a Sox game. Perfect. What could go wrong? There's probably a good number of minor league BASEBALL directors of promotion who would give their right lung for this job. Put me in the WTF camp.
  19. QUOTE (Douglas Rome @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) yeah, yeah, yeah, you guys are the best. I don't know why, but Danks kinda reminds me of Joel Horlen, remember him? thanks, douglas I don't know why either. Horlen a right handed sinker baller and Danks a lefty I'm-not-sure-any-more.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 29, 2015 -> 06:36 AM) Bruce Levine just called Beckham a great defensive player, quite possibly one of the greatest defensive players in the league(he didnt really clarify if he meant at second or just overall). If you dont believe me listen to the Mully and Hanley podcast between 6:00AM and 6:30AM Beckham, used properly, is a fine addition. But Levine? Levine is a great analyst, quite possibly one of the greatest analysts in the league. Now, where's that green button?
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 02:26 PM) the past couple of seasons, i am surprise the sox didn't use some of the vendors to see if they couldn't man a position or pitch. I think they did.
  22. I read somewhere this week that his numbers surpass Brock's in several significant offensive categories. For me that's enough. Hope he gets in. I also met him at Picnic in the Park and he could not have been nicer.
