  1. I don't think we have to worry about KW trading for the big unit anymore.
  2. Bmac is a real good pitcher and still can't figure out why in the world KW would trade him.
  3. I sort of have my doubts if there was a murder. I sure hope there wasn't.
  4. My guess is for Floyd to be the 5th starter while Haeger goes to Charlotte for more work, or for Haeger to come in out of the pen.
  5. I doubt very much that was true
  6. As I have said before this Bmac trade makes so sense what so ever. KW must be obsessed with something.
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 24, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) I think anybody with a brain thinks we coulda got more for BMac. I appreciate the logic but wouldn't yu all agree with me on that? That makes this a bad trade. I agree with you 100%. This trade was terrible, too early to tell if it is among the dumbest trades. It is a bad one though. We should have gotten more than what we did. I am starting to think that Ozzie may have wanted rid of him, IMO.
  8. Heck, I'm still in a state of shock after losing Bmac. I miss that guy already.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) That's right, here it is. For the first time since....well ever, I am going to *gasp* defend Ozzie Guillen. Look, we DID NOT trade Brandon McCarthy because Ozzie doesn't like him. That is ignorant to say, end of story. It's pretty obvious that one of three reasons are why this happened: 1. Kenny has been playing poker about McCarthy all along, and was blown away that he could get a lefty with better stuff in Danks, as well as another pretty good prospect in Nick Masset, for him. A classic case of peak value trade. And based on comments I've heard about what the organization thinks of B-Mac's 2 seamer, and KW basically saying that he thinks Danks has a higher ceiling alone than B-Mac (along with getting Masset), that is the most likely senario. 2. Kenny has lost his mind, and will soon either kill himself or become a Cubs fan. I think this one is pretty unlikely, but I've been wrong before. 3. Some of these stockpiled prospects are going to be used to make a significant trade. We have so many, in fact, that we could use some to get a really good player, and still keep a good one or two (which is amazing since as of a month ago, we had the worst system I can remember us having). This senario is also likely I would assume, but not as much as #1. Overall, let's wait until opening day to see how this works out. Our GM has proven that he can, you know, build a World Champion and all that, so he deserves at least a chance for us to wait until the season starts, then look at the roster, before we burn him at the stake. We do have two ELITE LEFTY pitching prospects in Danks and Gio now too (plus I like Masset and Floyd), so even if we only go 1 for 2 with them, lefty's that can ball are hard to find. The whole key here is that somebody has to step up and do something in the #5 spot, and to be honest, I think that will happen. I'm more worried about The Count staying healthy though.... I am more apt to think #3, but let's wait and see how things develop before we try to run KW out of town.
  10. As of now, I would put this down among the dumbest trades the White Sox have made. What in the world was KW thinking when he pulled that trade?
  11. Well Freddy is gone Bmac is gone, Riske is gone, also Cotts is gone. I wonder who will be next.
  12. I can't believe this. Bmac was a virtually lock to be a starting pitcher for us, now we trade him to Texas for minor league prospects. Has KW lost his mind?? These prospects we got better turn out pretty good or we'll have one bad pitching staff.
  13. Shannon Stewart wouldn't be bad either.
  14. If I am not mistaken did we give up a good minor league prospect for him? I thought we did I might be wrong though. I'm glad to see him go actually. Good Luck to him though.
  15. I pick Detroit for 3rd place as it will be hard for them to repeat as AL Champions. Minnesota will be in a dead heat with Detroit for 3rd place. I look for the Sox win the division. If we get pitching this team will be tough.
  16. I also vote false. We will score enough runs but it is the pitching that concerns me. I don't think Bmac will turn into the starting pitcher that Freddy Garcia was for us right away, maybe in a year or so he may but not right away. Only KW knows what is planned for Gavin Floyd. I agree with the hideaway's on Vazquez.

  18. I have no doubts about Bmac ability as a starter. If it would have been up to me he would have been starting last season.
  19. I don't think Thornton has proven himself as a relief pitcher yet. Bmac should be all set as the 5th starter.
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 01:21 AM) Pitchers and catchers will report on or about February 15th. Thanks a bunch now, I can start my count down to spring training!!
  21. Does any one know when spring training starts? I'm in withdrawl without the Sox!!
  22. Some guys don't care if they start or not as long as they get enough playing time. He'd be better than Pods.
  23. It is a very good article. The Sox approach to it makes more sense to me. The Cubs instead went on a spending spree which has been known to back fire.
