QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) Some RealGM posters say he also broke Jared Allen to the Bears. Don't know the truth to that. But just adding some context. Had Lebron to Cleveland yesterday as welll.....Still not sure if I'm buying it...I think Melo will indeed come to Chicago but not sure if I'd give dude credit. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 04:24 PM) Yeah; I believe they have that no matter what. It is the biannual exception. I think it is somewhere between 2-3M per year. You can use once every two years and I believe it is not dependent on cap situation (obviously teams only eventually use it when over the cap, but you didn't have to be over the cap from the same circumstances as you would for the MLE). Technically I believe there is also a MLE for those teams that don't meet the standard MLE. It is like an RMLE, I think and is less years / less $'s available then the full MLE. Might be mistaken though. So who are people wanting at PG for 2-3M? Did DJ play his way out of that kinda money? Speaking of PGs....Isiah Thomas to the Suns....I wish Eric Bledsoe was a few inches taller. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 04:20 PM) BAE should go to our back-up PG. What is that again? Is it there no matter what (Melo trade vs signing)? -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) wtf planet am i on Hopefully a planet where the Bulls will only have the vet min to throw at a PG. If Phil doesn't wanna play with a S&T for Melo I think that's all they can do. If they can work out a S&T then maybe they can use the mini MLE on something better. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 03:07 PM) I don't get it. We won't get a player of his quality at the vet minimum. Makes total sense as a 3rd string PG. Limit his minutes, keep injuries to a minimal, and that is an effective back-up right there. Not to mention just a really good guy to have on our bench and in practice. Even as the backup PG, which he'd probably be, this is true. If they grab Melo at the max they're gonna need to grab a few vet min guys anyway. -

Hopefully they can just grab Kirk at the vet min....I'd have zero problem with that. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 02:23 PM) But this is different. Buying Boozer, as much as it didn't work out, didn't prevent them from spending in future years. It was money that wasn't going to be available in the future. With Butler due a raise, this team will be cap hostage fairly soon. They don't have 2 or 3 years to spend the money that is available now. I believe the Bulls could be in the position that Houston is right now with Parsons. As a RFA they can go over the cap to match an offer IF that's something they wanna do. -

Carlos was main target ... to get this thing on track and on track quickly." Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 10m Hahn: "We view him as front-line starter in the not-too-distant future" Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 7m Rick Hahn: "It's a possibility (Rodon pitches in majors) based on his ability." Said its conceivable. #WhiteSox Dan Hayes @DanHayesCSN 6m #WhiteSox will incur a tax for exceeding draft pool, per Rick Hahn. Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 1m Hahn on @CarlosRodon16 : "He wants to be the best. He wants the ball and wants to be the front end type we envision him being." I'd sure hope so... QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:18 PM) Stein said Bulls are trying to get Wade and Anthony! No clue how it'd happen but I'd be ecstatic. Don't even care if they have to roll out Greg Smith and Bairstow as the 4s next year. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:13 PM) That's not my question. My question is why pick up Boozer in a sign and trade with pretty worthless draft picks and other crappy pieces , allowing the Bulls to give Melo more money and use an exception for a guy like Mirotic, when you can still get Boozer's expiring contract at the amnesty auction if that is some attraction, and you force Melo to accept less money and one of your rivals won't be able to make other moves? IMO, the only motivation Phil should have accepting Boozer is if you give him something really good to go along with it. Not something mediocre. And I think draft picks at the bottom of round 1 are mediocre. Depends on their perception of Mirotic. If they think he's the guy who would have been a top 10 pick in this years draft then I wouldn't say he's a mediocre piece. I also think they'd have to throw in Butler. From reading NY boards they said Phil wants a hard nosed aggressive defender and Jimmy fits that bill. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:03 PM) No, it's a statement off him saying they have questionable loyalty, which matters to him so much. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-05...ade-free-agents Gotcha, didn't remember that. Well much like Lebron was a "villain" in Cleveland before today, all would be forgotten if he comes over at a reasonable price. -

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:54 PM) I really don't like LeBron. But The Decision and now this. The whole "not 1, not 2, not 3". Since it stopped at two he jumped ship again. Yes, it's great that he's going home. But if they hadn't gotten 3 of the last 4 number one picks, would he be going home? Nah. Also, Wade has insulted the Bulls organization and their loyalty in the past. 0 chance he's in a Bulls uniform. ?? Is that statement just based of him staying in Miami? -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:38 PM) I still don't buy Love signing in Cleveland long term. FWIW he did say he'd sign long term if Lebron was there. Don't think I'd do that if I was the Wolves....They have to demand Wiggins. -

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) isn't wade supposed to be kind of a s***ty person off the court? FWIW he and Brandon Marshall have a sports academy for kids in New Lenox. I know that alone doesn't make you a great person but I don't think he's a total douche. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 12:13 PM) Why? Wade helped to orchestrate the Bulls missing on Bosh/Lebron. Not to mention he is old and will be overpaid. If he wants to come here for cheap to redeem himself in Chicago, he can feel free. That's kinda what I'm sayin. If Lebron is getting a pass for his part in the whole big 3 then why not Wade. After Melo it's really down to Wade/Stephenson/Trade. I'm just not sure Lance will be the scorer the Bulls need. Grab him for a year or 2 then hope to snag someone else. -

Lebron as well....And really, most every star in the league will always look for fouls. It's a part of the game now....is it annoying? absolutely. -
