  1. If I remember correctly, I thought I saw WWE retweet something from Cena saying his goal was to make it back for mania. I could see him coming out to help new day. Hopefully its something cooler like Cesaro or BC though.....I will admit I do kinda miss Cena though.
  2. I've never really understood the Hawk hate. I absolutely prefer a guy who is a "Homer" and is cheering along with me. I'Il get yelled at for this, but give me Hawk all day over Vin Scully who everyone loves. Maybe I just don't hear Scully enough, but whenever I do get the chance, it's always so bland and zzzzzzz. Also, Mike, are you the dude on Pride and Passion who always "Feels drunk?"
  3. I can't imagine they expected a big pop for her and have team baby face shun her. They knew what was going to happen. A big negative pop is probably more of what they meant.
  4. Not the story you're looking for, but Progress and RevPro has joined EVOLVE in hosting qualifying matches for the cruiserweight tourney. Zach Sabre Jr. (Vs Nakamura for those who wanna get familiar) Will Ospreay Marty Scrull (vs Ospreay) https://youtu.be/kc5-HspzRLs Those are names to keep an eye on. Scrull isn't great but he's a good character.
  5. Sam Acho back with the Bears on a 1 year deal. There's a lot of people talking about the Bears drafting an OLB high, but I just don't see it. Perhaps a late developmental guy, but I doubt we see one in the first 3 or 4 rounds. If you go back and look at the Ravens OLBs when Fangio was linebacker coach there wasn't much speed there. Think he might like guys who will run through you vs guys who will run around you at the position. IMO anyway. Speaking of Fangio type guys, it will be interesting to see if they pass on Hargreaves if he's there. A lot of people bring up the whole Fangio likes big corners thing, but despite being 5'10" Hargreaves plays like a big corner with his physicality.
  6. Every time I watch PWG highlight videos it makes me sad I'm not in SoCal. Looks like so much fun
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) RG3 to Cleveland *snicker* With the move more than likely meaning they won't draft Goff/Wentz, and San Fran now the only team likely to take a QB in the top 10, would you go QB in the first? Has there ever been a top 15 pick taken to be a backup for a year or 2?
  8. Feels like Avi has pulled the ball more this spring than all of last season. That is what's most encouraging.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 05:35 PM) Josh Hill... so will Miller be our catching TE and Hill our blocking TE (if NO doesn't match)? Yep. Hill is a pretty good athlete as well and might have some untapped receiving skills as well.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) In 49 games with the Bears, Bennett averaged 5 catches and 49 ypg. He also had a TD about once every 3 games. I'm not sure when and where Martellus Bennett turned into this top 10 TE everyone makes him out to be. Add in the fact that he's obviously a f***ing good, I'm shocked they were even able to get what they did for him He wasn't very good last year, but he was top 10 in both receptions and yards in his first 2 years. 2014 he had the most receptions among TEs. He's also a somewhat rare all around TE as far as receiving and blocking goes. I am fine with what they got though.
  11. They also get one of the Bears 6th rounders. Get back a 4th rounder. For a guy who was a lock to be gone in a year anyway, I'll take it. Rock, what are your thoughts on Vannett? Not very productive, but is that just a product of OSU system or is he just not all that great? He looked solid at the combine.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 07:05 AM) Where are you now in his support? Haven't been following him. When pro football focus came out with an article saying the move from Webb to Bushrod was a lateral move, I took A TON of heat for agreeing with it. I even went as far as watching the tape of both of them vs the 9ers and logging every play to try and make a point.....this mostly being on another board, things got so heated I eventually left the message board for a bit........Like I said, I haven't follewd him, but it does give me a smirk seeing he's still around making money in the nfl.
  13. JWebb Nation staying alive. Signed a 2 year deal worth 6.5M. Years ago I was one of his lone "Supporters" while everyone said he wasn't an NFL player.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 09:30 AM) Yeah, I could see him going that early. He is one of the guys that people don't know where he will be drafted. Some say early first round and some late first round. All the D linemen in the draft are jumbled up and could end up going anywhere. One of my personal favorites is Vernon Butler. I look at nearly every draft and he barely shows up in the first round, and I think that's just wrong. After Bosa and Buckner, I have Butler and Reed neck and neck for the 3rd best DL. People will call it a reach, but I really wouldn't mind if the Bears grabbed Butler at 11 either.
