  1. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 10:22 PM) Its crazy but at this point you have to start believing the bulls have a shot at the central and the 3 seed. It's not crazy at all... I mean they're half a game behind the Pacers right now....I still fully expect the 2 spot. If you wanna get crazy? Lets talk about the #1 spot.
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) You're in rare form today. Right?? Stick to your 9ers Obama.
  3. Has the amount these new coaches are making even been released?? Or is this troll just assuming Trestman came cheap?
  4. Randomly turned TNA on (Idk why but I just haven't given it a fair shot) and saw that Brad Bradley (or Jay Bradley) got a contract....I almost got my ass whooped by him 8 years ago. His tag team partner ripped up a sign (Punk=Drug free/Boz=Talent free) then tossed a chair my way. I being the 17 year old "bad ass" I was kicked the chair back and it hit Bradley who didnt see what occurred before. He got in my face and got all sorts of intense, daring me to do something, and told me to sit my ass down, I of course refused and this continued for a a minute or 2 before Ian Rotten came out and broke it up.....He proceeded to call me a turd online...the next show when the crowd was silent and he wasn't in the match (tag match) I started saying tuuuuurrrrdddd, he turned around and laughed...I've been a fan ever since...Really talented big man, gonna try to remember to watch more often now.
  5. Really leaning towards Hoke...With Trestman wanting Marinelli to stay that tells me they wanna keep the same system...Hoke knows that system. Depending on how the interview went I would be surprised if its Singleton though or if he's possibly the LB coach.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) You spend a lot of time wasting your time. As for Lance Louis, he played a few decent games this year, but he's a big sonofab**** coming off a blown up knee. I wouldn't worry too much about keeping him around Halas Hall. I haz no life...Now more than ever. (My life is sports until tax time when i get my car fixed) Alright if Louis is gone I'm sure you can find another RG for that same $$...Or less, James Brown???
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 05:22 PM) Does salary cap numbers like that (14.5) include rookie salaries? Thats a good question because the Salary list I'm looking at doesn't include SMC or any other rookie, but it has guys like Campbell and Bush...So I'm not sure if it just hasn't been updated or if they don't count. on another site it looks like the first year salary for ALL rookies is 390,000...so thats 2.3 mill in the draft....if I'm right
  8. Just checking my logic here with those of you that do know how the cap works(I have 0 clue)... Bears are said to be $14.5m under cap. Cutting Spaeth and Davis knocks them 4.3 more mill under? So they're at close to 19m...Right? Gerald McCoy is a good comparison for Melton, he's getting 6.5m his first year outta his rookie contract...So lets say 6.5 for Melton. Now we're at 12.5. Joe Thomas is the best tackle in the game and he's making 9 mill. Clady is probably the only guy that approaches that and he won't hit the market....Bushrod is the guy I'm lookin at since he was the LT for the Bears new OL coach. He's probably looking at 6mill tops, maybe even closer to 5. Now we're at roughly 6.5. I want Nick Roach back, he's probably looking at 2-2.5. now 4 mill. I want Louis back as well, he's probably looking at another 2. so we're at 2 million left...oh no... What does cutting Hester do? His 2013 salary is 1.8mill but his cap # is 7.6....Restructuring contracts Peppers, Marshalls, and Tillmans contracts has to save us what a mill each?? Lets say 1.8 mill back for Hester? plus the 2 mill we still have left and they then have roughly 7 mill for the draft and to fill out the roster....is that enough? Am I right?
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 03:53 PM) I don't think I am. I think Bears fans are imagining the team has much more cap freedom than it actually has. That's going to make choosing between Melton and an O-lineman hurt. How do you think it'll go if the Bears sign the #10 O-lineman on the board for $3 million and that's the only o-line addition they make before the draft? The following article is what kinda got my hopes up. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/17253566-41...-cap-space.html What that means I have no clue. Bringing back Melton, Louis, Roach and signing a proven LT is all I care about.
  10. I would like to see them promote Hoke(DBs coach) to DC. Our DBs were somewhat the vocal point of the team anyway and he knows the system already. Maybe bring in Samurai Mike to be the linebackers coach. I don't think a beat will be skipped.

  13. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Why not just get an actual TE that is good? How do we know Rodriguez isn't? I know it's only 2 games and it's against a garbage opponents but watch and listen to the way the announcers talk about him. I don't think he was given a chance last year. Also said he takes one of the spots, I want Spaeth and Davis replaced...Another proven TE can also be brought in.
