  1. All I know is I hate FIP. Can't I just enjoy John Danks and his 70% quality start percentage without hearing how lucky he's been.
  2. Butler and McDermott to play for USA select team.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) "Bulls Rumors" was retweeted by 87.7 the game (I followed to get sox tickets once)...anyway they tweeted that Bulls players have been reaching out to Marion to come to the Bulls. I think if he was going to take min he'd just go back to Dallas, but if we could get him here for that I would be ecstatic. I'm pretty nervous about Dunleavy/McDermott pulling the defensive weight at SF. Rose-Butler-Marion-Taj-Noah...oof that would be as stingy as Deng was and I love Marion's offensive versatility. Here's a good time to ask this....Anyone know how "real plus minus" is all calculated? On paper it would appear that Marion is a solid offensive player, yet RPM has him ranked as the 50th SF with a -1.72. Whereas Dunleavy is ranked 13th with a 1.18 And then also defensively Dunleavy ranks 9th while Marion ranks 21st.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) Are they like anti-glare glasses? Like Motorcyclists wear at night? Not sure...I did just read that he normally wears contacts so idk, guess he could just be hot...Or they're just magical
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) He's talking about Hinrich. Kirk is not THAT bad a 3 point shooter. I don't think it's too crazy to think that he could get back to the 39% he shot just 2 years ago. That % was good for 66th in the league.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 08:48 AM) For the full season he's at a >200k/600 PA pace. The only way he'd ever be a successful hitter with that number of strikeouts is to hit 40 HR a season. Basically if you want to know "is Tyler's streak real" watch to see if that K rate goes back up. 5 times in 25 PA's and he's a solid MLB contributor. The rest of the season he's been on a 9-10 K/25 PA pace. I can certainly agree with this....It's def gonna be something interesting to follow going forward (If they don't trade for a catcher). I don't wanna say it's a thing just yet but I do think it's rather interesting that he has doubled his double total from 5 to 10 since wearing the glasses. What I wonder is whether or not he was previously wearing contacts.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) That has nothing to do with Kirk Hinrich. Or frankly nothing to do with Thibs for that matter. Indeed, only way he gets more minutes than he should is if a guard goes down(Any of em probably)
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 08:29 AM) Well if he kept that up it would be a huge improvement (I assume there's a couple walks in there so he'd be below a 20% K/PA rate?) Just once actually, and he was hit by a pitch.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 08:24 AM) What's his K rate in those games? 5 times in 23 ABs
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 11:15 PM) Flowers was also terrible when he started wearing those glasses This is somewhat false. Just found an article saying Wednesday the 9th was his first time wearing them... Since then he is hitting .343/.400/.565 with 3 pretty big RBIs. I say somewhat false because he did have back to back 0fors in that stretch. With the 5 doubles and that near massive bomb he's clearly been seeing the ball better since putting on those magical glasses.
  11. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) Hope the glasses work. It's no wonder because I've never seen someone strikeout looking as much ad him. As do I. It could legit be a thing that really does help him. Wish he would have done it sooner, with the trade deadline in 10 days that's not nearly enough time to really judge so they should still try to snag a catcher.
  12. Anyone remember when Tyler 1st started wearing those magical glasses?? Dude has doubled his double total in his last 7 games with 5, just 10 overall.
  13. Gonna throw out another "bold" prediction.....Bullpen will rank in the top half of MLB by seasons end.
  14. Game behind KC now....5 back from the wild card.
  15. DUNN! BELLY! (4 straight hitless innings for him) Petricka!
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:51 PM) Can this guy Jake get 3 outs against a struggling team? In case you didn't know he is pretty good. Bullpen is not that bad guys.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:44 PM) It's sickening to see Downs get Sox hitters out. I mean for as bad as he seemingly been lefties are still only hitting .207 against him
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:15 PM) And then he strikes out.. No inbetween lol except for his 4 doubles the last 3 games =p...The magical glasses are real!
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 21, 2014 -> 09:15 PM) Flowers hitting .222 against RHP on the season, Gordon .202. The magical glasses will become a thing...book it.
  20. That light tower power.....Would be hard to reverse this one though
  21. Dunn showing why he's not on the list Jake posted yesterday....#Wheels
  22. Tyler and those magical glasses...4 straight hits I believe 5 for 6 with 3 doubles in his last 6 ABs
  23. Atta boy Adam, that's the perfect time to go against the shift.
