QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2013 -> 08:14 PM) Yeah, remember how they decided an appellate court didn't need a full slate of judges entirely and they were going to block any appointment to that court? I sure don't. Oh let me get the handkerchief out for you two whiners. boo f***ing hoo....l

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) 2 presidents ago, we had a president impeached but not convicted, we had a completely unified opposition voting against his tax policy, we had a very long government shutdown driven by party out of control of the White House, and we had people coming up with literally insane conspiracy theories about the President non-stop (see; Congressperson shooting a watermelon to demonstrate how the President arranged the murder of one of his staffers). A few differences might well be that I think the world is facing bigger challenges right now thanks to the wars of 2001-2009 and the darn near complete economic collapse. The expansion of the filibuster/shutting down of the normal judicial nomination and appointment nominations processes probably deserves to go on the list in favor of your point as well. Miguel Estrada says hello.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) The whole use of the word "canceled" has been very questionable. My policy was "canceled" but I was offered a similar one for slightly more money, or a cheaper one with some less benefits. Either way, Blue Cross is still keeping me around. The word "canceled" makes it seem like those people are booted for good. No the word cancelled means you did not get to keep your policy like bozo said you could. Nothing more nothing less.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) You realize if your policy was canceled you can still get other policies right? That what he tells us. New and improved and better and stuff. Not some some prehistoric policy. He keeps telling us what is good for us. He should put his two kids in the exchange.

QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 01:47 PM) I find it interesting how much people believe the President should be personally involved in. What level of involvement should the President have had in designing and writing the code for the website? Did he personally look over the code and approve it? Maybe he shoulld have started the process in 2010 instead of waiting until after the election. Once again politics trumps everything with this asshole.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 8, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Obama is so overmatched it is just damn sad. Is he a liar or just this dumb? http://news.yahoo.com/obama-apologizes-peo...--politics.html Both.

Why is Narcissus lying about lying? He didn't say what he said and wasn't in the know about what he didn't know.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 4, 2013 -> 12:51 PM) Special Investigation: How Insurers Are Hiding Obamacare Benefits From Customers So she had a family plan and that morphed into an individual plan? Her daughter is on Medicaid , which I'm sure will provide the same coverage as the mother's former plan. And what about her husband?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) Permanent road work is the end result of trying to keep bridges and roads alive that hit their design lifetimes decades ago. Over 1 year it's clearly less expensive than the replacement, but over the long term it's also much more expensive. You just outlined the problem. Like floating debt to pay everyday gov't expenses. Over the long run costs a hell of lot more. Did you see the cover of the Sunday Tribune. Sheesh

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 1, 2013 -> 03:09 PM) I successfully got into the HealthCare.gov website! Unfortunately, every option is far worse than what I currently have. I guess I'm just one of the "clear losers" and there ain't squat I can do about it. The sad thing is that this has made me half-consider dropping coverage and just paying the penalty fee. Don't even do that. Just make sure you owe the gov't taxes and they can do nothing to you. Make sure you will not receive a tax refund.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 31, 2013 -> 06:08 PM) I edited out that line since it is drawing some wrath. My bad. I am funning you.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 31, 2013 -> 05:18 PM) I'm getting more and more worried about Hillary being our next two term president. How worried should I be, guys? Is she STILL the liberal media's choice to replace Obama? You people on this board are very smart. Give me a percentage that Hillary is our next president for a full 8 years. For the life of me, I don't see how the U.S. voting public, who vote on superficialities more than anything else, can vote for Hilly, who quite frankly is the opposite of Obama in terms of how she comes across on TV. We all know how one projects himself/herself and one's physical attractiveness on TV is HUGE in any election, vital in a presidential election. No offense to Hillary, but she is 1/10 of Obama in this category. She's just not likeable. Should I keep worrying about Hillary being a lock? Or do I have hope it'll be somebody else? When did the media become Liberal?

CBS News ran the numbers for a 48-year-old in Charlotte, N.C., ineligible for subsidies. According to HealthCare.gov, she would pay $231 a month, but the actual plan on Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina’s website costs $360, more than 50 percent higher. The difference: Blue Cross and Blue Shield requests your birthday before providing more accurate estimates. The numbers for older Americans are even more striking. A 62-year-old in Charlotte looking for the same basic plan would get a price estimate on the government website of $394. The actual price is $634. Whats a few hundred dollars a month between friends. LMAO. Dishonesty is an understatement for what was portrayed by these buffoons.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) That 90 million number includes an awful lot of non-able-bodied people. Right they are receiving SSI.....before you post a response......it is said in jest

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 01:54 PM) The exchanges are one portion that is not working very well (at the federal level, I think most of the states that designed their own are doing okay). Many other parts have been implemented for a while (pre-existing conditions, coverage until 26, abolition of lifetime caps, Medicaid expansion) and are working fine. Every 26 yr old on their parents insurance is one more person not subsidizing this boondoggle.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 11:09 AM) So, Obama is calling in the experts (Verizon) to sort out the website mess. I guess we can expect a 90 million dollar bid project to turn into a billion dollar project. Sounds about right for the US Government. Just call the 1 800 #.

If they were smart they would come back with a clean 1 year CR. And of course a debt limit raise.

I did watch about an hour. Was amazed that only 20 something reporters covered that press conference at the Super Bowl in 2009. seems like a story right in their wheel house. Also that NFL doctor (Dr. NO) is a freaking bad person.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 10:53 AM) I think a gigantic blizzard took care of cutting off access to Mt. Rushmore. Even more reason that what the Feds were doing is pure politics.

Narcissus going out of his way to make the shutdown affect people who want to visit parks. How much money has been spent to try to make a point? Blocking state roads in South Dakota so people cannot access Mt Rushmore. brilliant! This just proves that he is a south side of Chicago political thug.

The World War II Memorial isn’t the only site honoring veterans of the war that is closed because of the shutdown. The New York Post reports that the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial at Omaha Beach honoring the 9,387 who died in the D-Day invasion is one of 24 military cemeteries worldwide that has been closed since the government shutdown went into effect; the American Battle Monuments Commission maintains the cemeteries. The sites, which range from Mexico to Tunisia to the Philippines, are expected to stay closed throughout the shutdown. Stateside, the National Park Service has closed down a park that it contributes no financial resources to. Claude Moore Colonial Farm in Virginia is located on federal land, but the NPS cut the farm from its budget in 1980. According to the Washington Free Beacon, the NPS sent law enforcement to the park on Tuesday to remove staff and volunteers from the property. “In previous budget dramas, the Farm has always been exempted since the NPS provides no staff or resources to operate the Farm,” the farm’s managing director said in an e-mail. “In all the years I have worked with the National Park Service . . . I have never worked with a more arrogant, arbitrary and vindictive group representing the NPS.”

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) Let's ask bond market. Nice dodge. How about we don't pass a budget/ CR that we cannot afford...when rates go up how do we pay interest that is 200-300 billion more a year? Yes. Let's ask the bond market without the FED buying treasuries. DONE lets do it.