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 03:25 PM) Ashlon Jeffrey and Brandon Marshall are more like Rice and Taylor or Rice and Clark, than Marshall and Wallace would be. Bears need a TE/Fb, they have nothing close to Rathman/Jones combo. Those old school 49er offenses relied a ton on short passes to not only the RB, but also to the TE/FB. Evan Rodriguez takes one of those spots, and I think he will excel.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 01:10 PM) There's no homer quite like you. Problem, of course, is that, regardless of his talent level, Forte's never been able to punch the ball into the endzone, and if you are to even be a candidate for MVP as a running back, you need to score touchdowns Ya, you're right, the TDs will be his downfall....I'm just excited to see him in the passing game. from what I've seen in looking at Marcs old teams stats he loves to work the RB in the passing game. Just going from memory, Charlie Garner had 72 rec and the 9ers RB had 90+ in Trestmans time there. I expect much of the same with Forte, who is one of the better pass catching receivers in the game.
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 08:37 AM) That's pretty surprising since Rice was really happy when Trestman was let go by the 49ers. He hated the 2 yard routes he was running. http://jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/...7/1c1rice_.html The thing that concerns me is he's from the Jimmy Johnson tree, Wanne, Norv Turner, both prety much busts as Head Coaches. He's also kind of calm like Lovie. If the Bears don't win right away, the fans are going after him. I don't buy that(though i didnt read the article), why would he sign with the Raiders when Trestman was the OC if he didn't like the guy....Rice also had a 1800 yards and 15 touchdowns in that offense. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 09:51 AM) As a outsider looking in, Besides Marshall I see the rest of your WR's a huge weakness. Hester used to be a great ST player but he isn't that good at the WR position. The other 2 are good backup role players. Your #1 weakness on offense is the tight end position, maybe you will draft the TE from ND. You can find several good OL in the draft. A team with Cutler, Forte, Marshall, Wallace and solid TE, would win tbe NFC North for the next 3-4 years The Bears made some very good moves today As others have said there's no reason not to like Alshon Jeffery, he'll be working out and learning from Marshall in the offseason so I only expect him to get better and be an awesome #2.....Also Bennett ranked highly on PFF as a slot receiver. If they can all stay healthy thats the last thing I'm worried about. Fantastic hire.....Early bold prediction....Matt Forte will be an MVP candidate NEXT YEAR.(if he stays healthy)
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 12:16 AM) So, for some reason the Bobcats are trying to trade their pick. They've had discussion with the Bulls because they REALLY want their pick back. Biyombo has come up in trade talks. So... Bobcats Pick + 2013 Bulls Pick + Rip for 2013 Bobcats Pick + Biyombo 2013-2014 Rose/Hinrich/Teague McLemore/Hinrich Deng/Butler Boozer/Gibson Noah/Biyombo I'd be ecstatic with that. Wait what!? That sounds fantastic!....You basically wipe out the T2 trade and rename him B2 then trade Rip and a mid 20's pick for a top 3 pick??? Uh yes please. Bismack working with Thibs just makes me salivate. Also, they could potentially trade the pick if they're not comfortable with Shabazz, Mclemore or any other SG who may emerge.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:32 PM) So what this basically says is that the guy who killed Lincoln came back from the dead a hundred years later to kill Kennedy under a different name. Precisely.
  19. Not exactly on subject but ironically a friend on facebook just posted this... Have a history teacher explain this if they can. Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846. John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946. Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860. John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960. Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. Both wives lost a child while living in the White House. Both Presidents were shot on a Friday. Both Presidents were shot in the head. Now it gets really weird. Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy. Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln. Both were assassinated by Southerners. Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson. Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808. Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908. John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839. Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939. Both assassins were known by their three names. Both names are composed of fifteen letters. Now hang on to your seat. Lincoln was shot at the theater named "Ford." Kennedy was shot in a car called "Lincoln" made by "Ford." Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials. And here's the "kicker": A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland. A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe. (Shoulda said in not with) AND...................: Lincoln was shot in a theater and the assassin ran to a warehouse...

  21. QUOTE (juddling @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 02:27 PM) Matt Thornton wins AL Cy Young award?????? ROFL Damn skippy
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Haha...I had actually thought about saying that. I think the big problem was the Packers were in man the whole game and you can't do that with a running Q. Packers D only shows up for the Bears (oh and Joe Webb). Other then that, they sucked this year. You didn't have to look past what the Vikings did to them on 2 separate occasions (when they had Ponderer). It really is sad the Bears can't do much against the Packers D. The big thing is, the familiarity between the teams is there. Hell, look at how the Rams play the Niners. I think that has a lot to do with Clay Matthews and our inability to stop him. 5.5 sacks and 7 TFL in 2 games is outrageous.
  23. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jan 13, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) Two playoff defensive meltdowns in a row. Pack may have to consider if Capers is still the answer After hearing Woodson say they didnt plan on Kaep running so much he should be out. The man runs a 4.4 40 and used to run something called the Wild Kaep, how can you not "Plan on him running so much?"...
  24. I can see it now "Kap attack runs wild on Pack" - Fritzy's mock headlines.