  15. Tony Jefferson told Kyle Long to "recruit him"..... Would love to see something happen there. 24 year old safety, 78 tackles, 3 picks, 2 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles last year. Cards can match any offer, but with the talent they already have in the secondary, they might not.
  16. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 09:05 AM) Yeah I don't think Lee falls to them, not with that speed. I really like Jarran Reed and Kevin Dodd. I loves me some Jarran Reed. Depending on who is there, I really wouldn't mind the Bears taking him at 11.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 09:29 PM) Another nice move. Now just what do we do with DBs. If I had to guess, they either grab David Bruton or go the draft route again as far as safety goes. Fox and secondary coach Ed Donatell are 2 of the best when it comes to coaching up DBs so I would go the draft route. .....Speaking of guessing......Posted this on March 8th on another board.... Sign/Resign ILB Danny Trevathon 7M ILB Brandon Marshall 7M (Yes I think its worth giving up a 2R pick to keep these 2 ILBs together) DT. Akiem Hicks 4M TE Ladarius Green 5M OG Jeff Allen 6M CB Tracey Porter 4M DT Mitch Unrein 1.5M OC Will Montgomery 1.5M RB Jaquizz Rodgers 1.5M Pretty darn close.
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 10:07 AM) Trevathan and Freeman would be a big upgrade from last year, but best in league is a bit much. Free agent ILB aren't getting near the money I thought they would. FWIW, Freeman was PFFs 2nd ranked ILB, while Trev ranked 6th.
  19. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) I'd rather bring back Jenkins than keep Washington. Washington has proven nothing since coming into the NFL. Jenkins at least provides good depth. I'd bring back Unrein as well. Could have been fluff, but he supposedly looked pretty good in camp as a 5tech last year. He's been blocked and came in raw. I think he's the type of guy you keep around until his contract runs out to wait and see if something clicks. 6'4", 34" arms, strong as hell, explosive, and still cheap. Think there is still some upside there. Jenkins had a couple good games, but he's been proven to be more bad than good.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Remember, you figure to factor in the expected releases of Bennett and Rolle, which would free up another 7 million in cap space. That would bring the total back up to 31 million counting the draft pool I expect the Bears to resign TE Miller (4-5 million per year) and DE Jenkins (2-3 million per year), which would bring the Bears back to 24 million in cap with the draft pool. Bears have been tied to CB Casey Heyward, CB Patrick Robinson, DE Akiem Hicks (visiting today), and S David Bruton. Not a huge Jenkins fan, at least as a starter anyway. I'm hoping for Hicks and a guy in one of the first 3 rounds as far as the DL goes. I would bring back Unrein as well and go 7 deep with Goldman, Hicks, draft pick, Ego, Unrein, Sutton, Washington.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 11:10 PM) http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/cap/ With the top 51 contracts, it looks like the Bears still have around 40 million left in cap room. They don't have Massie on there, but I just added 6 million to the total. EDIT: I lied. They don't have the Porter, Becton, or Rodgers resigning. So probably around 33-34 million in cap. Still expect the release of Bennett and Rolle which would create another 7 million According to the NFLPA, the Bears still have 31.4M in cap space......According to Over the Cap, the Bears rookie pool will cost 7.3M. So the Bears still have 24.1M in cap space to use on free agents. IMO, they absolutely need a starting safety and defensive lineman. A strong case could be made for another starting ILB, defensive lineman, and offensive lineman depending on how they view Timu, Ego, and Leno(an opposing argument could be made for those 3 IMO, and yes I said Timu). I have my hopes that tight end doesn't come into the discussion. That's 5-6 potential starting needs. If they can come away with 2 more, preferably DL and Safety, I would be really happy going into the draft.
  22. That deal is borderline criminal in today's day and age of overpaying free agents. Given that info, anyone know what his cap hit would be this year?
  23. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) Way too much for Porter and Massie. Love the Trevathan signing though Porter was sneaky good last year IMO, when you look at the contracts other CBs are getting, I would say he got a fair deal. Massie I'm unsure of as far as his monetary value goes. He seems to have been an up and down player throughout his career. Hopefully teaming up with Long, who he trains with in the off-season, will push him to be more up than down.
  24. QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 02:29 PM) If the Bears sign Hicks then Goldman moves to end? Hicks has great length at 6'5" with long 35" arms, I think he would play end.
