Thome is not on the ballot, b/c there is no DH. Also, Papi is on as a 1B. At any rate, I don't think Ozzie will be able to completly stack it w/ his guys. Torre didn't excatly stack it w/ his guys either. IIRC, 4 Yankees were voted in by the fans, 2 more by coaches and players, and then Torre took 2 of his guys after representing every team that had no rep.

I think he can still jack 80 regardless if he is pitched to or not. Put aside Bonds using the juice for a second. In 2001, when he hit 73, he also walked 177 times. I think Pujols can keep it up. The guy is amazing. I think Bonds aside, he and A-Rod have a shot at 800 career HR's if they stay healthy and put up the numbers they have. The only question is do you think they'll deal w/ all the hell Bonds has to deal w/ as they approach the Hammer?

I guess. But someone like Buerhle who has stayed healthy and productive his entire career is someone I would give a big deal. Someone like Brown or Park or Hampton or Burnett have either not had good seasons thru the contract year and/or haven't been healthy

You'd think teams would learn not to give long contracts to pitchers after seeing Mike Hampton and Kevin Brown's injury problems and big contracts.

The Twins would get to keep the money they make on parking and concessions as well if they get their own stadium. I have heard Wilf plans to put up 1.5 billion of his own money for a stadium for the Vikings and the Gophers are a sure bet to get their own on-campus stadium

Good. As long as the Bears still win the division, that just means a lower draft pick for the Packers. I'll be real happy if they suck, since in addition to the pleasure of seeing them suck, Aaron Rodgers will have been blocked another year

I think he's going to hang around and try to finish this year, since he's making 18M this year. Maybe if he wants the record, he'll sign on w/ an AL team to be a DH next year
